Kids/No Kids Restaurants

It would be interesting to find out what is considered a local...a 40 minute drive is considered a local.

Out here as your probably noticed everything is 40 minutes away :rotfl:

I think that we should be able to post on these boards with a certain anonimity. No one disputes that there certainly is enough information provided on the board about our families and places of residence that someone could use that info for ways that are not intended.

If you ask me if WDW ever seperated some of their restaurants into a section for familes & a secction for non familes & I would assume it would at some restaurants in WDW Resorts, wouldn't these same people want the same for restaurants in WDW Theme Parks? I mean if you go to any restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney MGM Studios or Animal Kingdom there will be children there & chances are some might be screaming, crying & etc. So would these same people who want seperate seating at some restaurants, wouldn't it be just a matter of time before they want it at every restaurant in WDW?

I think the average person expects to find children in the theme park and casual dining restaurants, and while disruptive behaviour is no more acceptable there, it is more expected.

In the signature restaurants people generally expect a more elegant or refined experience, and are far less tolerant of outbursts.

We have adult only areas in alot of our family restaurants here in Canada. They are called the lounge and offer the same menu as the full service restaurant.
We have some local restaurants also that have lounges BUT most people just hang out in the lounge for a few drinks while waiting for their table for dinner. There are some that do eat and drink at the lounge bar.

I see what you are trying to say because signature restaurants are way different from casual restaurants. The only thing that kind of bugs me is if these people got WDW to change some signiture restaurants to have familes on one section & non familes on another one, they would be so use it so they would bug them to change every restaurant in WDW.

All of the Signature restaurants have children's menus. If they have the menu for kids, kids are welcome. (not my rule but Walt's)

Actually that's not the case. V&A's and Bistro de Paris do not have children's menu's.

Technically they do, and always have, own the building. I was giving that as an addendum, not saying that it was a Disney operated facility. And while the facilities might not be cavernous like OCCC, the convention facilities at the other resorts I mentioned do regularly host conventions during the year.

I guess you don'ttenjoy my sense of humour either then, so we're even. I'll see you next month, I believe your wife will be the redhead...we'll be sure to stop by and say hello. eh.

Anne
Anne, does it bother you that I have corrected some of your errors (ie. Club 33) and now another:

Tishman Realty & Construction Corporation and MetLife own the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide manages the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
Yes Denimore is my lovely wife of soon to be 30 years. I do not understand why you are so upset with me as I have never caused you harm but you seem bent on causing us. I trust we will find the people of Orlando to be the same friendly types we have met on previous trips - were you out of town?

Thank you for the head's up. I didnt know.
But you can bring your kid's by my table anytime. We will be there Oct. 21- Oct 28. Cinderella's RT at 1:00 Oct 22, 2006. LOL
I love to be around children and never wish them away!

Yes, that's true. AND I would not bring a child/baby in these restaurants for this reason. No kids menu is a BIG HINT to us NOT TO BRING KIDS... I can respect that... and others with kids should... Afterall, there are plenty of Signature dining experiences that do have a KIDDIE MENU...

OK See you when you get home. Hope the kids aren't at a signature restaurant while at Stampede. :rotfl:

Are there any restaurants within the gates of the theme parks that have no children's menu?

Bistro de Paris

Well, I'm not afraid to say it...I dropped over $500.00 on dinner for my fiance and me at V&A's last week and I would have been really upset if there were kids disrupting that meal.

I love children (my DD is now 19), but I'm done with all of that and I want just a little peace and romance when I make ressies at a signature restaurant.

It's really not to much to ask to not subject everyone else to your child's disruptiveness. If you don't mind it fine...then don't mind it in your own room.

Has anyone actually been disturbed by a temper tantrum during a "signature" dining experience? Or is all this mostly hype?

That has never happened to my family at a WDW "signature" restaurant or any restaurant in WDW, but a few years ago we were eating TGI Fridays on 192 & there was this kid who must have been 1 or 2 years old that did not stop crying the whole time we were there. The parents didn't even take him outside to calm him down. Anyway eventually they over heard me saying to my Dad, can't this kid shut up? Well his Mother accidently heard me say that, then some not so nice words were directed at my family & the same were directed back at them.

They're funny things, Accidents. You never have them till you're having them.

I just think that kid's are getting a bad wrap here. Most of the time kids are fine. I would think that most signature dining experiences have NOT been ruined by someone else's unruly children. It would be very difficult to convince me differently, like I have said I am a professional eat outer.
This is mostly HYPE!
