We go next September and we have been looking at the restaurants and the amount of food you get and I don't think my girlfriend could manage it because at home she would usually get a kids meal would she be able to get a kids meal in the parks

From the quick service places she is fine to order a kids meal. Kids meal options are limited though eg the kids nuggets aren't a patch on the adult chicken strips.

You can also get the combo meals as just the burger no fries.

Yes she will be able to however at CS restaurants I really wouldn't recommend it as they food is awful. More often than not my 6 year old DD has an adult meal or entree. The only kids meals she has are mac'n'cheese and the turkey sandwich.

At CS she would be better off getting an adult meal but just asking for it without the side - I will get just the chicken nuggets or fish etc but no fries - it's not on the menu board but they do offer it and it's usually $2 less than the meal price!

I agree with Elise. Many of the kid's meals are pretty horrible. Not all, look out for the healthier options and my DD just loves the kids pizza. You might be better sharing an adult CS meal, they are frequently huge. At TS places she could choose and appetiser instead of an entree, but that won't work if you are on the dining plan.

yes you can order kids meals for adults
It's good to know that she'll be able to get kids meal, but also don't underestimate the huge amount of calories you'll both burn in Florida.

the amount of food someone can eat can be different at home, and in Florida after over 10 miles of walking every day.

My point is that it's often better to leave a bite or two because you're stuffed, than ordering something smaller and going hungry all day long.

To echo what a few PPs said, it will probably be best to order an adult CS without the sides, than a full kids meal.

Now you didn't talk about YOU.
The excess food on your girlfriend's plate might be what lacks on your own plate.

Then finally, if you get an adult CS inside the parks, some come with a bag of chips. If you don't eat it during the meal, it can come in handy (for you or your GF) during the day as a quick snack

You'll be amazed at how much and how often guests can eat while in WDW :)

whatever you choose to do : listen to your tummy :)

Thank you and like someone said with the amount of walking she might might eat a normal meal and that's true I didn't say anything about me because I will eat anything and will probably end up finishing anything my girlfriend doesn't

I have a big appetite for someone my size, but even I struggle with a lot of the portion sizes. The heat affects me too and really suppresses my appetite. I end up just eating for the sake of it!

That said, the kids meals really are no good for adults. I would say split a starter and a main course at TS locations because there will probably be enough for both of you :thumbsup2

I'm the opposite.
I'm rather big (265lbs) and short (5'4") and have a healthy appetite I try to keep at bay at home (I used to weigh 350lbs ...

but when I'm in Florida I just let it gooooooooo, let it gooooooooooo (oopsie :) )

I've never struggled to finish a TS meal (TBH I had the cuban tour at Bongo's and this one gave me a hard time, but I won in the end :) )

Seems like the Florida climate makes me hungrier than usual (we go in october, so that's not unbearably hot)

But I also have to admit that a CS meal (with sides) is usually enough. I could eat dessert (on the DDP) we prefer to keep it for later, so I often leave the counter service slightly hungry (perfect excuse for a Dole Whip a couple of hours later :) )

ETA : need I say I came back from our 3 weeks in Florida with nearly 30 pounds of "excess bagage" ? ... if you see what I mean :)
