Kilimanjaro Club Concierge

This thread gave me a nightmare last night!

I had a dream that we were checking in to AKV and got a one bedroom concierge on the 6th floor. When we got to the room, it was beautiful. But we looked out over the balcony and it was like looking down from a skyscraper, the ground was SO far away. We could see the tops of palm trees WAAAAAYYYYY down there, but no animvals at all!

We've stayed concierge level at AKL several times and have always been on the 6th floor with a savannah view. This view, IMO, is the worst due to the roof blocking the balcony and the lack of animals in general. One day we saw NO animals until the afternoon when there was a lone giraffe and some strange birds. I'm sure they had alot of guest service issues with those that faced the pool since most people wanted savannah view. I'm wondering where the regular guests with concierge will stay since DVC is converting all the units in that area?
I've heard they do open up the sunrise/sunset safari to regular guests if there aren't enough concierge guests at AKL and the other concierge resort guests to fill the tour so perhaps that will be available, and besides, perhaps there will be something else offered once Kidani Village is opened.
It seems as though with so few rooms available and then once folks get there, the less-than-stellar views available will be more of a guest service hassle and guest dissatisfier than worth it to even offer concierge to us. ---Kathy

I had seen a good picture of the sunset savannah from the overlook (off the lobby). I couldn't find it but did find this pic that did appear to from a room in a similar area. The savannah is very narrow at this point being squeezed in by the hotel on both sides as well as the 'people pens'. Not horrible but not the greatest view. The 6th floor rooms would have a roof that would overhang as well.
