Hey, who are you talking to? Who lured you in? We demand to know who's responsible for this! ;) My sister is the one who took away all of my free time when she told me about this thread back in July!

:welcome: to yah!!

durrrrrr
SORRY! Way too new to this!
My bff, jham lured me in....and I LOVE it here! (I think I found my happy place)!!!

Hi all!
I'm jham's bff...she lured me in and I am hooked! I cannot believe the AMAZING things you all create! WOW! I cannot wait to get started! Not sure where to start...I'm already behind...yikes! Leaving for Disneyland the 19th    !!!!
Thanks, girl! I owe ya!!!
:flower3:
woo hoo! WELCOME! :cheer2: The conversion is complete! Ha ha Utah Mama and Spongie, Teresajoy and Heathersue, you are not the only ones with your BFF on the disboutique thread! We have always been craft buddies and co-enablers and I recently convinced her to dust off that old sewing machine and get going! And I'm proud to say she is a longtime disfreak and former annual pass holder to Disneyworld and Disneyland (no not in the same year :rotfl: ) Glad you are here, you will love my (our) diser "imaginary" real friends!:grouphug:

HOORAY for going to WDW!!! I guess I'm gonna have to bit the bullet and get that pattern. or else you're going to have to make my lily's pants too;)
Liliana will be 3 on July 19th. She is in an akward size right now, 2 Ts are definitely too big. 24 months is better. she could wear her 18 mo clothes but shes too tall. some of her 12 mo. dresses aren now cute over her jeans:cutie:

and she has STARTED USING THE POTTY. for 3 days now she has been using the potty EVERY time!!! Hooray:banana:   She hadn't pee'd on the potty at all until the other day when she was at my Grands. and she went on the potty all day. but then at home she pee'd in her diaper. two days later she went to my moms and pee'd on the potty ALL day again. but pee'd in her diaper at home. Last night she wore the last diaper I had to bed and this morning I told her that there were no more and she would have to wear her Tinkerbell underpants and NOT pee in them. She did. we cleaned up and changed underpants and went to her OTHER grandma's (she calls her Nona) and not only did she tell us when she had to pee, once she even went and got on the potty herself. I really hope that this is it!!! Her brother still wets the bed at night (he's almost 10) and she knows he wears pull ups to bed so we have to keep that under wraps now. b/c she made a comment about " my gavin wears diapers too" so think we will have to be careful about that. But Yeah for Lily!!!

No wonder you call Lily "Little" :) She is 1 month older than my Lily! I knew they were close, but not that close. My Lily is August 16. As far as pants go, my Lily fits pretty dead-on in a 2T, so if you do make these pants, maybe don't add the seam allowance and it should fit? I could be more helpful when I get back from my trip. Right now I keep hanging out here finding new things I must make before we leave and not sewing the 50 things I have lined up waiting :lmao:  (I'm laughing and crying at the same time).

Teresa, I don't know how I managed to make an outfit and not post pictures :confused3 I went over to photobucket to grab the picture and there wasn't one and then I realized I never took a photo? She wore it to church one day and everything. That just goes to show you the chaos at my house lately.

My day job is a cake decorator;) I can tell you that you really can't use canned frosting to "decorate" a cake. You can "frost" a cake with it, but really you need something more stiff. Here is my general icing recipe that is pretty yummy and easy to decorate with:

1C shortening
1/2 C butter
2 lbs. Powdered sugar
1-2 tsp. vanilla
3-8 tbsp. milk depending on how you want the consistency

for icing the cake use a thinner consistency, for decorating use a thicker.

BTW, I think the cake came out pretty great! Who doesn't love a sweet sugary spongebob:)
Thanks for that recipe- I'll give it a try this week!! :)

Oh JoJo- the kids LOVE her. When we went to playhouse disney lunch dd grabbed jojo she loved her!!! That is looking really good- I haven't done any shirring yet- It's on the list though :lmao:
Those are THE CUTEST things EVER!!! I wish dd had some more hair- maybe by the time I get around to making them she will have some!! THANKS tj for scouring the net late late at night to find all this great stuff!!!
All your trip pics are great- looks like you had some pretty awesomely dressed kids!!
I agree about the mickey head buttons they would look really cute- But hey jham what do you use for the "real" buttons??....snaps?? velcro??

Ireland also got Ears from the dream team today!!
We have gone this time of year before- It was alot of fun walking right on to the rides, well almost right on!! Is she excited about losing her teeth?? I kinda dreaded it.

My ds was like this-well I guess he still is- he is so skinny but has longer legs- He will be 4 on sunday and I bet he could wear a 2T but it would only fit in the waist otherwise he would look like he is waiting for a flood!!!:lmao:
and she has STARTED USING THE POTTY. But Yeah for Lily!!!
Yeah Lily!!!!! She is one year minus one day older than my dd!! Their BDs are on Friday and Sat. this year!!!

