Kids i.d bands.....

we are taking two 7 year olds and a three year old and i am STRESSING OUT about losing them.

i got i.d bands last year free from my travel agent but where can i buy them?

If you google wristbands children you will get a few ideas for printed ones. Otherwise, have a look on Ebay - I bought 100 plain fluorescent yellow ones for a few pounds. They are the Tyvek sort (a kind of plastic paper stuff) and I just write on them.

I have also stuck a sticker on this inside of DD's pocket. SHe is old enough to know why it is there, to keep it safe and show it if she gets lost.

those are very cool,my 7 year old would wear no problem.

How long did they take to arrive?

It was less than a week from order to delivery. They seem fairly robust and should last for a number of trips.

I have printed ID cards out from www.themouseforless.com they are credit card sized and I have put one in a lanyard id holder for my DD5. You can personalise them with child's name, hotel name, age height phone number etc and there is a space to insert a photograph of the child. If you don't want to use a lanyard they can be put on a pin and fastened to clothing etc, best of all they are free!

years ago i travelled with my two kids alone (DH had to stay here that summer)....it was only a year after a major illness of mine, so i was very very very nervous that something would happen. My kids were 10 and 8 at the time..

i had them each wear a very small belly pack - in each pack i had a list of contact names and numbers - how to call their dad overseas from any phone; the name and number of the travel health insurance company (in case i had another attack, which was still a major worry for me at the time); all the contact names and phone numbers of relatives in the US, etc.

I went through the list with both of them before we left so they both knew exactly what to do in case of emergency.

Fortunately, they never had to use any of the information, but it was the only way i would travel with them by myself at the time.
