Be sure to check out neighboring Centralia. Centralia is a town which has had a fire burning under it for a long time (30 years maybe?). ITs sort of a "modern" ghost town. Last time I checked there were still some residents in the town, but most it looks like the the whole town up and left.

Actually burning since 1961. It is an interesting story and a very strange experience to drive through and see the smoke coming from underground. Some fascinating links by going through Google.

Camp Snoopy does not cost extra money from the regular admit ticket at Dorney. Wildwater Kingdom, the water park is also included in price.

They have put new rides in every year at Dorney. This past year was a flat ride, and they are building a new coaster to be done in 2005.

Depending on your age, Dorney woudl be better.

Personally, I would do Dorney over Knoebels.

We haven't been to Knoebels, so I can't help you with that. However, we went to Dorney last summer and loved it. We went on a Friday and the lines were not bad at all. It was a little busy at the water slides, but other than that not bad at all. I brought my 4 kids, between the ages of 3 and 15 and we all found things to do. The water area was a lot of fun and we spent hours in the interactive water area that is similar to the Curious George area at Universal, but even better. I was a little kid and at one time got my 15yo to watch the 3yo because I was having too much fun squirting unsuspecting people. Having it to do over again I would hit the water area first, then the raft ride, and then change into dry clothes and do the amusement rides. That way we would be done with the water slides before that area was too crowded..

We aren't going to make it back to Dorney this summer, but we did go to Kennywood and Sandcastle near Pittsburgh last month and are going to Hershey Park tomorrow. We'll go back to Dorney next summer, though!