Now that is creepy NO ONE on Main st. even in the rain!! Cool picture!!
The kids are cuties- what was your boy wearing??

I FINALLY got to go see National Treasure on saturday night!!!! DH & I actually went TO a movie- JUST THE 2 OF US!!!! The movie was good- what's on page 47.....

And WELCOME to the Newbies!!!!!

Fantastic pictures Lisa! What restaurant was that? I would love to go when it was that empty!

The restaurant was the one that is in the United States area of Epcot.
We did get some rain, but it just helped thin out the already thin crowds.:rotfl:

Hi!! We did Epcot today. There was NO ONE THERE!! It was downright creepy. There was a marathon in the morning, which was kind of exciting, but other than that...it was a ghost town...weird.

This is where we ate lunch...can you hear the crickets chirping...:rotfl:

We were over at Magic Kingdom today too - and it was pretty quiet - not quite a ghost town but quiet (the line for princesses was only a 15 - 20 minute wait!!!) We got stuck around the monsoon/hail storm but we just ended up hiding out in different places till it stopped - here's a shot of main street in the rain...

And a shameless post of my babies..Punky Brewster is wearing a princess Cameo shirt from the disney store and pants from a custom outfit I brought as a spare - she had on a sleeping beauty skirt but said she was cold from the rain...

I am so excited to see the "empty" park pictures! We leave in 9 days so I would love to encounter crowds like those.

Just wanted to say WELCOME! Glad you decided to jump in! You'll love it here - so many very helpful people, and inspiration galore! Hope you have a great trip to the Land!

I agree about the mickey head buttons they would look really cute- But hey jham what do you use for the "real" buttons??....snaps?? velcro??

I used velcro for the bitty baby, but for DDs I actually made buttonholes! I made them a little bigger than the main head circle. You kind of have to angle the button through the hole by putting one ear through first, then the head, but it is not a problem. And can I say I got the Brother 7700 from Costco for Christmas and button holes are so easy on that machine! I actually like them now! It even sews 2 or 4 hole buttons on FOR YOU!

We leave in less than 2 weeks and I have so much sewing to do!!! Plus, I have training all week this week so will be too busy to do anything! Luckily I was able to sew all weekend. I wish I were as quick as some of you ladies. I swear I spend more time with my seam ripper than my sewing machine. Directional fabrics just do me in every time!!!! I always put them on (ruffles) backwards, etc. and end up having to rip them out.

Anyways, this weekend I finished my dd's Epcot dress, got started on ds's epcot overalls (ran out of red thread so had to stop), finished ds's AK shirt, finished dd's Tigger shorts. My first attempt at shorts. I thought they looked really silly but then added a ruffle on the bottom and they actually are adorable! I'm going to post pics of all when they are all done and I can my models motivated!

I'll say thanks in advance to all of those I have CASE'd.......I really want to CASE the tink dresses that I've seen but I'm afraid I just don't have time.

Hurray!!!! Sounds like she's getting it down. :) This is the same thing that my 3 year old did. We were on vacation when she was about 2.5 and she decided she was a big girl and wanted panties right then and there! So of couse I complied and went out and got her some. Did I mention that we were on vacation? LOL 1000 miles away from home. We even bought a little potty to put in the van for the drive home. She did great! Once they make up their mind that they're gonna do it there is no stoppin them. Yeah for Lily!!!!

Happy Monday Everybody!

Okay, when did this thread start moving so fast! Yikes! I'm about 20 pages behind again and it's only been a few days since I've been on. I'm off to Joann's to buy fabric for our upcoming trip. My husband just rolled his eyes but I've got coupons and they are having a sale, and I don't want my kids to go without customs (that would be torture!). So off I go!

I'll check back in later!

There sale is good right now.

Someone sent me a funny video of the characters goofing around. I posted the link to the video, but after going back and watching it, I decided that it was a little "adult" and shouldn't be posted here. They were just bumping into each other in an "ahem" funny way, in costume. I hear french voices, so it's obviously a EURO Disney thing...LOL If anyone wants the link, just PM me.

He was in a little carters t-shirt and jean shorts DH would die if I put him in custom stuff... he had a buzz light year shirt on earlier in the day but puked on it :confused3 :scared1: so he got changed before we left home.

Directional fabrics just do me in every time!!!! I always put them on (ruffles) backwards, etc. and end up having to rip them out.

These fabrics get me too - i just cut a pattern upside down!!! I was SO upset, luckily I had bough just enough extra fabric to make it work!
