Is there anywhere on WDW property that serves Knishes???????

LOL I've found that most people outside of the east coast (I'm in NYC) have no idea what a knish is! I've described them to people and they look at me like I have two heads.

I didn't find any knish but I looooove the cherry cheese blintz at Chef Mickey's

We've got them here in south Florida, but then all of New York retires here. :smokin:

Yep, my barbecue-and-collard-green-lovin' DH had never heard of them either, but now that he's tried them, he's hooked.

There is a great place in Orlando that sells real knishes -- Bagel King. They have two locations, but neither are close to WDW. Lucky for me, one location is across the street from my Mom's house. Sigh -- I wish they delivered to Tallahassee.

I'm from Brooklyn, live ONLY 90 miles away now in the Poconos....and you get the same weird looks here!

You would think WDW would sell them @ the Boardwalk at least! So much for WDW FINE dining!!!!! :confused3

Wish I knew what a knish was.

Ok this is gonna sound weird, but this is exactly what they are...

Mashed potato (not a loose mash but a thick mash) with onion (onion isn't really something you see but you can taste it). The potato is wrapped inside a crust and they're fried in a dry pan or if you get one from a hot dog (dirty water dog) cart they usually cook 'em on a grill on a piece of aluminum foil.

The best way to eat 'em is to have them split open and smeared with mustard. YUM YUM now I want one. Might have to go to the Jewish deli for dinner! <g>

See post #9..there may be a Bagel King near you!

For anyone who grew up in NY during the 30-70's....Besides Jewish Deli's (which I miss SOOOOOOOOOOOO much) . They were sold on the beaches of Brooklyn, Queens & The Bronx, every summer!
Men use to walk around the whole beach carrying Hot Boxes (the size of coolers) full of Knishes...yelling KNIIIIISHES, GEEEEEET YOUR HOT KNISHES HERE! :beach:

Knishes was VERY popular in the beachs & boardwark eateries. As a side note if you had a knish in a deli...you had to have it with cream soda...if you had a knish on the beach...you had to drink, orange aid from a waxed funnel container!!!!
(people from NY understand this all too well...You had to be there!)

I always got sand in my knish...it added flavor!!!! :p I like mine with not only Brown mustard, but lots of salt! Oh Yeah THE Square ones are soooo much better than the round ones!!!!

They are VERY hard to explain...especially when it comes to the covering! Crust? Whatever it is? :rotfl2:

I had one for lunch today. I buy the Gabila's from the grocery store! But they aren't just potato, they come with kasha, and sweet potato and other fillings too. But yes they are yummy!

Where in Massachusetts? The deli counter in Stop & Shop usually has two or three varieties.
