Ok, if you guys were going to do an applique bunny face, what colors would you use? I have white minky fabric that I would like to use for the face itself. Should I outline in white? Or pink?

I think I would use pink. I like to see contrasting colors on appliques. Plus, the white and pink would be very "springy"!

Just so you don't think I'm totally slacking off, here's what I've done with my new machine so far! It's an applique on Tessa's Cinderella dress:

1-19-08039Medium.jpg

I haven't had much time to sew with Sawyer getting into EVERYTHING, but I did this yesterday during his nap. I LOVE my new machine!! It's so much easier to applique on it, plus it beeps! ;)

Wow! it looks fantasic! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. My sewing machine beeps too, but only to tell me that i am doing something wrong! Blake doesn't like it when i sew, he will sit under my feet and cry at me to pick him up.

Hi Everyone!
I finished the appliqued top that I started today. I wanted to add a ruffle to the bottom, but I found it would have been too long. I have to hand it to LisaZoe, I don't know how she does the faces so beautifully.
Anyway, here are 4 shameless photos.

I love this outfit, cinderella looks perfect. I also love the blue star fabric, it seems to me a perfect choice for a cinderella outfit!

This top gave me FITS!!!!!!!!!:headache: I kept messing up, and the purple fabric was horrid!!!!!!!! I still have to make the skirt to go with it, and I was planning to make a twirl skirt with some panels of the toile. I am not looking forward to working with the fabric for the skirt. I was going to make both dds this to wear when we eat at 1900 park fare, but IDK, can't decide. I might put some bling on the bodice, haven't decided yet. I am just glad the top is finally finished! :lmao:

TOM- I love both of the easter outfits, they are both beautiful!

Would you believe that the stores over her already have easter eggs for sale, they went up on the shelves a day after new years day.

TERESAJOY- I love your giselle outfit. Tahlia and i went and saw Enchanted on the weekend, while the boys saw the goldern compass. I've notice you mention your daughters red hair, is she the only one in your family to have red hair? My son Jayden is the only person to have red hair in our family on both my side and dh side. The last person was my great-grandmother who i never met. Jay hates his hair ( thanks to the kids at school :sad2: ) and doesn't understand why his sisters and brother are all blonde/light brown. You woukd not believe how many times i have been asked by interferring old ladies if jayden has a different father to the other kids.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about Mayme's Cinderella dress. The thought to put the words on the back hit me and I searched until 3:00 for a font that looked princess-y and was still readable. Sometimes my best ideas come in the middle of the night! Also, the strip that is blue w/white dots and a block of white...that was a total mess up. I had cut all of the other strips 13", but when I got to that fabric, I cut it 10" for some strange reason.:confused3 Now that was not done in the middle of the night, so I have no excuse! Anyway, I figured out a way to still use it and I ended up loving it.

And, by all means, CASE away on the writing. I know I'm looking as we speak to see what I can CASE! I love that everyone here is willing to share what they make!! Thanks for letting me join in the fun! :)

Here is my shamless post. Avery had cheerleading competition this morning at the University of Maryland and her team came in 1st place in their division. :cheer2:
Avery is the one sitting in her coach's lap and in the black jacket in the 2nd pic.

Congrats to your DD!! I'm so behind in the posts here, but I just had to comment from a fellow Cheer Mom!! My oldest (who is 6) is getting ready for her first competition for the year in just a few weeks, and I'm always excited to see other little cheerleaders!!! :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to show you all the cinderella pillowcase dress that i made for tahlia. I CASEd it off 2CUTEKIDS, i hope thats ok. I made mine into a dress though, because tahlia is another child who doesn't like to wear pants/jeans.

It looks a little wronky on the hanger, and her face is not creased like that.

This is so pretty! I brought some of that purple princess fabric, as well as a pink one, from :wizard: a few months ago. But since then we have moved house and i lost them both! Its probably in a box still somewhere in the garage, i hope i find it because seeing your top made me remember how much i like it.

Nope, never been to DL. I went to Beverly Hills about 10 years ago with my aunt and cousin, uncle was living/working out there and we had gone to disney world the week before so skipped DL and hit Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Hollywood instead. i was bummed, especially because we went to Universal Studios the week before too. The rest of the time we walked around Beverly Hills just enjoying the area.

Everyone else in my family went to California once.......
At least you will make sure to get to Disney Land this time!

Wow! After Lisa Zoes Tink and Tom's Easter creation I almost don't want to post the tee I did! I guess I will anyway - after all I did already upload it!! Anyway here's a Valentines tee for DS2. We start our cruise on the 14th.

th_IMG_2934.jpg

DD saw it and wants one too, so I ordered the Moda fabric and will make one to match the skirt that Lori made. Will probably make myself one too.
Leslie, that is too cute!!!

Ummm.. I don't think I outsew anyone! The fabric is a cotton weight, not heavy at all. I bought it on line. The designer had a great sale at Christmastime. http://parisbebe.com/store/

Thanks everyone for the comments. Sometimes I just don't know if my sewing looks good enough, and then all of your kind words tell me that I guess I shouldn't quit.

