Kids meals/ages at sit down restaurants?

I believe what poster is saying is, that the 10 year old should say they are not 10 but instead 9? Not for purposes of avoiding paying the difference of a child vs. 10+ dining plan, but so they can eat off the child's menu.

I agree that's what they meant, but that's going to be unnecessary most of the time, anyway. This thread is causing worries that people really shouldn't have.

Now, a buffet/prix fixe meal would be another story. Even the smallest 10yo ever is paying the adult price there.

Say you're a very small, 9-year-old-looking 10yo? I just can't imagine my oldest a) wanting anything off of the adult menu, b) eating all that food.

You could be a large, 28 year old NFL offensive linesman and still order off the kids menu. No reason to make up excuses.

Ah, well, personally, I wouldn't ever lie about my kid's age. I don't think it sets a good example. But to me, this is one of those "you do you" situations.

Agreed. Also, as someone who was tiny for my age, it was so unbelievably embarrassing to me that my Dad would constantly lie about my age to get cheaper pricing. I promised I would never do it to my own kid. Plus, my kid is the opposite...huge for his age. We have people who don't believe is when we give his real age.

Lol, I've ironically got one of those too. Oldest is small for her age, twin1 is normal for her age, twin2 is huge for her age. My oldest and youngest are 3.5 years apart and they almost wear the same size clothes... whatever goes out of DD1's closet heads straight over into DD2's.
