I was just watching Kelly Ripa and she can barely respond to questions. She's not the person to send out to promote anything. She looks down, no eye contact, stammers, seems confused, fidgets in her chair, swings her feet...not very socially adept. I've never seen her in a film so I don't know her work but it must be good for her to have become so famous.

That's how she's come across in every acting gig I've seen of hers, too (though I admit to not having seen many). There are internet memes galore out there regarding her lack of "emoting ability", so it isn't just me who has thought this. She's pretty, but I don't really see the acting appeal.

IMHO she is a terrible actress. She is very one dimensional, atonal and very limited in her range. I have never understood her "stardom" but then again I am probably not her intended audience.

When she was on Oprah, Oprah asked her how she dealt with her extreme shyness. So, maybe it is due to her being shy.

I think so too. She's not very open or comfortable with all the attention she's getting. Thats why ppl find her awkward.

ITA...have never seen a movie with her in it, she just rubs me the wrong way.

There is definitely something keeping her from being a good interview or being able to even quietly, cognitively communicate. When the co-host told a joke that was pretty cute, she said. "that's funny." while looking at the floor. It was a toss up as to wether she really thought it was funny or not. Her answers were two and three words. It was painfull to watch Kelly try to get any words out of her.

I feel the same. Every interview I have seen her in or awards, whatever she comes across as someone with no sense, no class, or manners. She appears to be very immature, besides awkward. Her acting ability is extremely limited. All in all she maybe a very nice young lady, but she's really in need of "polishing" for lack of words, before she goes out into the public eye.

Me too, Robin.

Never have seen the slightest thing in her... not her appearance, her acting abilities, her personality.... nothing..

Yeah, she's pretty much really awkward in everything she does. I really don't understand why people think she's a good actress. She's not a good actress. Twilight was so awkward to watch. I have never heard a more monotone "I love you."

i agree - throughout "twilight" she always had that same look, as if she were constipated or straining or confused -or all 3 at the same time

it carries over into every interview i've ever seen her do - she's fidgety, no eye contact, nothing to say, seems bored or unable to focus

that "awkward, constipated" bella from the first "twilight" is still very much present in "breaking dawn: part 1"

hoping she finally gets to take a dump as a vampire - maybe then she'll smile and show some personality in "breaking dawn: part 2"

Maybe it's some form of anxiety.:confused3 Her affect during interviews reminds me of Heath Ledger; he always fidgeted and appeared awkward.

If you aren't interested in her movies as a young adult, you could watch her as a teen in "Catch That Kid" and "Zathura".

Jodi Foster starred with her in "Panic Room" and has said about KS, that she was surprised she wasn't to be an actress because of her introverted/shyness. She was sure that she'd choose another path in life.

She falls into the same category as Megan Fox for me. There is not a lot of talent in my opinion. (You can really see it in the movie 'Runaways' when she is paired with Dakota Fanning), but if you star in a big enough movie you can make a go at it based on the success of the movie.

I have never seen the Twilight movies and never will but I did see the previews for the Snow White movie and, in my opinion, she looks good. I'll take an awkward and shy actress that isn't good but looks good in minimal clothing over a great actress that can recite Shakespeare and answer questions from talking heads but looks like a meaty disaster.

As far as I'm concerned just dress her in as little as possible and don't give her much dialog. Everyone wins!

She does not interview well at all, there is no doubt about that. She usually manages to come off as sounding like an obnoxious complaining twit. Maybe it is just shyness or anxiety but in that case she really needs to hire a better staff to coach her and manage her appearances.

I was not impressed at all with her Twilight work. I guess we'll see whether she manages to extend the career into any sort of future because there are so few good roles out there for women actors and so many really talented actresses clawing for them.
