Hi guys. No news on mom yet, but I did just weigh in with Nancy. I'm down 2 pounds since my last weigh in 2 weeks ago. shocker to me!! I feel like I've been eating like crap. I guess my eating like crap now isn't how I used to eat like crap back in the old days.

I am now weighing in once a month. I told Nancy I was confident that I could handle it, and if I feel myself slipping then I'd give her a call.

Just wanted to post before the day got away from me.

Hi guys. I went to see mom tonight. She's in good spirits, but without answers still. She went for a bone scan today and we're still waiting for those results. She is going for a liver ultrasound tonight at 11pm. I just wish she could get some answers. Two different doctors have mentioned the possibility of shingles to her today. I guess it literally could be anything.

Thanks again guys for being here. We're all just hanging in here.

Really quick post - We were just notified that they found a blood clot on her spine. Get this.....they found it TWO DAYS AGO!!!!!

I'll post later. Gotta get some more details. I'm leaving work - I'm no good here right now.

I don't blame ya for being mad....they've known for 2 days!!! i'd be raisin' nine kinds of hell up at that hospital!! What are they doing to treat it?

hang in there...again...call if you need a shoulder....i'm too far away to do much else....although....a plane ticket isn't out of the question!!

Thank you so much guys. Honestly...you guys are holding me up right now.

Mom's doing ok. Had to double her pain meds today as the original dosage wasn't doing the job anymore. No word on what they are gonna do about the clot yet, hoping to hear that tomorrow morning. She's also got what looks like the beginning stage of Shingles. AND her sugar levels are way up...so possible diabetes.

Poor mom, I just wish I could do something for her. You know, all week all I've wanted was answers. Now we have some...so that's good, right? We'll take it from here & work towards getting her better.

I know that you guys are helping me through this...but I almost feel guilty putting all of this info in my "healthy living" journal. Like...do people really want to know all of this?? Yes, I'm still working on me...and did run today. But honestly...I just can't care about that right now.

All I can say about my run this morning is...I couldn't wait for it to be over because that 1/2 hour with only my thoughts was not good for me. Too many thoughts to sort through that early in the morning.

Kim...please keep posting. It's good for you and we all care about you and your mom. I'm just impressed that you got out there and ran...still taking care of yourself too. That's really amazing and you should be proud of that.

So what if it's the "HEALTHY LIVING JOURNAL"....we're still friends and that's what keeps us here. God knows some of us are doing better on our diets than others....(i'm not one of them..) but we are ALWAYS here for each other. Heck...I've been posting for the last 2 weeks about trying to find a d@mn dog!! Of course you should be posting about mom here....where else ya gonna go? No one loves you like we do!!

I'm sure they will take care of the clot soon....you hang in there and take care of you!!
Don't make me buy a plane ticket....it won't be pretty!!

Kim - your positive outlook on things is so admirable...glad you finally got some answers and can now proceed toward getting her better. Running and WISH related things always takes a back seat to family matters....keep your head up and keep us posted! We're all thinking about you and your family.

Hey guys. Again, I can't thank you enough for your support this week (and always). Some new things with mom...

- Yes, she has a clot...but they aren't doing anything about it right now. They aren't worried about it because they don't believe that is the source of her pain.

- As of right now, they are diagnosing her as diabetic. Until she can get everything else straightened out and can be released from the hospital, they are monitoring her sugar. Once she's home, they will do a 3 hour sugar test (similar to pregnant women's diabetes testing).

- Her Bone Scan showed degenerative joint disease. The doctors are also not worried about that right now. They just say that it is part of getting older and everyone gets it. (I'm going to do my own internet research tonight)

- She is scheduled for an endoscopy (camera down the throat) to check for an ulcer and/or a reason for her vomiting and not being able to keep food down since Monday when this all started.

- As of today they don't think she has shingles, since no spots have emerged. So back to the drawing board in looking for the source of her pain.

I guess that's it for now. She's in the hospital until at least Monday, which is one week from her original visit to the ER. She's beyond aggrevated, as you can imagine. She goes in for side pain and will come out with many more issues diagnosed.

I was able to go to Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday with DH and some friends. We had an awesome day, and I really needed the release that the roller coasters provided!! (I actually rode Kingda Ka....It was UNBELIEVABLE).

Thanks again, guys. Hopefully I'll have something more positive to report back with. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!

luckywife - My life isn't usually this chaotic (except for normal kid/husband stuff). You've chosen a crazy time to join in on my journal, but I thank you for coming in, and for the well wishes for my mom.

Kim! Thanks so much for taking the time to post! I'm sorry to hear your mom doesn't have many more answers....keeping my fingers and toes crossed they can figure out the source of her pain and also start helping her with some of the things they've found since she's been there.

You amaze me girl! Such a positive outlook....love your spirit. I just know they'll figure this out and your mom will be home and feeling well again very very soon!!!! Keeping you in my thoughts!!! ((HUGS))
