Can anyone recommend a sewing machine to a novice? I am looking to start sewing but do not have a machine. I don't want to spend a fortune but I also don't want to buy a cheap piece of junk. Any advice? Thanks.
I think they're are a lot of good basic machines out there, and you really don't NEED all the fancy stitches. One thing I do recommend is a machine that will do a button hole. My buttonhole stitch is a lifesaver. I have an Elna. I've had it for over 5 years now, and I do love it; but I don't recommend it for someone starting out. It does embroidery and has a couple of built-in fonts, etc. Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
I can't wait to see a pic. Congratulations on the beads. I don't have boys, but I must say I am surprised at the amount of boy jewelry I've seen. I'm also surprised that I like it as much as I do. I guess I just never thought about it, but why shouldn't the boys get to join in on the fun?
