Kitchen Sink Champions

It took 6 of us to finish it. We did it! It was a fun experience. It always makes me laugh to see my DD14 face when we talk about it. I think she ate a little to much. She was determined to finish it. :rotfl2:

I had shown the video of the kitchen sink before we went at work. First day back, tanned, tired and ticked off with being back in -it was the only thing people wanted to know "Did you finish the kitchen sink?"

Well....5 of us put up an average performance. Ashamed to say the brute got the better of us :worship: curses! I will seek my revenge one day.....

We threw away a golden opportunity this year -I always say we can't try it as there are only two of us, but we met with friends and I never even thought to suggest we turn it into a team sport. :guilty:

I would probably make more effort to try get some back up and give it a go if we could lose the cream though

i saw someone order a huge sundae in a sand pail at blizzard beach - one person by himself....i didn't see whether he finished it or not...we finished our hot fudge sundaes just as he was beginning his...

Now those fudge sundaes are absolutely :worship::worship::worship:

How have I never seen this before??? I want one! :rotfl:

Im sure I am obvlivious to half the stuff that goes on in WDW!

We were at Beaches and Cream last week.:cloud9:
We were sat at the counter, right next to where they are making up the various sundeas.
We were taking alot of photos, as they where making up a kitchen sink so the server told us the record for one person eating it is 9 minutes, and he never got brain freeze.

If we go with my fellow DISbrides in 2013 the 6 of us are going to give it a go.

You can ask for the sweets and sauce to be served separately which is much nicer at beaches and cream. I have never tried adole whip so plan to have one this trip

oh my goodness, they all look yummy :goodvibes I have never heard of this before, otherwise I'm sure we would have given it a go! :thumbsup2

I know! That's the beauty of the dis you are able to learn about so much stuff from other people, which really helps as let's face it a trip to Florida is not the same sort of holiday as 2 weeks on the beach!

You're so right about that!!

Actually, the first year we went, even though I had been lurking and gleaning info from the DIS for some time, I didn't know about the dole whips. We were merrily walking past Aloha Isle at MK one afternoon and I saw people with a pineapple dole float (I like the float version of it). Being of a somewhat brazen nature  I walked right up to them and asked: "Excuse me, what is that called and where can we get one?" The rest, as they say, is history. I couldn't tell you how many of those we have consumed in the years since then :rolleyes1

If you ever listen to DIS podcast......this was a favourite of the late Bob Varley :goodvibes
I made a note of this and had one one every visit since :cloud9:
I much prefer the pineapple version to the plain Doles

Told DW on our next trip, I want to take the challenge. I don't think I can do it by myself. There will be 3 of us (DW, D'sis and myself). I will have to see if they are up to the challenge with me.

Now that I see the one from Ben & Jerry's, I might be tempted to try that one instead. Can't wait.

This is my sis and nephew, bravely starting on their journey of ice-cream heaven and hell - all mixed in one glorious sink :goodvibes

And this is DS on a different occasion as he gets ready to dive in

Sorry for the size - I didnt realise they were that small until after I had uploaded them. I will change them as soon as I get the chance

I had the float version for the first time this year...
i was about to order my regular dole whip when i noticed on the sign that the float was also a snack credit - even though it costs $4.99..

so of course, always wanting to get the best bang for every credit, i ordered it not even knowing if i'd like it....
absolutely FABULOUS!!!! :thumbsup2
so much better than the plain dole whip!!!
really tasty and the ice cold pinapple juice was so good on a hot day!!!!
i'm hooked....only the floats for me now!!

I really need the cold juice with it. Icecream makes me thirsty. That said, DD and I always share one. I could never manage a whole dole whip float. I think we just drink so much more in the heat so there is never enough room to eat as much as we want to

I love both Pineapple juice and Dole whip, I just prefer them seperate, I also prefer to make my own Dole Whip at the Poly. In MK they know how to give you as little as possible, spiral around the edge to look good but leave the centre hollow, at the Poly I get my money's(Dining credit) worth:lmao:

Karen and Matt both want a drink with Icecream, something I never understand, obviously they are not alone but they also drink with a meal, I almost always eat first then drink at the end.

Beaches & Cream do Sundaes which are nicer than the Kitchen sink IMO, this was one Karen had. They are better value than Ghirardelli's, I think their have got smaller and too expensive for what they are.

Edit to say we shared this, wasn't just Karen's, I am making her look greedy (I spotted the 3 spoons)

We had the ice cream in the bucket at Blizzard beach...it was lovely but too big, 6 of us ate it...don't think we could ever manage the kitchen sink:rotfl:

If 6 shared that you don't stand a chance with the Kitchen sink :rotfl2:
