Kids stole the keys from the dog at POTC

I did get a pic of a family tailgaiting and BBQing in the MK parkimg lot, complete with tent, a few minutes ago. I can post that picture if no one believes that.

I'm sorry, but I think that's REALLY funny! Better n a football game! :beach:

This is shocking to here. The attraction is open as far as I know but not sure about the keys.

If you don't believe the poster, don't post.

Thanks for moderating the thread. :thumbsup2

Why is it so hard to believe that people find this fishy? There are only a couple of place that you could easily get in and out without getting in the water and with how quickly they seem to respond to flash photography, it soes seem to be out of character for Disney.

That is really sad. It always amazes me when people feel that they can do whatever they want no matter how wrong it is. I hope they catch them and something gets done about this. It only take 1 person or 1 group to ruin something for 1,000s of people for years to come. I'm sure lap bars will be on their way........

I don't see why the OP would make something like this up but maybe I'm just naive. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Why would anyone be surprised by this in this age of entitlement and Disney's not as good maintenance? I can see it happening.

I don't get the need to make this a broad social commentary. Young people are rowdy. They were 50 years ago, they were 100 years ago, they will be 50 years from now. It's not the end of the world. I wouldn't let this story ruin my day.

I don't know why the OP would make a story like this up, especially when it can be confirmed by CMs (sounds like one has confirmed already) that were working last night.

I'm sure the security guards that rushed over called in a description to the CMs at the exit gates and/or got security at the gates to look for the guys that could have done this. If they weren't able to apprehend them, then I'm sure Disney has back up parts and props for all the attractions and visitors today would be unaware of what happened last night.

I doubt the keys will end up on EBay. Guys like that would rather have a trophy than the cash.

Sarcasm. My phone couldnt have captured a useable image in the dark, that far away.

Yes, there was a cm at the end of the ride and we yelled at her to stop them from leaving. She didnt know what we were saying until they were at the top of the ramp, and they took off. She immediately called security.

I'm done with this thread. I came here to relay what we saw last night and some people think this is a made up story...and for what? It makes no sense to me why these people got away with what they did...same as the people wiggling out of the seatbelts at Soarin recently and no alarms went off.

Choose to believe me if you want.

I believe you. I never knew that people getting out of rides at Disney was such a big problem. That makes me nervous, especially after looking at the ToT video someone posted. That is a safety risk to everyone on the ride.

I hope they DID get caught.
I hope a police report was filed/charged for vandalism.
Perhaps the only way some people learn is by being embarrassed/out of pocket and have a record.......
Seriously, lets hope these "bright stars" brag on facebook or tweet and THEN get caught....:thumbsup2 just PATHETIC.

What does bother me is the LACK of security that I THOUGHT was in place...thankfully no one was hurt/medical situation existed because the response time seems lacking ....:confused3

Dr.Girlfriend;44926941 I just do not understand the "thrill" or "fun" in getting out of a ride and destroying thongs.[/QUOTE said:
What is so wrong with thongs and why would they destroy them?! Fashion choices should be left to individual preference...:rotfl2:

Sorry DG...I picked up on this and it made me chuckle, I am not trivializing the seriousness of vandalism. BTW, GO TEAM VENTURE!

This reminds me of a few years ago when we were on POTC. A group in two boats ahead of us threw a bottle of water at the dogs head and knocked the "fur" on the dog's head right off. It was the creepiest thing, seeing this robot "brains" of the dog with it's blinking eyes. CMs were notified by people getting off the boats, but as far as we know they got away.

Clearly there is only one solution - electrified dog collars for all riders. Just try and get off that boat - ZZZZTTTT - fried moron.:thumbsup2

Seriously, there must have been SOME camera on that ride that caught these brain surgeons in the act. Problem is, no one was watching.

I always thought the boat went down in the middle of the channel, not close enough to get out of the boat without getting wet - now I'll have to plan a return trip to see for myself!

Something like the collars in the old Star Trek episode, "The Gamesters of Triskelion" would be perfect.

I can't comment on the ToT video but CoP .... we were in CoP in 2010 and it took forever to get through the show because they had to keep stopping because of people trying to leave midway through the scenes. When people are asked to remain in their seats, use seatbelts/lapbars (where applicable) and keep their hands, arms, feet and legs inside (yeah I know you hear it over and over) it's not Disney trying to ruin everyone's fun. There are reasons for these announcements and warnings. I am sure that some folk don't actually realize that CoP actually revolves :rolleyes2

I can neither confirm nor deny the veracity of the op's claim. I can, however, verify that as of 8:30 this evening there were keys back in the dog's mouth.
