I had to laugh about my post over on Scott's thread......how funny would that be to show up for the race on the wrong day. At least I'd get first place!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: So here's the deal with that race.....I'm just going to be coming back from vacation...we'll be down in Virginia the week before the race and driving up on Friday! You're leaving the day after the race....we're going to be some pair out there!!! :goodvibes But it will be so much fun! Can't wait to do it! Now I just have to figure out where we'll be staying? Any hotel recommendations in Ocean City? We used to stay at a motel on the beach down there when I was a kid....I'll to try to figure out which one it was for old times sake!!

Hey guys! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I weighed in with Nancy today and was only up 1/2 pound since 2 weeks ago. I'll take it! I have been eating pretty poorly on weekends for dinner...and I really want to limit splurges to one meal per week. I'm still working on finding that balance between eating and working out and what I need to do to maintain this weight. Fluctuating a pound either way is what I want to keep it to.

Tomorrow is another run day, and I'm looking forward to it. I think I might do some weights with Bob tonight. DH is taking the kids out shopping tomorrow night (gee, I wonder what for... :rolleyes1 ) So I'll have the house to myself to clean at that point. Why worry about it tonight, right? We're under construction at the moment (adding a screen porch and deck on the back) and they're starting to bust through the house to add the sliding doors today. So I have a feeling I'm going home to a BIG mess! I've been taking pics mostly every day, and I'll share soon!

Amy - yes, we'll be quite a pair on Aug 12th! I really can't wait! I've never stayed overnight in O.C., so I don't have any suggestions...but if you need me to run over there & check anything out, I can do that! It's less than 1/2 hour ride for me. And we'll be there next Saturday for the American Heart Association Heart Walk.

Marie - sorry to disappoint ya...no gangreen!! :rotfl2: Any luck finding pics of the jungle room???? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jen- 2 more days til the big AC DIS meet! Can't wait to see ya again!

Have a great one, guys!

Hope you are having a great day and enjoying the mall hahahaha

I shall SEE YOU TOMORROW (yes, be excited)

Hey guys....HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Well, I didn't run this morning (hanging my head in shame). We had a HUGE thunder and rain storm around 4 this morning...and the weather channel had predicted rain all morning. So when I heard the storm, I told myself no running this morning. So I slept through my running time, and DH asked me why I didn't run. I said because it's raining. He laughed, pulled up the shade and showed me the beautiful sunshine!!! :rolleyes1 Oh well, what can you do. I'll be out there tomorrow morning for my last 25 minute run. The next week is 3 - 28 minute runs, so I have to figure out where I'm gonna run for that one.

Have a GREAT weekend! :woohoo:

Hey all!!

Just thought I'd journal about my run this morning. I really, really, really didn't feel like going. I think I do so much better on the days I run before work because I have to get out & go by a certain time. Weekends are harder because I wake up gradually and think of other things I might want to do instead of running. DH talked me into going today instead of tomorrow, so I could have a day off for Mother's Day. (I thanked him after I was done running. Putting if off never works out for me...I would have beat myself up later today if I hadn't gone).

I ran the 2.5 mile course around my neighborhood. The hills seems higher and my pace seemed slower, but when I got to my 1 mile mark, I checked my watch and it was only 9:45 minutes from when I started! I couldn't believe it. Then at my second mile mark I checked my watch again, knowing full well it would be over 10 mins because I definitely felt slower....but NO.....it was at 8:45!!! I was in total shock...and that made me push through and keep up a good pace to finish. I finished in 25 minutes on the dot! So my last 1/2 mile was a slower pace than the first two...but that's ok! I'm THRILLED with finishing in 25 minutes!

Monday I will run the same course, and Wednesday I'll increase to 28 minutes, which means I might add another small block on there and see how it goes. I'm still really afraid of the course we mapped out for the 3.2 miles. It just seems soooooo long. Just one long rectangle of a course. I might have to drive around some more and see if I can come up with a more exciting course for that. I think in 2 weeks, I'll be trying to run that distance! I can't believe it's that close.

Take care all...and have a great weekend!

WOW KIM!! 25 minutes!! THAT'S GREAT!!
oh, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
I hope you're having a nice, relaxing day! Glad DH reminded you to do your run yesterday....that was mighty nice of him! :teeth:

I think i'm gonna go crawl back into bed....i'm tired!
Have a great day Kim...you deserve it!! I'll check in w/ ya later!

Hi Kim,

Great job on your running.....that is awesome!!! Keep up the great work :)

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!!

Happy Monday :)

Hello out there...

I wasn't able to run this morning due to torrential (sp?) rains and thunder. I thought it wouldn't be wise to venture out... :rolleyes2

I'm hoping to meet up with Bob tonight, and run tomorrow.

Hope you all have a GREAT day!

Kim - Great job on that run!!! 25 minutes is incredible! You are doing so well that you won't have a problem at all with 28 minutes or that 3.2 miles! Keep up the great work.

Hi Kim~

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! :goodvibes You are doing a great job! :cheer2: Keep up the good work!

SCARY weather today huh kim?!
Good thing you didnt go running today--talk about bad rain..

now marie, no one said we had to behave...right kim?!

Hope you had a good day my dear and GA is on tonight so i better talk to you soon!!!

Happy HUMP day!!

Today is the first day I went out & ran since Saturday, and I'd say it was the worst run I've ever had. I felt fine until I walked out the door, and a headache immediately hit me. I'm guessing I have an allergy problem this year. I think normall I don't spend all that much time outside...but now with running I'm out & about more. But I pushed ahead and got started.

I finished mile 1 at exactly 10 minutes. I knew I wasn't going as fast as I have gone some other times, but I felt ok. But that second mile really kicked my a$$!! I don't know what happened, but I couldn't control my breathing, my right shoulder started throbbing (normally both of my shoulders feel fatigued during running, if that makes any sense) and I ended up with a side pain at about 1.5 miles. So all in all, a really bad run. When I got to my street, I had the option of continuing straight & going for the 2.5 miles...or turning down my street and finishing at 2.2. I opted for the 2.2 today based on how I felt. I finished at 22 minutes.

How disappointing and depressing! I know I'll be back out there on Friday trying again, so it's ok.

One question I have for my fellow runners....Normally I don't eat or drink anything at all before I head out. I wake up, get changed, brush my teeth & hair and head out. Today I woke up extremely thirsty for some reason. But I ignored it because I was worried about running with something (even water) in my stomach. Do you all put anything in your stomach before running (think back to when you were only running 2.5 miles ;)).

Thanks guys! Hope you have a great day!
