I plan on having two meals at the polynesian and I was just wondering which is better for which meal (Breakfast or dinner) or if one is good for both. My family can take or leave character meals so thats not a big deal either way.

It depends on your preference really. O'hana is a family style meal with the standard fare...eggs, sausage, bacon, the Mickey waffles, etc. while Kona is ordered off the menu. Since you say that character dining can be had or not, then I suggest going with Kona. I like the fact that my food is made for me and hasn't been scooped up for an assembly line of family style bowls. The food IMO is better with more variety at least for the adult menu...not sure about the kids since DS hasn't eaten off the kids menu in 8 years. DS had the steak and eggs last time and loved it. My personal fav is the macadamia nut pancakes with the warm crushed pineapple.

Kona for a more relaxed and great meal. Ohana if you love meat and alot of noise and also like to get involved with the singing and marching around and can to the limbo. Ohana may be the better place for kids to be entertained and Kona a better place for a great relaxing meal and great desert .

I did Kona for breakfast and dinner on my last trip and loved it both times. In fact we are planning on going back for breakfast next time. Tonga Toast baby!

we really enjoy kona for breakfast. it is relaxed as previously mentioned. one thing we have done for several trips is order a tonga toast for the table. that way we all get a taste and no overload! it is awesome! (there is 4 adults in the travel party).

I would defintiely choose Kona over Ohana for dinner. As for breakfast, I havent eaten at Ohana, so I can't give a fair opinion, but I do love Kona for breakfast too.

I love O'hanas for dinner. Especially if you can get it when the fireworks at MK are. It was a magically ending to a perfect day at Disney. The food was wonderful. I didn't have dinner at Konas but my sister didn't care that much for the lunch.

I ate at both for breakfast and I would choose Kona's for breakfast unless you are looking for the character experience. Kona had more unique items for breakfast. O'hana's had your typical breakfast foods.

Wish I could join you!!

We loved meat, but we hated 'Ohana! The potatoes were awesome, and the wontons and dessert were good, but everything else was just bleurgh.

I would go with Kona Cafe every time! We had our best meal of the stay here. The crab cakes are to die for!

However, we are trying both Kona and 'Ohana for breakfast this time!

We have eaten at both for dinner and find that we enjoy and love the food in Ohana's a lot better.

thanks for all the opinions. All of it has helped me a lot. I think maybe we will try both this trip.

We couldn't decide, so we're doing 'Ohana for dinner and Kona for breakfast (gotta try those pineapple mac nut pancakes! yum!)
