I'm just wondering what kinds of kitchen scales you use to weight your food portions. I have a cheap-o plastic one that i'm sure isn't accurate. I'm thinking of getting a digital one but i'm looking for opinions and such...prices you paid, where you got them etc. One that has a bowl for weighing chips (for those little treats once in a while) is something i'm thinking about as well.

Any info you can give would be appriciated.

Thanks all!

I don't use a kitchen scale.

I don't eat chips either :p but if I did....I'd check out how many servings are in the bag. Then I'd use a zip-loc bag for each serving and divide the chips up. I think you'd get a pretty quick idea of what a serving looks like that way.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I got my scale at my WW's meeting. It's the digital one. I also have heard they have nice digital ones at Target (and probably Wal-mart too). Mine was $39, and I think the ones at Target are a little less.

I used to have a cheap plastic one and it worked ok for the time, but I absolutely love my digital one. I can be so accurate when measureing 1 oz cheese, 2 oz meat, 1 oz nuts etc. I use it daily and it really is worth the money, at least for WW purposes. Not sure what plan you are on.

We just bought one from The Sharper Image on ebay for $35, they offered free shipping too. It is electronic, lightweight, and small. About the size of a large calculator.

It is a flat surface, but you can place a bowl on it them zero it if you need too.

It really helps for cheese, nuts, etc. We have only had it for a week so I am still finding new ways to use it.

We do WW.

I have a digital also....kind of strange! I just looked at it, and it has a model # on it, but I don't see a manufacturer name! It has a 4.5 pound capacity - and you can measure in pounds or ounces, plus it also has a "tare" button so you can put your own bowl, etc. on it, and measure into that. It's also great if you want to put in additional foods....just hit "tare" after each addition and start from zero again. I'd highly recommend one like it.
