Hi, has anyone got any information about this attraction?
How many vechles are usually being used and how long does it last?

I have a friend who went on it about 2 years ago and they said it was terrible  .

What didn't they like about it? I guess it depends on what you expect from it. We went on it about 2 years ago and had a blast. The kids loved it. I guess it also depends on the time of day and how many animals are out. It wasn't crowded when we went on, we walked right on and the driver was great.

I guess different strokes for different folks. I think you should try it, you might love it.

they said that it seemed really fake and you could see how the animls were being kept in.

maybe they are just being picky:confused: .

I agree...If you are expecting a "thrill" ride you will be disappointed. But if you like a typical Disney experience, well themed, explicitely detailed and, with a little imagination, a very realistic ride through the plains of Africa, then it will be great. If you don't think that attention was paid to detail, check out the tire prints on the surface of the "trial". Nothing was left undone. Go, experience it, enjoy!!

Actually the opposite is true about the animals being "kept in". The impression is that they are free to roam anyplace. Certain allowances had to be made to keep preditor and prey apart because some real life things are not something you would like to witness. They aren't animatronics they are essentually wild animals that have been semi-domesticated by Disney so you can see them up close but natural instincts would, I'm sure kick in if left without some precautions.

These are probably the same type of people who "always know how magician's tricks work" :p ..... I agree that they are just picky.

It must be that they are "picky" because I've enjoyed each time we've gone on it.

Some people just seem to set themselves up for disappointment.

As to how long the ride lasts, my guess would be about 15-20 minutes. It depends how often the driver slows down to let people see the animals.

If your on the edge of trying it or not, I'd say try it at least once but to get the most out of it, get there when the park opens and make it the first ride of the day. You will probably walk right on to it.

Oh, and if you want a bumpy ride, sit in the back, otherwise, sit nearer the driver for a less bumpy ride. Don't sit right behind the driver because they block some of the view.

We really enjoyed our Safari ride....we went about 11:00 and all the animals were out, except the lion and lioness, we could still see them, but they were asleep under a tree. We saw a baby hippo and the giraffes were quite close. I didn't get the impression that the animals were contained, seemed quite real to me! I think they are just being picky.

I have to say that the "contained" comment got me. The only place where you can easily see how the animals are contained is the Lion area and even there it is not intrusive. There are no fences or cages and the animals have LOTS of room to roam. I find it just an amazing experience.

I guess the fake part would be that you are not really in Africa, but they do a good job making it look realistic.

The safari is one of my favorite attractions, one of the best themed in all of WDW, IMHO. *Definitely* check it out, it is really a wonderful ride.

Wow, I agree with other posters. I really like it and never noticed the barriers. I think it lasts 20 minutes and it wouldn't hurt to spend that amount of time to find out if you like it.

We just got back this weekend and the animals are definately not trapped in!!! The giraffes were out in the middle of the road and we had to wait several minutes for them to move out of our way and one hippo was so close my husband could almost touch it!!! Definately try it! We went first thing and had no wait at all!! Enjoy!

i guess i'll just have to do it myself and tell my friends that they lied :p

According to The Passporter, it's a 19 minute ride.

If you have the time, I say, do it twice. At least an hour apart. What you see really does change throughout the day Each time through ends up being totally different.