Thanks for the site!!! There is some gorgeous fabric on there!!!
Here it is!
th_clothingcreations011.jpg
Your daughter is SOOOOO cute!!! She looks so adorable in her outfit!

Here are two pajamas that I made in the past few days. I bought a bunch of brushed cotton and finally decided to make Ireland a nightgown. It's nothing special. She's really hard on pajamas. LOL
299380557.jpg

I at first thought that this would be an outfit, but the more I worked on it, it started looking like summer pajamas.
299380555.jpg

Today I'm starting a new applique project. I'm surfing the web for some ideas. Wish me luck!
Adorable!!! I love jammies!
I finally have the girls' Valentine's outfits finished. I ended up making 2 (and 2 of each), but I only have pics of the dress. They wore the tops last week-end & dd1 was cutting teeth & cranky about it so there aren't any pics yet.

The dresses came out pretty cute & when they're too short to wear as dresses by the end of summer, they can be worn as tops. :cool1:

2007_01310088.jpg
That looks really good!
And I forgot! We are getting more snow! Yeah!

It is freezing though, it is a wet wet snow and we were out for 2 hours already. I just hope it chillsl up and the ground freezes up so we can sled some tonight! Because it is so wet there still isn't much on the ground and been snowing for 3 hours now!
It's BEYOND freezing here, but we don't have much snow. It's hit a high here today of 9, just 9!! What kind of crazy HIGH is that?????? The low so far is -2 With a windchill of -20 BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

You wanna talk freezing?! It's colder here than in Alaska! I think it's around 15 degrees out and the temp is dropping! It's suppose to be around 10 degrees by early evening! And the wind...brrrrrr!! Baby it's cold outside!

Bundle up Leslie!!!

Has anyone seen and pink fabric with crowns on it? (I thought I saw some but of course did not buy it). I just bought DD a tee that says in pink "I 'm a princess .........most of the time" (I think it is funny she is not so thrilled LOL) and I though a pink bottom would be cute.

I have some I got quite awhile ago, it's pink with different colored sparkly crowns on it. I'd be happy to share it with you.

I came across this on one of my YahooGroups. I thought it would work for a Disney custom. Maybe a Belle?
That is REALLY cute!!! A Belle would be adorable!
We leave in 4 days and I think I might be all set. I have both a long sleeve and a short sleeve shirt to go under each outfit depending on the weather. I have finished all the outfits I wanted to and now just need to pack.
MickeyMouseAlinedress001.jpg

She actually said no to Cinderella jammies and begged for the Cars ones.

I also appliquéd Mickey heads on six sweatshirts (one for each person on the trip) and added iron-on designs to the back of each sweatshirt. I'm pooped.
Off to pack.

Your daughter is going to look so cute!!! And I love it that she picked Cars pajamas!!!

So adorable! Love those sunglasses! :cool1:

Your daughter looks so cute!!!!

I am so behind. I hae been working working and um working and oh, yeah taking care of sick people. I was sick last thursday and someone in my family has been sick every day there after. Mac couldn't keep anything in his stomach for 3 days and on the 4th day I came home to a Little w/ a temperature. :surfweb: I am WIPED OUT!!! But getting a pay check is kinda nice. I have never had to leave the kids w/ anyone else while their sick so I have been a basket case and feeling UBER-guilty. My new job has scheduling issues and noone ever gets 2 days off in a row so it is hard to get rested since you spend the day off catching up on laundry, dishes etc.. then go back to work for a few more days before you're off again. So I'm sorry for my absence. I have been looking at stuff when I can steal some time. Everything is great. I LOVE the clippies. I gotta make some of those!! Add it to the list:laughing:

...t.

UGGH Sounds like how our winter has been going! Someone has been sick CONSTANTLY!!! Brian works at a store and doesn't get two days off in a row either. It really stinks!

This looks WONDERFUL!!! You do a beautiful job, don't cut yourself down! Now, you go stand in the corner until you can come back and say something nice about yourself!!! ;)

Just checking in: I strained a muscle in my back so I can't sit very comfortably right now. Megan and I quickly scanned everything tonight: love all the new outfits! I will be back when I can sit and respond properly.

Teresa: I did notice that you said something about the Hello Kitty socks. Megan picked out all the footwear herself and is pleased that you noticed!

Have a great night my sewer friends!

OOOH! I hope your back feels better soon, that is NO fun!

I'm glad that Megan was pleased that I noticed her socks!!! :lovestruc

This is a link that I've had in my favorites that I look at from time to time. It doesn't really have anything for children, but lots of instructions for adult clothes, including a pattern for making ballet flats..
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=76112.0

I love that site!! They have even added a baby and children tutorial section now.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello again everyone, I used to be disneyworldmama but had to change my email and my account got all messed up so I had to start over :( I just wanted to let you all know that.

I love the Cinderella outfit, you guys are so talented
Thanks for letting us know!!! I'll welcome you anyway though!!

:welcome:

I had some precious dresses made by someone I found on ebay. Her customs are amazing!

