DH's company is having their annual picnic at Knoebels next month. They are having a catered luncheon. But, I hear that Knoebels has some really good food that I would like to try. So, tell me what is your favorite stuff to eat when you are at the park??? Thanks in advance.

They have the best funnel cakes ever! We like the International Food Court, too -- it's at the back of the park near the log flume. Everyone can have something they like here (I love their taco salads). And the pierogies from the round stand near the Haunted House are good, too. We've actually never had a sit-down meal at the Alamo (who wants to take the time?!), but I hear they're good. We also never leave without a visit to the nut and fudge shop, but that's something you can take home.

If I were you I'd eat the picnic food and then have a few snacks later in the day from the places that most appeal to you. Have fun! Ride the Phoenix once or twice for me. We go a couple of times each summer and it's just about my favorite place in the whole world.

We've been to several company picnics at Knoebels, and their "picnic" food isn't that great. But, it's included, so eat up....and save room for ice cream from the ice cream place (I think it's called the Mill or the Old Mill or something similar). The ice cream is so yummy! The pizza is also very good...we've already bought a whole pie for our family for dinner. It's cheaper than everyone getting their own thing.

Oh, and the potato triangles were yummy too...but they are basically fried hashbrowns.

Funnel cake is the best I've ever had. And the FUDGE!! Delicious!

Really you can't go wrong but for snacks- those are my 2 top picks. And on the funnel cake- it is soft and sugary everything a funnel cake should be.

funnel cakes...check
ice cream at the old mill...check
pizza...check
taco salad...check
pierogies...check
fudge...check

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I have already told DH we probably wouldn't take advantage of the catered luncheon. He didn't seem too bothered by that. Less time he has to spend with his coworkers, if you know what I mean.;) Any more suggestions?

Everything! There's a reason they've won the Golden Ticket award for food 7 years in a row... yum! :woohoo: I love the fact that they have such an incredible variety for an amusement park - so much more than hot dogs and hamburgers.

My personal faves:
- Philly cheesesteak sandwich at the food court
- Mac bites at the Wharf (deep fried mac and cheese nuggets - you can feel your arteries clogging as you eat them - but oh so good! :rotfl2: )
- Traveling taco from Roaring Creek Saloon

Browse their food menu here:

If nothing else, you have to get something that requires ketchup just so you can milk the "ketchup cow" as we lovingly call it... :rotfl:

I am hoping to get there next month too! I am a Knoebles junkie having grown up there. I would say the candy and carmel apples, the pizza, the fudge, the hot sausage, and the fresh roasted peanuts. Man I cannot wait to go back. We have kennywood here, but it is not the same.

Oh please ride the train for me. I love that ride. Enjoy your trip!

Well, the train may be the only ride we can ride after we eat our way through the park.:lmao: I can't believe I have never been to Knoebels before. I can't wait!!

You have to get an warm apple dumpling w/ice cream across from the train.. most people don't know about it

Also the funnel cakes are great, they are near the bumper cars.

We just returned last week.

Love:

Funnel Cakes
Tri-Tators
Tacos from International Food Court
Chicken & Waffles from the Alamo
Cesari's Pizza

* Needed to add, love my pickle on a stick (haha)

TriTaters
Waffles with ice cream
Crab Cakes from the Steak Place (I realize that sounds silly, but that's where they are and they are good!)

I've been underwhelmed at the Alamo, so-so food and too much time away from the rides!

fresh roasted peanuts

(I think in the back of the fudge place-stone building near the high speed pitch game)

Oooooooh YES, waffles and Ice Cream!
A staple with our family. :woohoo:

It's called Stoney Gables Fudge and Nut Shop-good place to pick up some goodies for the next day. It's located near the speed pitch game/park office/Flyers/Roto-Jets. It's also well air-conditioned if you end up there on a hot day ;) .

My personal favorites are:

Cesari's pizza (by the Tilt-a-Whirl)
ice cream waffles (at the Round Stand between Cesari's and The Mill)
pierogies (deep fried) at the Round Stand
hard ice cream at The Mill (it's Hershey's ice cream)
funnel cake
fresh cut french fries (next to the Alamo)
popcorn from Totem Treats in kiddie land (I got addicted while working there)

I also bring home:
-fresh roasted peanuts (don't wait too late at night to pick them up because they stop making them and start cleaning up around 9:30 usually)
-carmel corn from over by the salt-n-pepper shakers and swings

Their chicken barbeque next to the Alamo is pretty good too, if you want to sit down for a full meal (and sometimes companies will order the chicken for their picnics as well).

Have a great time!

Great !!!!!These are some of the highlight of the best. AAAAAAA ++++++ TIPS Must haves on out family trips
If his company is setting up the chicken/burger/dogs and salads they are OK, but nothing like the food fair inside.

If you are taking a picknic lunch we pack water bottles, capri sips, soda cans in a smaller cooler to take in with us and the stroller. There are water fountains and back by MILL, the log cutter and wagon shop the best coffee for later in the day. The Pizza is a great late night eat.

If you need to eat one picnic meal, can you just pack some cold meats and rolls, salads, and cut up mellon pieces to get you started?

Our company has their outing and the food is tons of it and it is OK, a lot of variety and we are not hungry for a long time. There is soda fountain, tons of chicken, dogs burgers, salads, icecream cups, And they have to put the food away!

They also provide us ticket packets of $5 each person and they are good for rides, food, or playing the arcade type games on the strip.

AAA sells the books for $4. On the weekdays there are day long passes. No entry fee for the park, no fee to park, We generally get away with about $30 in ticket books and then food money.
Sure beats Dorney. Plus the friendlyness is great.

The most fun for the least money we ever spent,
The music, preformances, go in the museum for coal if it rains, The pool area great, we are trying the kids pool park in the next week.

Wow! You guys have given me a lot to choose from. Does anyone know if they sell the candied almonds or pecans anywhere in the park?

Yes They do!! I live about 30 minutes away and am there a couple of times a month. It is I believe across fron The North Pole Christmas store.

Another goodie is slices apples served with caramel and whipped cream!Really gooey and good.

Im not a peanut person but they always smell good and I wind up laying out the whopping $1 for half a lb.So delicious.

Agree on the crab cakes and pizza. The best around.

DH eats alligator bited and bison burgers at the international food court. Not my thing but he loves them.

Oh and the fresh squeezed lemonade fron the big lemon building(outside near the pool area) is good too!

Told you Im there all the time!! LOL
