I think DH, DS, DD and I are going out to dinner Saturday night, but nothing else. We're always crazy busy this time of year - and add to that painting the dining room this weekend. 
The only thing I asked for my birthday was for DH to take the kids out shopping or something while I paint in peace.
OK, guys. Remember that weigh-in that I was going to embrace? Well I just got back. I gained 1.5 pounds. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I basically starved myself and sweated off 3 or 4 pounds since Monday. Not good. I know. (I told myself to just embrace the gain, but I couldn't let it be THAT bad )
Nancy smacked me back into reality and now I know that I can't eat as little as I have been. I need to get in my 3 proteins, fruits and veggies EVERY DAY. If I cheat beyond that, it's ok. But I have to make sure I get that fuel in there if I'm running (and on my running days or nights before, have some carbs). I don't weigh in with her again until February 1st and I absolutely, positively WILL be back down under 120 for that visit (without starving myself).
I'm going back to journaling my food on paper (and probably here) and then weighing myself at home on Monday mornings. Stay tuned....
(and since this is a non-party related post) - I'm going to see g-mom tonight. She's not doing well. Please continue your prayers for her to find peace.

Thank you SO SO SO SO SO much, guys!
I'm so excited that my birthday is here, even if I am getting older! I have to compare myself today to the me I was on my birthday last year. I am a healthier and happier me this year! Thanks so much to you guys for your support this year. I couldn't have done it without you. 
Jen - you're right about the starving myself. Been there. Done that. Not going back again. I know I'll make up for it this weekend!! (not journaling the food until Monday! )
My visit with my grandmom was both bad and good last night. She's definitely at the point where they are keeping her comfortable and not really "treating" her for anything. We had an awesome conversation that left us both bawling our eyes out. We said our goodbyes and I told her she doesn't have to fight anymore if she's tired of fighting.Let me tell ya - that was the HARDEST thing Ive ever done in my life. She is the most special relative I have next to my mom. We've always had a truly special bond, her and I. (oh yeah, I'm crying now) We told each other how special we thought each other is and we said I love you's a hundred times. Granted, she might live another few weeks or even months this way...but she brought it up and I went with it. I know that I am fortunate to have had that conversation with her and that's what got me through it. Again, thank you to all of my wonderful WISH friends. You guys have held me up more times than I can count this past year and I am truly grateful for each and every one of you!!
Let's hope that next year all I have to post about is my running/eating healthy and a few parties here & there!!

How wonderful and special that you were able to have such a heart to heart with your grandmom. When I read about the bond you two share, it really reminded me of the bond my grandfather and I shared. We were able to say our good-byes (although I didn't really believe that was our good-bye) and it means the world to me, 5yrs later. May you always cherish that special moment between you two.
