Kids nite out?? Babysitting

Has anyone done this? How did you like it?? We are going in November and DH and I would really like to be able to have some nice dinners by ourselves or possibly go to downtown disney. We have never used the babysitting services before are there age limits? My oldest is 13 he is very responsible but I would never leave him at the hotel with the other two! My youngest is 2.

We did it..couldn't be happier.

I forgot toys for my son--couldn't believe that. But I just didn't plan for the sitter. But she brought toys from him. We knew he would cry at 10:00 on the nose. He had gotten to the point where he will let people put him to sleep, but my curfew was 10pm and then he wanting nursing!

I told her that if she had difficulty consoling him that I didn't have a problem being called.

She didn't call. I did go back when I felt I was ready and she had just gotten him back to sleep. (I didn't expect to be called if she could get him to sleep--so my instructions were followed.)

He had no issues staying with her either when we left. My son was 15 months at the time.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if I felt inclined to have a date with hubby. (that visit was a special 10th anniversary trip and we had our kids at other places for the weekend. DS came b/c he still needed his mommy at night.)

Oh good is there a time limit? How much is it? I would imagine you need to make reservations in advancebut how far would in advance would I need to do that? Thanks soooo much for the info.

It's either a 2 or 4 hour minimum...not sure what the maximum is.

I think we left a debit card when booking (not sure b/c hubby did it)--but the charge didn't appear until after they babysat. I believe there is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

Our reservation was on June 13th or 14th and my husband made the reservation within 24-48 hours. (weekend was a surprise and in my taunting to figure things out--I narrowed it down to two places and he asked why those two places. I said they were the only places that had babysitting. And he was like--oh yeah, I forgot about that. And booked it.)

Just checked out the kids niteout site and it says the age maximum is 12. My oldest is 13 I trust him but I would never leave him in a resort room alone without an adult! I don't know how he would react if something were to happen and I wouldn't want to put him in that position. The sunshine babysitters site says early teens has anyone else used the service and did you like it?

We did it and had a wonderful experience. A teenage girl came over to our hotel with a couple of bags full of goodies: games, puzzles, coloring books, etc... our kids were fine, and DH and I were able to have one night alone. We just went out for maybe 3 hours. I would do it again, and recommend it to others.

we used Kids Nite Out several years ago and I have no complaints. We live in Orlando now so now we don't really need them. My DH's company contracts Super Sitters (http://www.super-sitters.com/) when they have company events so employees can attend without worrying about a sitter.

I might talk to them about the 13 year old. Tell them your concerns. As long as you are paying for him why should they really care if it is a little older. I'm sure they don't want teen "I don't need a sitter" attitude but if you can account for that they might be ok with it.

He is definately not like that! I don't think he would want to be left alone even if we gave him the option!
