Kim's new and improved life journal!

Hey guys! Happy Friday!!!!

I wasn't able to go running this morning. Here's a little story...

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but my feet have actually shrunk during this weight loss journey. I have gone from a 6.5 to a 5.5 or 6 in most shoes. My sneakers have been ok because I just tie them tighter, but I've been putting tissues in the toes of my slip on shoes, until I gradually buy new ones to replace them. :rolleyes2

Anyway....yesterday was the first nice day here that I could wear sandals. They were old ones, but they used to be my favorite, most comfortable pair. But I guess with my size change, there was a little too much movement in my sandals as I walked yesterday - because I have a big blister on the sides of both little toes (the outside of my feet).

I actually got up & got dressed to run, and then tried to put on my sneakers...and my toes just throbbed. Hopefully I can figure out a way to wrap them up good before I run tomorrow. I gotta get that run in!

Sorry about the long story...it was much longer than I expected!! :teeth:

Yeah, yeah, yeah...like we're supposed to belive some LAME story about blistered toes!! RIIIGGGHHHHTTTT!!!!! :rolleyes1 We know you Kim....you were in the shooters last night and couldn't wake up this morning!! C'mon, you know the truth....let it out. You'll feel better after admitting it. :thumbsup2
You're among friends - it's ok....we're here for you! :grouphug:

hmmm interesting story..i shall try to remember that one :)

in all seriousness ( i HATE being serious with you! :)) dont run tomorrow if its still sore,,u dont want to do more damage than good..

now , done being serious--where are you?!!? you said you were coming back online!

Hi Kim~

How are your feet today? Please be careful if you go out running. You don't want to make the blisters worse. :grouphug:

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Hey ladies!

I went running this morning. My sneakers didn't hurt when I was putting them on, so I went for it. My right foot blister hurt for maybe the first 2 minutes, but then I forgot all about it.

My run felt great today! Even after having pizza for dinner last night :rolleyes2 I ended up running 2.5 miles (drove it after I ran it) in 26 minutes exactly. I ran 10/walked 3/ran 13. And really felt great. It was actually pretty warm this morning...and it made me worry about this summer when it's actually hot outside for my runs. Hopefully by then I'll be a lot more consistent with my runs and it won't effect me too much.

I really ate bad today. I had 2 parties to go to, and ate at both of them (lunch & dinner). Back on track tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get to spend some alone time with Bob!

Great job on the run Kim. I'm afraid if I start running again, my back will give out on me for good! :guilty:
Anyway, get back on track and let me know how Bob goes.. :rolleyes1
Have a great Sunday!

Whew....what a freakin eat fest this weekend. I don't know what my problem is/was, but once I started eating, I just didn't stop.

No Bob tonight. I had 2 of my nephews sleep over last night, and it was a late to bed, early to rise kind of thing. I am goin to bed VERY soon!

I'll be up to run tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's a 25 minute straight run tomorrow. WHEW...I'm pretty sure I'll be sluggish again... :rolleyes2
I hope you all have a GREAT week!!

Sluggish happens--dont you dare worry about it!
You do what you can and youll get back into it--you can have a cheat weekend now and again--but next weekend is allowed too!!!!
hang in there, youll get back into it

Great job on your run Kim!!! :cheer2: I'm sure you had a great 25 minute run today!

Not to worry about the food....parties happen! :teeth:

Thanks so much, guys. I truly appreciate your encouragement!

I thought about you all when I didn't want to wake up to run this morning (and I had even gone to bed WAY earlier than normal). But I did it...I got out there & ran 2.5 miles in 26 minutes - straight running! :woohoo:

I felt good about 90% of the time. My breathing was pretty good and I wasn't too sluggish. The last 1/2 mile or so my left calf was hurting again. I don't know what the deal is with that. I stretch both of my calves the same every time. :confused3 The only thing I can think of is my left knee has been bothering me lately, and maybe I'm running funky to compensate for that? It's weird, though, because my knee doesn't bother me at all while I'm running...it hurts when I bend my knee completely - like if I were to sit indian style.

And after I was done my run, and walked around the house a little bit after stretching, my calf felt fine. Go figure.

Anyway, my next 3 runs are 25 minute runs...and I plan on running Wed, Fri and Sat or Sun this week.

Have a good one, guys! I weigh in with Nancy again on Thursday.

Kim -- You are doing so GREAT with your running! I hope you are really proud of yourself. You should be!
I know what you mean about the eatfest weekend. Did that this weekend at WDW. UGH! Back on track, right?
Keep up the great work. Being able to do that much distance in under 30 minutes is just awesome!

I can't say enough great things about you all. I appreciate your support, encouragement and help so much. Without you all, and some others that pop in to say hi, I really don't think I would have kept going like I have.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

(I'm not going anywhere....just felt the need to thank you guys!)

Kim - You're welcome! Hey, it's why we are all here...to support each other on our personal WISH goals...I think we are all doing a great job on pushing each other to new successes...congratulations on all of yours! Now get out there and do something (LOL)...

SHEESH...you guys are slave drivers!!! :rolleyes1

Just because of you, I went out & ran this morning. I did the 2.5 miles in just under 26 minutes (25.50 ;)). I felt pretty good. I just never know what to wear. I headed out with long pants & a long sleeve tshirt...and about 1/2 way through I was sweating up a storm. But then again, it was only in the 50's. So what do I do? Do I head out being a little chilly in short sleeves? What do you guys do?

I also wanted to ask...for those of you that have run races already...do you normally train with music? And if so, do you use your mp3 (or whatever else you use to listen to music) during races? I've read that it's frowned upon. And if you didn't use music during your races...how did you do? Did you find it hard at all, or are you just pumped up running in a race, that you don't need it. :confused3

I went to the podiatrist this morning (FINALLY). She was awesome! She asked what I had changed in the past few months (since I said that's how long my feet have been hurting) and I said that I lost almost 30 pounds and I have been running & working out. :rotfl: She was like...yup...that'll do it! hahaha. She was so nice & asked how I did it & about my running. Anyway, it turns out that I have bunyons which cause my 2nd toe in on both feet to carry most of my weight. And with that, I now have pressure calluses under both of my second toes. Not much I can do about it, besides buying more cushioned shoes & stuff like that. She shaved them down and said I'll probably need to get that done about once a month if I keep up the running (which I plan on :thumbsup2 ). She said no more walking around barefoot, even in my house. She suggested slip on sneakers for the support & comfort to hang out in at home.

I am SO happy that it wasn't any more than that. I didn't want anything to stop my running progress at this point. So YIPPEE! I'm doing a little happy dance!

OK - gotta respond to Marie before I go....YES I have been neglecting Bob. And I'll TRY to be better, but I'll tell ya, the mornings I'm not scheduled to run...sleep sounds better than Bob :rotfl2: . And I try at night, but those pesky little kids always need something. Excuses, excuses...I know. :rolleyes2 . And no more mushiness. I can see that really ticked you off! :furious:

Have a great one, guys!!
