These are adorable!! Where do you get your bottlecaps at?

I am starting to think of our MNSSHP costumes. <snip> I think I will be a mouseketeer. I actually have a shirt and skirt I can use.

That sounds like a cute idea. :) DH's aunt had a 1950s-themed costume retirement party. We dressed DS (then 3.5) up like a Mouseketeer and he was the hit of the party. He was so confused though because all the old ladies kept calling him Cubby. :rotfl2: He said, "Don't they know my name is Alex? It says so right on my shirt!" :rolleyes1

you can usually find them with the scrapbooking items. I bought the same ones AC moore. There are 3 different styes with 8 bottle caps per package.

I have a question for you all who use the iron on images. I have a fabulous printer and buy high grade transfer paper, also high quality tees, but my image always never transfers right. Either it's burned and wrinkled up underneath, or some of it doesn't transfer and the image looks terrible. I've wasted tons of money on tees and transfer paper. Any tips? Do you all use a pressing cloth under your iron?

Hi~ I make sure to have a towel under my shirt. then slowly make my way around the paper. I apply as much pressure as I possibly can, left to right, up and down (on cotton/wool setting)... Let the shirt cool then slowly peel off the backing. Sometimes my paper does brown a little. Also when you are printing out your image use draft quality. The colors become richer after it is ironed :goodvibes
PS. I am the winner of the Froggy... I just need to balance the checkbook ;)

I do the same thing as Mickeyfan.. but I only use the transfer paper for dark fabrics. you DONT reverse the image so you peel off the back and apply it to the shirt.. that iron right side up. No worries about peeling off the sheet after its ironed on.

Another tip, when you peel the paper off after it cools it will have a glossy finish. If you want a matte finish peel the paper off when it's still hot. That's what I do, but it's whatever finished look you prefer. And, it may vary with transfer paper brands too.

For those who sew often:

My fabric store has a lot of cool prints, but they're in a section marked "Quilting Calicos". They seem very similar to the lightweight woven fabrics I've used to make the things I've sewn so far. Can you use quilting calicos for clothing, or is it better to stay out of that section?

Hey, a little off the topic, but has anybody here ever made custom autograph albums for their kiddos? I did it twice--once for their first trip to Disneyland and again when they went to Mickey's H'ween treat also at Disneyland. They turned out SO, SO cute and my boys got extra special attention from all of the characters. Perhaps I'll post them sometime along with the outfits I'm making. I'm thinking of making more autograph albums for our trip this Fall. Gotta get those cute custom clothes done first...

Now we are getting into something I can do, scrapbooking!!! Here is a link to the first book I made for my daughter. I have made two since this one, one for our cruise and one for our Christmas trip this past year.

Another tip for the alligator clips, I line mine with velcro for my 2 year old niece. This helps it not to slip in her hair.

I love your scrap book...some good ideas I may have to snag for my own scrapping-if I ever get around to it. I feel like the only person who buys tons of supplies, but never gets around to doing it.

Those should be fine for sewing an outfit or making an applique. As long as it is 100% cotton there shouldn't be a problem. :)

Just remember to wash it and dry it before you use it. It might shrink, and you don't want to find that out, after you made your outfit.
