Who out there has taken the Kitchen Sink challenge and won?
How many of you did it take to bring it down?
And how many of you can say that you tried - but ultimately didn't have what it took to claim success.
If you have some pictures of your attempt even better :goodvibes

We did it in 2008 with 6 of us, and again in 2009 with 8 - and to be honest it was pretty easy to do (especially with a chocoholic teenager on board :thumbsup2).
Next time we go I am determined that we will defeat it with just 4 (or maybe I will skip lunch and try it on my own :rolleyes1)

Who else can join the Kitchen Sink Wall of Fame :worship:

I've never tried it, but looking at the pics, I've always wondered if its as intimidating as it looks in pictures.

Four of us (2 adults 2 kids) tried it and failed, but enjoyed every minute of it:)
Must remember next time not to have burger and fries first:rotfl:

We tried in 2007 - just myself and DH and DD who was 22 months. Failed.

TBH all the toppings and fake cream - I wasn't wowed.

We did a smaller one this trip at ben and jerry in Universal - a miniVermonster but there was nothing mini about it. 4 scoops, 3 toppings, cream, chocolate and caramel sauce. Will try and post a pic - much more manageable by the smaller family. Comes in a bucket you can keep. Cost $14.99

i would love to try this but like many other I am always too tempted by the burgers and fries before :D

I am impressed that anyone can manage this as the photos look very intimidating :worship: ;)

3 of us, almost but not quite.
Not a massive fan, its a great novelty but far nicer desserts/icecream out there. I personally preferred the one at T-Rex which is about $7-8 cheaper.
Would rather have a Dole whip at the Poly or Capt Jacks at Orlando Ale house.....loads more. Maybe again some day but its not high on my list.

my problem with it is all the flavours i hate...
if it were the same size but only hot fudge and chocolate ice cream i'd give it a go....i bet i'd put a pretty good dent in it, if not finish the whole thing..

but i can't abide all those other yucky flavours in it....so i won't be trying it any time soon...

If we had it again I would ask for certain flavours, probably all vanilla, wouldn't have all the mixed flavours again.

I know Ghiradelli at DTD offer a similar thing called the earthquake for $30

A normal sundae was too much for me there

No problem..................... DH is a chocoholic with a very sweet tooth. Once (after having a starter and entree) at the Rainforest Cafe he ordered the peanut butter cheesecake (turned out to be a quarter of a cheesecake - not just a slice), while DS & DNiece and other DNiece and her husband ordered two volcanoes (large desert for sharing). DH polished off his cheesecake in record time then finished both the volcanoes after the younger crew failed miserably to make much of a dent in them. :rotfl2: Amatuers! :lmao:

Might try a Mini vermonster next time we are there, with AP 10% discount that looks a good buy.:thumbsup2

i saw someone order a huge sundae in a sand pail at blizzard beach - one person by himself....i didn't see whether he finished it or not...we finished our hot fudge sundaes just as he was beginning his...

I didn't think it was so big but its a few years since we had it, you can see from this pic the size of the hands holding it

Sand Pail - Chocolate and vanilla soft serve ice cream, waffle pieces, sprinkles, cookie pieces, hot fudge, caramel sauce, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. - $9.99

nice picture!! - that's the one and it looks pretty big to me...
on second thought, i don't think i'd make much of a dent in the kitchen sink if that one looks too much to me!!..

maybe DH....he has a bottomless sweet tooth, even worse than mine...

I suppose it what you are comparing it to, next to a regular icecream cone yes its huge, next to the kitchen sink not so huge, it's soft serve but I'd say equivalent to approx 3 scoops whereas the kitchen sink is 8 scoops which they top of with a whole can of whipped cream but its only $10 compared to $24

hmmm...8 scoops of chocolate? don't think so....maybe if i hadn't eaten all day...but i'd probably be sick as a dog afterwards..
