According to the DIS rehab site, Kali River Rapids to be in rehab Jan 20-30 - exactly when we will be there. This is one of my favourite rides at WDW - :(

thanks for letting me sigh

thanks

I'm going during then and I am so bummed!!! So, you're not the only one.

Wow....we'll just make it. Will be at AK on 1/17..............P

we'll miss it too. at least we'll stay dry! ;)

oh well - at least BTMR will be open...wasn't open last time we went.

We are going to miss it too. My family loved that ride. I guess we will just have to hit it later this year. One of the benefits of owning DVC.......we'll be back before very long. :wave2:

Wow - our UHPs are effective 1/18-1/23. Guess we better put AK at the early part of our trip.

Thanks for the info. I missed this one.:earsboy:

How many more do you think will close ? I mean, how soon before they close does disney release this info. :(

Yep, I am bummed about Kali River Rapids too .....
I also heard that Fantasmic in MGM AND the Astro Orbiter at MK will be closed while we are there !!! (1/25-1/31)
Boooooo !!!!!

Oh well I am still soooo exited !!:bounce:

It will be operational by the time I arrive on Jan. 31-Feb. 5;)

I'm bummed about Fantasmic and the Backlot Tour. They will be closed when we go too, along with a few other rehabs. I was hoping to catch them this time. Oh well.

Taking about reversal - I went on the AK Wild by Design tour during my stay and since KRR was done for rehab we got in an extended tour of the queue area - learned about the spears and their meaning and looked up at the ceiling in the FP queue area - amazing - hand painted too!

Had a chance to see and someone in the group photgraphed the ride in it's dry state as well

Also had a chance to see a bored primate (human) pace up and down in front of the rope at the exit to stop people from checking things out - this was funny since earlier we had a chance to speak with the Gorilla partners at the PFT and talked about bored primate behavoir

A clear case of appearences can be deceiving - the closure actually turned into a + for me

thanks

I'm glad that a negative turned into a positive experience for you:D Would you mind giving more details for Wild by Design? We tried Backstage Safari this past Jan. and loved it - now we wanted to try the other AK tour. It's all on-stage right? What else did you see? Would you recommend it? Thanks:D

Wild by design is a great compliment to the backstage tour - I did backstage tour then wild by design the next day. If you are a DVC memeber (in case) there is a 15% discount as well.

The Wild by Design is onstage 100% of the time - start around 0830 and go from there - we toured most of the park so lots of walking but spent most of the time in Africa, Asia and at the Tree of Life and the Oasis

I would strongly recommend it to anyone who likes AK and wants to learn more.

Learning about the spears at KRR and seeing the hand painted ceiling for the first time was almost worth the price of the tour

Also, if you are a pin collector, there is a special pin for the Wild by Design tour

It is worth the $$$ and investment in time

thanks
