Kids stole the keys from the dog at POTC

I really bet someone is going to lose their job over this, or be demoted at least. I think someone plain and simply was not watching when they should have been.

The same thought crossed my mind; I don't know what the repercussions are for this kind of oversight, but I bet some CM will get in trouble for not catching this in the act.

I know it's not the proper reaction, especially since my aim is horrible :lmao: and I'd hate to destroy my own property trying to stop idiot thugs, but I'd probably be tempted to hurl one of my heavier camera lenses at them. A serious lens to the side of the head might make them think twice about doing something so foul.

They'd never feel it. And what did your poor lens do to you to deserve such harsh treatment?:dance3:

I am infuriated!!! I can't write on here what I really want to, but I am sure we are all feeling the same. It is just so disrespectful - they have clearly lost any magic they ever had for Disney World. Karma may come around. I totally agree with LockShockBarrel - what if there was a medical emergency or some other problem?? :confused3

Makes me so angry!!! Some people are just so freakin' pathetic it disgusts me! And I'm sure if they could read any of this they'd be laughing about it. That's what makes it worse. People like that are too warped or at the very least, too immature to grasp that they've done anything seriously wrong- on any level.

I really hope they catch them and go after them legally, b/c thousands in fine and potential jail time may be the only way people like this can start to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them and that there are serious repurcussions for pulling stunts like this.

:thumbsup2

That's how someone was killed on Splash Mountain. They got out of the boat and then fell between 2 boats and were crushed.

Did they take descriptions? I would think that's the least they could have done- and you spent the e tire ride watching these idiots, I'm sure Yoi could have provided adequate enough descriptions.

Of course if they were smart they would split up. Hard to stop one guy among thousands if tourists that may fit a general description whereas a group matching the descriptions would be easier to justify stopping and questioning.

Completely unacceptable. I hope that if there was some poor management of the ride going on here that whoever did that will be reprimanded the point that it never happens again.

I don't think it's matter of entitlement as much as it is a group of "youths" with no respect for anything. Lets see who can be the biggest jerk!! I've actually seen this happen before on the log ride at my six flags park. It's always a bunch of punks. The sad thing is they don't even realize the history and adoration of Walt Disney or they wouldn't think of doing that. The millions of people that pass through and love the place and then five dummies have to mess it up!! :sad2:

I would have taken pictures of them while they were doing it. That might have actually deterred them if they weren't aware of the ride cameras.

^^ It's the one time that I wouldn't have been annoyed at Flash Photography on the ride ;)

Hmm...grumblegrumblegrumble... I really have a major problem with this. There's so many what if's at play here. Even what these idiots did aside, would someone have responded if you had been screaming that you were hurt? That someone was having a heart attack or seizure?

Probably not. Years ago my son and I were on the incline moving sidewalk going up to the Tomorrow Land Transit when a guest about 10 people in front of us got their shoelace sucked under the edge where the sidewalk recirculates. This caused everyone to start falling and piling up on top of each other. People were screaming and no CM's even noticed. I was able to pull my son up and have him reach over the handrails and hit the red emergency shut off button. The sidewalk stopped moving and CM's came running. They weren't concerned about people who were getting smooshed, only with who hit the stop button! They said it would take 15 min to reset the ride (big deal!), it only took 10 seconds! No one was hurt but a lot of people were scared and upset. Had I thought about it I would have complained to guest services.

Anyway, I don't really think anyone monitors things like they should!! It's a shame people will try to ruin things for others! Like the WTP queue. Kids ruined Rabbit's garden and broke a gopher requiring that a fence be put up in front of them within the first week of it opening!!!

I teach college mathematics and "deal" with 18-19 year olds all the time. I don't think it is so much of entitlement as it is of being raised without having any boundaries or limitations put on them as kids. I can always pick those kids out in about a day.

They just don't know how to behave and it is so sad.........

IF you are reading this, and you are the vandal responsible for the destruction of Disney property, listen up:

I hope you get caught and someone beats the living _ _ ck right outa you,

you miserable excuse for a human being.

Several years ago my uncle chaperoned a group of teenage boys at Disneyland. They started climbing out of the POTC boats and the CM's saw them on the security cam and immediately told them to get back in the boat or the ride would be shut down. I would assume similar security is in place at the POTC in WDW. Probably even more sophisticated than it was when my uncle chaperoned. Either the sensors failed (as the CM reported) or someone in security was asleep at the switch.

I would have taken pictures of them while they were doing it. That might have actually deterred them if they weren't aware of the ride cameras.

I would have been yelling and snapping pictures in hopes that a CM would have seen and heard me. They really must have not been paying attention to what was going on because I was in a boat about three back from someone snapping flash pictures and they came over the intercom and got on to them. I bet someone will be fired or moved to another job because of this.

Stupid jerks! It just makes me sick to think that someone would do something so stupid and mean.

ugh how completely irritating.

I saw a whole sad generation of kids like that on my last theme park visit, climbing over the queue rails into the gardens to steal the flowers, standing up on rides and knocking into guests where the stupid parents just stood by and watched. They're the sort of uncontrolled kids who go on to be a royal PITA with acts like this during their college years.

On that note, it reminds me of Modern Family this week, with a three year old Lily running round uncontrollably because Cam was trying a "new thing" where he "didn't like to tell her no" :rotfl:
