I have to admit that I have been a little holier than thou in my smugness while reading everyone else's threads about their airlines changing flight times.

We are going to WDW in November and even though I booked our tickets in January, there have been nothing more than a few minutes' changes here and there.

So tonight, out of curiosity, I double-check our information for the 1000th time. Lo and behold, my smugness has come to bite me in the butt!! :earseek: AA has changed our return flight so we are scheduled to depart Orlando 3 hours and 15 minutes earlier than before. We can't do that since we have the family tour booked at MK that morning. So, I look online and see that there is a flight that leaves 21 minutes later than we had originally booked. I called AA and tried to get all 7 seats (on 3 different record locators) changed. She can't do that. It has an extremely short connecting time (30 minutes) in St. Louis to the last flight of the night.

So, I asked if they chould change our return city. She checks with a supervisor and not only changes our return city, but also our departure city at no extra charge!! We are now leaving out of our home airport (no 60 mile drive), and get to take the later flight home!

I am so excited. I know everyone else will be too, until I tell them at our flight now leaves home at 5:58 a.m. (instead of an 8:30 departure from home for an 11:00 a.m. flight). Oh well, they can sleep on the plane! Plus, we now arrive at MCO at 10:45 in the a.m. instead of 4:00 p.m. We may end up visiting a park on arrival day after all!

Thanks AA!

I fly AA because of their good customer service as you mentioned. I was in the same situation (almost) I bought my tickets in March and by the time August rolled around, they had changed the times. I called and they were able to accommodate me without charging.

Hope you have a great time! :sunny:

American changed our flight times for October, too. BUT the changes were less than 30 minutes on each end, so I wasn't sure they would let me make changes without paying for it. Going out of Dallas an extra 20 minutes will probably be a good thing, so I left that one alone. But coming out of Orlando even a little earlier would have meant the food court at Pop would have been closed so we would have been scrambling for breakfast at the airport. The customer service rep I spoke with was SO nice! For no charge she was able to switch us to a flight leaving about an hour later than the original one, and she offered to change the flight to Orlando if we wanted. She was just lovely, and I am glad we fly American. :)

I love AA

And to think our next (not the NEXT one the one after that) WDW trip will be flying with them as we have racked up enough miles to fly for free!

BOOK EARLY! Regardless of how much you love them they have VERY VERY few FF seats on any one flight. Having the miles is only half the battle on them or anyone.

(Personally I despise AA.. I have had more customer service failures with them then with all the others combined LOL!)
