Do I really need to be concerned about arriving early to get kids club ressies? I can understand that the Palo ones might be more difficult? At what time do they start making the ressies and where should I go for each?

You only need to make reservations for the kids club for little kids (under 3 years old) in the nursery (Flounder's Reef). Otherwise, you are just registering the kids for the club or lab, and you don't need to be there early for that. We were delayed, didn't get on board until after 3pm, were able to partly fill out the paperwork in the Lab before the lifeboat drill and finished up at the Lab when the kids returned after dinner.

Getting Palo reservations is another story -- I think it depends on which cruise you are doing (easier on 7 day than other cruises), and if you are picky about what time/day you want to go. For example, if you don't want to miss your first night in Animator's Palate or the Pirate dinner and after party.

If you aren't able to get Palo reservations the first day, keep checking back. We put our name on the wait list for Brunch - even though it was 4 pages long. We were able to go to brunch. Then when we told out waiter that we wanted dinner ressies too, he managed to fit us in on the same night. Needless to say, we were very full, but we had a wonderful experience at both.

Also, DCL only allows a certain number of kids in each group to even make a reservation (that's why you're asked the age of your kids when you make a reservation). So if you've got a reservation, there will be room for your kids in their respective age group "clubs" - this last cruise, we signed our daughter up in the cruise terminal.

We walked on the ship about 12:45 - Palo reservations started at 1 - there was no line. We had no trouble getting reservations. The first night is often easiest to get reservations. Well worth putting on a jacket or tie or both.