We went to a car show last night to see "Mater" so I let dd wear her Cars dress that she will also wear at MGM when we go in 2 weeks. She was so heartbroken when she realized we WEREN'T going to WDW that night.

That is really cute!! I love the checkered flag!!!!
Hi Everyone!

Sorry I disappeared. Some of you know we have been going through some intense medical testing on our Daughter Emma 20 months... We still don't have a diagnosis from all of the testing - EEG, EMG, RNS, Muscle biopsy, MRI, urine organic acid and blood tests for conditions like Tay Sachs and Rett.. It has been such a stressful time that I haven't had the heart to sew.

Well... I'm back! We took Em to a craniosacral therapist yesterday in Montreal Canada who was on the phone with a Drs in Israel and Wisconsin before we even arrived. For the first time in a long time I have hope we can provide Em with relief and help and that maybe this can point our Dr's in the right direction.

Anyway, Since we have such a rotten time these past months I have booked the 4 of us on a Double Dip CC cruise in August.. You know what that means! More New outfits! Now I need to catch up on all of you! I can't wait!
Wow, I'm sorry you've beeb through so much! I'm glad it sounds like you are heading in the right direction!!!

And congrats on th cruise!!!!

I am loving all the Cinderella's! Castle yours was great along with the clippies, tsncs, love the toile work! I don't like working with fabric like the purple either. It never cooperates especially when trying to mix the two. Jt42blue, I love the cased cindy. There was also another one yesterday I think. I love seeing all the variations out of the same pillowcase.

That toile fabric's adorable! Where'd you get it?

That's how DD is too. When she was potty training she would pick out the boy pull ups. She had Bugs Bunny, Buzz lightyear and Cars. Right now she is wearing a Cars t-Shirt with sweat pants.

DS2 picks Cinderella pull-ups instead of Cars or Diego. I guess that's what happens when you have 2 older sisters. I laugh, but DH gets annoyed.

I stayed up all night to finish my version of a Cindy dress! I don't even have a model because she is asleep, but I'll post some new pics later with the pants. I've got to put buttons on this one too. I don't know what it is with me and buttons, but I can never figure them out until the outfit is done!

th_IMG_1863.jpg

Wow...I just noticed a ton of threads that need to be cut. Also, it's not crooked in "real life", just on my computer screen! ;)

That looks FANTASTIC!!!!! Have you considered not putting buttons on and putting elastic in the straps instead? Leslie (2cutekids) came up with that idea, and I think it looks really cute. Then, you don't have to disturb your image with buttons!
We had an aquaintance over last night who reminded me of you. She said she use to have a pet Betta:fish: like ours. she used to hold a mirror in front of the tank to get it to attack itself and she said she only used to remember to feed it about once a week...:rolleyes1

I don't know if anyone has this, but I got one for Mom for Xmas and she LOVES it. It fills the bobbin so much faster then the sewing machine. I got it at Xmas when JoAnnes had the 50% notion sale.
I've thought about getting one of those! I hate winding bobbins in the middle of a project! How much was it?

I had to hand embroider the face, and my hand sewing skills are about as great as my deep sea shark fishing skills....:rotfl:

WOW!!!!!!!! You are a deep sea shark fisherwoman??????? AMAZING!!!
;)

I made the Minnie Clippie and Cinderella...
299620371.jpg

299620378.jpg

The Cinderella wasn't too hard. I was afraid at first, but it turned out really cute.
A side note...I don't think I will use the glue gun for them again. :scared1: It was either burning me, or maybe it's cold in my house, because the glue dried too fast.

Those look really great!!!!!!

For those of you that have made the princess clippies (I think they are called french clips?) how well do they stay in you DD's hair? My dd has impossibly straight hair and I have not had any luck in getting clips to stay.

On the hipgirl clips website, they suggested puttin aquarium airline tubing on just the bottom prong of the clip. I haven't tried it, but they claim it works great!

My husband had red hair when he was younger. But, now it doesn't look very red, and there isn't much of it!!! So, we get people asking us all the time where she got the red hair. But, I've never had anyone outright ask if she had a different father!!! :scared1: Oh, those old ladies think they can say ANYTHING sometimes, don't they!!!! When Arminda was just born, my husband's aunt (she was in her 70's at the time)asked what we had named her. We said, "Arminda" and she said, "Well what are you going to call her?" We replied, "Arminda." To which she said rather haughtily, "Well, I guess it's YOUR decision." It was about all I could do to keep from slapping her!!! Arminda is named after my Grandpa's Mom, so the name is very special to me.

I keep trying to play up Lydia's red hair. So far, no one has said anything negative about it. We had a little boy at our daycare once that had VERY red hair. It was gorgeous! But, people often said negative things to us about it! Right there in front of him! It would make us so mad!

I didn't think about that. I was thinking about snaps, but the elastic would probably be better. Thanks for the idea. If I had thought about it, I would have attached the straps to the front and put the buttons on the back. I found some adorable jewels that would have looked precious by the words! Oh well...live and learn!

Up next...an outfit for Animal Kingdom. And just so you are all aware...I'm checking out your creations and I'm not afraid to CASE them!!! :thumbsup2 :worship: :thumbsup2
