I don't know if this should be under the budget category, but it is a budget concern as i may have to buy my daughter another coat! I was wondering how long you have to return a coat to kohl's department store. I bought my daughter a coat/snow pants combo just over 60 days ago. Well the zipper no longer will work, can i return it or do i need to toss it and buy a new one? I have never returned anything to Kohl's, so I'm not familiar with there policy. Thanks for the help! :sunny:

As long as you have your receipt you should not have a problem. If not I think they give a store credit, but you will only get back the lowest amount the coat sold for (on sale or clearance).

Kohls is excellent about standing behind their merchandice. You should easily be able to get a store credit even without the reciept if they see that they sell what you bought.

I would try to find the receipt though. Coats are probably at a very low sale price or marked to clearence by now. That would be the price you would get.

The same thing happened to me, DD broke the zipper on the third time she wore the coat, since I got it at TJMaxx they wouldn't take it back. I am sure Kohl's will though. This zipper broke in half at the metal part. This is the second time an Amy Byer jacket did this for us. From now on I will buy Lands End or Columbia because they have a quarantee. Good luck.

I work for Kohl's(at customer service)if you have the reciept you will get the full value you paid for the jacket, if you dont have the reciept then you will only get the value of the jacket at of the day you return it, the only other option would be if you used a kohl's charge to buy the jacket because if you did they can look up what you paid in the computer, but only if it was on a kohls charge.hope that helps.....

just a suggestion, but try contacting the manufacturer. My daughter's OshKosh winter jacket zipper broke 2 years ago (purchased at Burlington Coat Factory). I contacted OshKosh, they asked me for the product information located on the tag, then sent me a check for the value (their retail price) of the coat. I was able to buy my daughter a brand new coat with the money, worked out fine in the end.

Good luck!!!

Chris

I've never had a problem returning anything to Kohl's, but I've always had a receipt. They are really good to deal with! I love that store! :goodvibes

Kohls has an excellent return policy. I bought my friend baby clothes for her baby shower (like 6-8 months size) and the babies were not able to fit in those clothes at that season so she returned them (with a receipt) and they still took it and this was like a year later. They told her they will take back anything with a receipt and tags no matter the time.

I noticed today that the childrens coats are 70% off so you should be able to get a new one cheap!! :cool1:

This is true, for now. Last week, I was returning something in Kohls. The employees were saying that the policy is going to change soon to shorten that time frame to 3 months or so. Not sure how accurate this info is.

imsayin, just to let you know most likly that employee was misinformed,I have worked for Kohl's for more than 3 years. and in that time i have never heard a manager tell a customer no EVER. even to the point that we have taken things back that we dont even sell.

That reminds of when I worked at TDS and we had a guest swearing to us that they bought that Bugs Bunny shirt at our store. Huh? We finally ended up taking it back. :confused3

They did take it back, and i got cash back, no problem! The coats were 70% off, so we got a different one at a great price! Thanks Everyone! :sunny:

KOHL'S! KOHL'S!! KOHL'S!!! I wish they'd open one around here (South FL) as I'm hooked!! I'm a KOHL's ADDICT!! LOL!!

First went there last summer when visiting family in Atlanta. I applied for a charge since they said they'd be opening stores in Florida. But so far only north and central FL have seen them:(

I've been hearing radio ads for them a lot lately HERE, but the closest KOHL's is 10 minutes from WDW!! (which is almost 3 hrs from here) LOL!! That's one of our stops everytime we go to WDW as we pass one of the stores right on the way in :teeth: Even 7 yr old dd looks forward to our Kohl's visits when we go to WDW!! But, I buy a lot because I don't know when I can get back there...so I have to budget it into our trip $$$!! LOL!!

Sorry didnt' mean to change the topic but everyone here thinks I'm nuts when I mention KOHL's and how badly I wish one would open close by, no one here has heard of them!! Shopping on their website just isn't the same-they don't have the same mds.
