Kitty question #1- Does your cat play with cat toys?

Mr. Dilbert comes out whenever she's feeling especially sad, so if we leave the house we'll usually find Mr. Dilbert in the place we were last sitting or sleeping.

Awwww, that's kind of sad, but sweet!

My cat likes the little stuffed toys with the catnip in them, my hair ties and the balls with bells in them. He also when he was younger liked plastic bottle caps. He'll bring me one of his toys and we will play fetch for awhile and then every morning I woke up to him and his zillion toys in bed with me. All I can imagine is him bringing them all to me in his mouth one by one hoping I'll wake up and play with him during the night. Then when I get home from work they will all be in or around his food bowl. I guess he figured he would feed them or something. I don't know.

Many of you have mentioned those plastic things that come off the tops of milk cartons. I'm surprised the milk companies haven't taken notice and started advertising a two-for-one deal. Get a free kitty toy with every purchase of our milk! :rotfl2:

Stitch loves balls of aluminum foil. He bats them all around the house. Sox likes the mice in a package. Neither cat likes anything catnip.

Trouble the Cat loves wand thingies...especially with feathers on the end. She loves to play with it and will carry it around the house all proud. Reminds me of how a tiger would carry her pray.

She also loves hair ties, crinkly balls, and my used balled up socks. I had a new guy friend over once and she came out carrying one of my dirty socks! I suppose it could have been worse...

Our cats, Mikey and Tigerlily, like to play with feathers, string and pipe cleaners. Scatter a bunch of pipecleaners about and they will be happy for a long while.............

Snow is an old man and doesn't really like cat toys. He likes to take hold of your hand as you are petting him. He can get rough sometimes so I refuse to play that game. He other favorite game is the chase-me game. He annoys you until you follow him to wherever he pleases. Cleo is old but sometimes she will get playful. She likes to play with straws. She bats them around and chews them up. I find them all over the house. Max aka Doodle is still a kitten. He loves the little stuffed mice. He sits on the stairs and waits for you to throw them to him. Usually he bats them back but sometimes he just sits on them as if they will hatch. That is until the dog steals it. If Max is in my room and annoying me I throw him his favorite lime green shoelace. He loves to play with it and it keeps him from doing figure 8's around my feet.

There are a lot of cat toys on the market, but Henry will only play with the little soft mice that come three or five to a pack. They're only about two inches long, (four if you include the tail), and have white heads, pink ears, and various colored bodies. Henry LOVES these mice!

He goes wild if you hold one from the tail and dangle it anywhere him. We have to warn company not to pick up any of the mice if Henry is in the room because he'll leap up and grab it, accidentally taking part of their finger with it. :)

We've tried other toys, but he's usually frightened if the toy is too big or makes any type of noise. He does like to chase string, though. Cheap toy!

How about your kitty?

The ones with real fur that feel like real mice? My girls LOVE those! They bring them to me like they are their "kill" and a present for me.

They also like twist ties, milk jug lids, rubber bands, rubber wrist bands (like the Livestrong ones), crumpled up paper and paper bags, and catnip.

Oh, I forgot another one!

Trouble loves to chew on cardboard. I give the bunnies cardboard boxes and toilet paper tubes to chew. Trouble will "steal" the tubes or will hop into the bunnies' boxes to chew on them. I think that she learned this from the bunnies...

Binky absolutely loves the little rabbit fur mice everyone is talking about, She snags one than deposits it for me to find, she screams and screams until I acknowledge what a great little hunter she is ( I honestly believe she thinks she caught a real mouse!) I find her standing outside my shower screaming with one and dropping it when I acknowledge her, it's a very distinct meow too so I always know when she is coming with one, I once found one in my tennis shoe when I was unpacking at the WL I guess she wanted me to remember her! My others love the milk ring things and also hair scrunchies.

My two cats don't play with the usual cat toys. They would much rather take the ring that comes off the milk when you open it or the twist ties from bread. They also enjoy my hair ties.

My cat is the same way ! she has a bunch of toys and loses interest in about an hour, now give her a plastic bag and she'll be happy for days :lmao:

My MIL's cat, Romeo, loves the little mice, but his favorite toys come out of her quilting supplies. He's a clever boy, and has figured out how to unlatch her cabinet and baskets of stuff. He likes to find long, thin strips of fabric or batting and he'll carry them around the house for a while before depositing them IN his water dish. He also LOVES pom-poms of all kinds, and one of his favorite games is to have someone throw the pom-poms up the stairs, and Romeo races up to get the pom-pom, then brings it back down to you.

When MIL gets up in the morning or comes home for the day, she'll usually discover Romeo's water bowl full of fabric and batting scraps and pom-poms scattered around the house. Sometimes when she's cleaning behind or under furniture, she'll discover a pile of fabric and batting scraps with a few pom-poms tucked in the "nest". Romeo gets very upset when she "cleans up" his piles of "toys", and goes on a tear through the house trying to collect more scraps, then he hides them somewhere else.
