On 60 Minutes this morning, they had a segment about Kit Kat candy bars being a national obsession in Japan, and that they sell all kinds of other flavors there. Has anyone seen any interesting Kit Kat flavors in the stores in Japan in Epcot? Some of them looked really good (not the purple sweet potato, but strawberry looked awesome).

I watched that this morning, too. I think I do remember seeing some weird Kit Kat flavors at Epcot, I'm not positive.

At work, I trained a couple of guys from India in January. They were anxious to buy chocolate because they said all they have is Kit Kat at home.

I have traveled to Japan many times for work and flavoreded kit kats have been popular for as long as I can remember. I LOVE the green tea ones. Our local World Market always has some different flavors.

We've had the green tea ones. My middle daughter loves them. I looked on Amazon and you can get some there, but they're pretty pricey.

If you have an Asian market anywhere near your home, they often have them there, too. I can get all kinds of crazy flavors near me.

It's not hard to find someone that specializes in selling products from other countries to order from. You don't need to wait for epcot and WDW to get them and usually epcot would be the highest price you can find them. Amazon also tends to be high so look for specialty shops or local vendors like asian groceries or any country really. When I was growing up, there was a local butcher and everyone that worked there was german. They had the best german candies and other things I couldn't read the label.

Yes, I'm in NY and we have a local Korean market that always has green tea and other flavors.

I have been able to get the green tea Kit Kats in the Japan World Showcase store in the past, but I have not seen them there for a while now. They have green tea Pocky and other such delights. But, your question was about Kit Kats and ....not lately.

We were there on Monday (4/3) and they had green tea and a dark chocolate with cranberries & almonds, but none of those really cool flavors you see online. Both were bags filled with miniatures and sold for about $10.

We do! I mentioned this to hubby this morning. There's a huge Japanese store about half an hour away, which we've never been to, because we have a lot of Japanese manufacturing companies in the area. I'll have to check that out.

Someone at work gave me a green tea one, it was different at first, but really good! I was sad it was only a mini one!

Waaay in the back at Mitsukoshi, where they sell food and chopsticks, dishes, etc. In November, there was a big display, we brought home a bag full of green tea, plus my DD buys all the Pocky she can find there, so we spend time shopping the candy lol.

It's actually a great thing we do in most countries, we try a snack or candy just to get a feel for that country's tastes.

I don't think the flavors get as wild as they do in Japan. The Kit Kat stores there always have something unique, when I went a month ago, I got Butter flavor and a Pistachio & Grapefruit flavor.
