Hey everyone :)

Anyone done, or thought of doing the Kid's Nite Out events for children during the wedding? What kinds of prices were you quoted?

We had the Kids nite out. I was thrilled & to me totally worth the price. The only thing is you need a min of 11 kids for it to really be worth it. They were in a ballroom almost across the hall from the reception & parents were able to go over any time they wanted. We paid I think somewhere in the neighbor hood of $700 total. It will be slightly cheaper if you have kids older than 3.

Thanks for your reply! May I ask how many children you had at the kids' party?

We had 11 of which 4 were under 3 year mark so we had to pay and extra dollar per kid per hour. Honestly it wasn't that bad. We had the party from cocktail hour til the end of the reception. I think they have a min of 4 hours-3 active hours and 1 hour for setup.

I could have kicked myself because I made each of the kids a game bag not knowing-or asking- what the kids were going to be doing. The kids had a great time-there were coloring books, Wii, balls to throw around. They made a fort. All the kids we had there had so much more fun than in the reception. Plus the parents had fun too.

We are having one. our reception is at Italy plaza and the children will be in the AAR Parlor.

This is the info i received:

Children’s Parties:
A private room in a convention center will be set up for all children attending your wedding reception. You may choose to provide a fantastic kids buffet featuring Mickey Macaroni and Cheese, pizza, chicken fingers, french fries and many other children's favorites. Food and beverage should be purchased through your Resort. Supervised games, videos and activities will also be arranged.
• Four hour minimum (includes one hour prep time)
• 11 or more children $9.50 per hour per child (ages 3 (or potty-trained) to teen)
$11.50 per hour per child (6 weeks to age 3)
A $2.50 per child, per hour surcharge applies to groups of 7 to 11 children.
• Tax is inclusive in the rate, 10% gratuity will be included in your final bill.

I asked about the 2.50 surcharge for under 11 kids. The kids nite out people & the FTW people knew nothing about it. I wish they had it.

The food cost is extra though, right?

Yeah it was about $20 per kid. Kids under 3 were free. We also did our drinks BOC. I would have to look at my paper work again.

Your reception is in Italy and the kids are in America? Is there some way to communicate between the 2 parties? I'd just be nervous, what if the kids got a little antsy, or scared? I like the idea of a seperate kids party, but i would want them closer. Like a ballroom across the hall.

Does the Kids Nite Out only take place during the reception, or would the kids be able to be in the room during the ceremony too?

We didn't do it during the ceremony, but it seemed like you could book them for however long you wanted the kid party to be. However I have a feeling they would have to be checked in at the convention center and stay there while you were getting married at I would guess the pavilion. I don't believe there is a place for the kids over there.

The guests can go over at any time. It makes it difficult to have them closer because in italy there is really no other place.

One of our groomsmen and his wife used KNO for their 7 year old son. We did not do a party because he was the only child brought to Disney for our wedding. They watched him in his room (POFQ) and even brought him to Downtown Disney and the McDonalds there. Both the parents and the child loved it - they got to enjoy our wedding and he got to have some fun.

I don't know if the parents would mind if the location was not right there - depending on the age of the children - I don't know if it is any different then sending your kids to school, camp or a classmates birthday party. America and Italy are very close to each other. They might have something for the parents. When we were on the Disney crusise a few years ago my DH's son (11 at the time) went to the kids club on board. I know they had pager type things for the younger children to call the parents if there was a problem.

I agree with Linda that america and Italy are pretty close so no worries there.

If KNO is anything like the clubhouses at Disney, the kids will have a blast. My kids, ages 3, 6, 8 & 10 loved the clubhouse when we toured DVC. They still ask to go back everytime we go to Disney.

Has anyone used KNO if they had a reception at the Attic??? I want my kids to be there and other family member's kids but I am worried about the ceremony and reception boring them.
