Hey,

Can anybody tell me what happens if I have a reservation for the FD dates before the dates come available? Do they honor the FD after I've made the ressies?

Thanks!

If your current Disney reservation package falls within the Free Dining dates, then all you have to do is call Disney when the FD code comes out and have them add it to your package so you can receive the discount. If you have already paid in full they will refund you the difference.

Not true. If you have a reservation for courtyard view at WL and that category is NOT included in this promotion, then that family would have to rebook one of the categories that is included in the promotion. This promotion is to fill rooms in resorts that have availability. I would not be surprised to see some resorts are already not available for the FD. Since the UK guest started booking FD months ago and alot of folks got the pin code for FD, this has already affected what resorts will be available. Holding a reservation does not guarantee that they person can add the new promotion to it. Of course they can certainly try, but they should be aware that it may not be as simple as you described and they should have a backup plan.

It's not true that she can call and add the code to her exisiting reservation?

Of course, there is limitied availability, but if she's calls the day the code comes out she has a pretty good chance of not having to switch her resort. Even if she does have to switch resorts, it's not that big of a deal, especially when you are saving a lot of money with that discount.

Thanks for the responses! I haven't reserve any room yet, but I'm about to. My 30th Bday is coming up this year (Aug 27th:dance3:) and I want to spend it in DISNEY!!!

She CAN call and add the code to her existing ressie IF her particular resort/room type is available with the free dining code. Having a reservation already in place does not guarantee the availability of a code/special. Calling the very first day the promo comes out definitely has its advantages.......but what the pp is saying is that not EVERY room category at EVERY resort is available for free dining, whether it's booked prior to or as soon as the promo is released.

Yes, I'm aware of all that, I even agreed to that in my second post. The pp started off her response with NOT TRUE, when in fact, it is true that you can add a code to an exisiting reservation. All I forgot to remind the OP about was the fact that each resort is only allotted so many rooms and the she may want to have a back up. It's all moot at this point anyways, the OP doesn't even have a reservation.
