last year i was on the dinning plan , this year i decided not to get it. My question is if i link my credit card to my KTTW card can i purchase food with that instead of bringing my credit card with me.

As noted above, yes you can. However that's only true at Disney restaurants. If you were to go to one of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants you'll need your CC.
