For anyone who has done it, what should we order? The dinner menu is more extensive, obviously, but lunchtime worked out best for us and we're at a loss as to what looks good. Any suggestions?

Kona Cafe is one of our favorite WDW restaurants, and we actually choose to have lunch there instead of dinner. We've heard lots of complaints that it gets very noisy at dinner due to people milling about in the resort lobby, but it has always been quiet and relaxing at lunch.

Everything that we've had there has been delicious. I'm not sure I'll be able to remember everything we had, but here are a few things I know we tried: Big Kahuna burger, Asian noodle bowl, Pan-Asian pasta, Island chicken sandwich, and Kona salad.

Don't forget to save room for dessert - the desserts there are fantastic!

We love most of the appetizers there, the pot stickers, crab cakes & Kona chowder - mmmmm! We've had the chicken sandwich, the shrimp caesar salad, and they used to have a grilled mahi mahi sandwich that was delicious. I don't think we've ever gotten anything that we didn't like. DD especially loves their smoothies!

HTH! :sunny:

Kona cafe is a must stop for us. I usually get the burger (I'm boring) but DH loves the Beef Teriyaki salad.

I'm another fan of the Kona Cafe, for lunch or dinner.

For lunch I like to get the Pan Asian Pasta, Kaycee mentioned above. DH and my mother both got the burgers and they thought they were great.

kona for lunch is a great choice - not crowded and good food. I love the duck pot stickers and their salads. Deserts are yummy as always.

We had lunch there our last day and it just capped off the trip perfectly! Great food and service. My stepdad has the salmon BLT which was really good. I had some kind of chicken sandwich that was wonderful and my husband had some kind of steak salad. The best part was the desserts! The lava chocolate cake and macadamia pie were so good, I am drooling just thinking about it! One note, if you get a burger order it well done. My mom ordered one medium well and it was way too rare. She didn't say anything and I didn't notice until she was pretty much finished. Those burgers are so huge and thick I think it takes longer to get them done.

We've had lunch here a few times and it is always stellar. It is one of DH's favorite lunch spots. It is also a nice reprive from the busy parks.

Another vote for the Kona Cafe for lunch! The potstickers and crab cakes and burgers are great! Nice relaxing ambience, with a stroll on the beach afterwards. Great respite mid-day from the parks!! Have fun!

Thanks for all your replies! Looks like we can't go wrong with whatever we get. We'll post a review when we get back.

Kona is an excellent choice for lunch. DS & I like to go there on a MK day. We eat at Kona, then go to the Marina & rent Mice for our Water Mouse Regatta. It's a lovely way to spend an afternoon. We've never had anything there we didn't enjoy. Burgers, Teriyaki Steak Salad, Crab Cakes, Sticky Wings, Misoyaki Chicken are all good to name a few of the things we've had there.

Try the Kona Chowder. It is to die for. Warning - it is very, very rich. It keeps me full for the rest of the day.
