I feel jipped by this promotion. And the rest of the promotions are...ehhh...at best. They need a "People traveling with NO children" promotion...that would be sweet..... Anyone else with me?

I wish there was a smiliey rasing his hand. It's just me and DH and we don't stay on property to save money. It would be nice to get a promotion for just the two of us..just a little one.

It would be nice to have a singles/couples promo happen.

maybe a "Thank You for not over-running our parks with Strollers" Promotion lol. and EMH at night for just those over 18...ahh dreams...

Or a "Thank you for believing you don't have to be a kid to enjoy the magic" promo?

Absolutely! I love going to Disney and never could when I was little. If I hear one more person whine that if free dining or some promotion like it isn't going to be offered they're not going, I'm going to say, "Good. More room this fall for me and Kenny. We'll say hi to Mickey for ya!" :rotfl:

I love the idea of a singles/couples promo. There are so many of us who go without kids. What about those like me and Kenny who may never be able to have any kids?

This is the only offer I have seen (this year) that is available for people with children, there are plenty of great promos for everyone. That is why we went 4 times last year.

BTW, DH and I have no children and we NEVER pay Rack/Full price.

;) Wow, I thought I was the only one who was annoyed at this! We go in Sept., and take a chance on the hurricaines just so we don't have to get our shins cracked by all the strollers. If they offer FD, we're still going to go, but I'll be hip-checking more often!

Did I say that in my outside voice?

Hey, I know that FD is the best way for cash-strapped families to bring everyone to Disney, but it would be really nice to get a great discount or an extra upgrade just for being me! Being child-free or empty-nesters doesn't mean you're overburdened with money.

Fortunately for Disney, kids can't travel by themselves...the adult(s) taking them will be paying the same amount childless adults are. Does that make you feel any better? The parents are often paying more than the childless adults without this promo. It's just a Disney ploy to get parents who are on the fence about going by giving them, maybe, a 20% discount (depending on resort, etc.).

Don't get me wrong..I understand how much it must cost those with children to take their families to WDW and I am so happy my parents took me as a child (although it was always for just one day ...maybe just an afternoon and most of the time we scored free tickets from somewhere) But there are those of us who would like to take four people we love to Disney for the price of 2. Ya know? I have so many friends who would go but it's just not in the financial cards. And I know there are many adult oriented places at WDW but I would like to see how the parks would be without children for just a little while in the wee-hours of the morning ( you would think most parents would take their small children to bed after 1am but you would be surprised) I think it would be fun for us adults. It's just a thought.....

I like the EMH at night idea. I don't need one often, not even once a week. But maybe every two or three months they could have a special night just for adults? Or maybe just during Value Season? Maybe? Maybe?

Thank goodness! I was feeling like a bitter woman yesterday and not wanting to tell my friends in my whiney voice 'it's not FAAAAIR, how come the breeders get discounts?'. Then I saw this thread, at least I know others feel the same way

I do not have small children and I do not feel jipped at all, I have a decent % off my resort room and true that is a promo anyone can use even those with kids but it affords me the luxury of staying at a deluxe resort instead of a value.

Disney is in the business of business. You'd go even without those two people, right? So, why would Disney let you take them for free? Parents may or may not go without their kids, so in order to get those dollar$, Disney says, hey...we'll let you take your kids for free if you spend your money to get in (and money on your kids souvenirs, candy, $12 balloons, etc., etc.).

At least you don't have to get two rooms per trip. Sadly, we've outgrown one hotel room. :upsidedow

Why not contact Disney with your conserns instead of posting them here? You aren't accomplishing anything complaining here, if you aren't willing to step forth and write to Disney about it, there is nothgin they can/will do!

And again, I don't see the issue, they have some great discounts for those of us who don't have children and I guess I don't even really notice other people's children, because I am concentrating on having a great time with my hubby  at our favorite vacation destination.

I agree, it might make sense to ask for a promotion/marketing event for childfree folks, but I don't think we're complaining as much as thinking out loud that this might be an opportunity for Disney to attract business from a market that we don't typically associate with Disney....the empty nesters, or people who are childfree. Who in their right mind expects to go to Disney and see absolutely NO children? Nobody, that's who. And witnessing the occasional toddler meltdown is all part of the Disney experience (that, and being ever-so-grateful that our kids are now adults). ;) However, it sure would be nice to see a couple's or single's promotion. So I'll make sure that Disney hears from me. Thanks for the suggestion.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Definately not complaining. I love Disney World, Child-Free promotions or none. DH and I are fortunate enough to be able to plan our trips for the fall so we don't see too many kids. I'm sure there have been some meltdowns when we were there, but I honestly can't remember them. We really enjoy ourselves when we go and don't let too much get in the way of that :goodvibes
