Knott's Merry Farm -- Worth It?

We are planning a December 2013 trip and I'm already eying the days and traffic flow for when we want to go to DLR, trying to plan timing and most importantly, budget. Our ILs will likely go with us as we are flying to their house and driving in from the desert (and will return to spend Christmas there).

I was planning at least 3 days at DLR, maybe 4. MIL keeps encouraging us to go to KBF, saying the kids would love it. In all my 15+ years of living in SoCal, I have to confess I never went to KBF -- just hit DLR a lot. Do you think it worth it to take a day and hit KBF? or should I give the extra day to DLR and do 4 days at DLR? The kids will be 4 and 6 at the time of our trip and have never been to either park. TIA!
