So, this is a rough time of the year.

We are going to my ILs for Easter. I made B a dress:

I don't like it too much, and might make a different one. It's probably Ok for their church, but I feel like i could make something prettier.

We decided to buy a book to help explain to the kids about the reason for and meaning of Easter (max and Ruby's Easter Surprise just doesn't cut it.). Now B is obsessed with death and "coming back". ("If the cat died, would he come back?" "my dollie did" etc.) I got a note home from school about it, asking about her obsession with the topic. I have no explanation. They both just accept the Easter Bunny, too, which makes it even more confusing.

Explaining how Mickey knew who her favorite princess is, is sooooo much easier.

I dunno...the whole "came back from the dead" thing is what's weirding her out. I just said the Pharoah was a "mean guy" and that he was "grumpy". We explained passover, too. (we are non-church goers, so we explain all of the holidays. We celebrate the Christian ones through tradition and family pressure....no flaming please!)

I can see where the coming back from the dead part would be difficult. I haven't tackled that one yet, I think (it's possible we had a brief discussion with ds that I have forgotten, last year or so. But I think I managed to avoid it, because I'm not as comfortable explaining it.) I'm big into "Some people believe X" but I have a hard time with certain ones. Actually, I also have a hard time explaining why people are so mean sometimes - and ds, my sensitive one, tends to ask stuff like that.

I am all about high end shoes. I need to be able to walk 2-3 miles comfortably in them to even consider them. Yes ALL of the shoe porn shoes pass that test.

That being said....I have over 100 pair of shoes and need to pare down...
