hey ladies! so glad there wasnt too much to catch up on from the weekend!:) i was going to attempt some bows- real simple ones. just the "stacked/layered" ones. how do you get them all to stay still while youre adding more stacks? are you twisting the wire around the middle, then add another, then twist, then add another? does any of this make sense?:confused3

on another note, castle creations, did i miss your post (w/ pics) of the layered skirt you made with minnie dot fabric?

loved the minnie outfit with the angled heads! anyone else made anything lately w/ tulle? show me pics! tulle is my new obsession!

I've seen where people are starting to list the long sleeved t-shirts with the fur cuffs (already and it's only June) Of course I want one of these!!! How do you make them? Anyone have any experience making these? Where do you find the fake "fur"? I was wondering if you could do it by velcro so you could change out the colors of the fur on a white tee? Any pics of anyone having one of these?

I would love to know that too! *Maybe* I could start with something like that. It can't be that hard to make can it?

I've purchased the faux fur at Joann Fabrics. They should be coming out with a lot of different fur options shortly for Halloween. It's very simple to sew it to the sleeves of a t-shirt. It would be more complicated to figure out how to attach it with velcro. Maybe you could do it as a cuff where the velcro is attached to the inside of the cuff. You could slide the cuff into place on the sleeve where you've sewn the other side of the velcro. It might be sort of bulky, though.

Could a total idiot do this? Seriously, I have put together a small quilt top and I do have a sewing machine. Is this something I could do? Do you sew it by hand or machine? Is the fur washable?

Sorry for so many questions. I would love to have a few of these but don't want to spend the $$$$.

Thanks!

I need to help with an idea. I have a disney embroidery machine. I just got the card of Hugs and Kisses. It's various characters kissing. Like Minnie Kissing Mickey in the Brave little tailor. Plus I have the Princess card and it has some of the princesses with a prince. JoAnnes has on clearence a Valentine fabric, with hearts and M&M kissing. I'm thinking patchwork something. But the squares will probably be on the bigger side. Or maybe just run the different embroider scenes around a flounce.

Anyone with an idea?

LOL! Anyone could do it! I don't think there is a right way or a wrong way to do it. You may want to do it by hand and see how it goes. The fur can be hard to work with using the machine. I think the fur is probably only hand washable, although I did make a skunk costume using some curly fur that was machine washable. Check the washing instructions on the bolt when you pick out your fur.

I think joannes will sell the fur here pretty soon. It looks easy to do. I may have to try those soon!

I don't know anything about the embroidery machines. Can you adjust the size of the images to make them fairly small? If so, I think the flounce/ruffle idea is great! If you did the body of the skirt in the hearts fabric you could do a white ruffle at the bottom of the skirt with the embroidery running all around it. That would be adorable! I've seen quite a few patchwork skirts with the embroidered squares. Those are also quite cute.

Thanks! I think I will try this... I'm running out of money to buy things! :rotfl2:

ATTENTION!!! ATTENTION!!!! ok now that i have it, i just had to share....
i was on ebay and stumbled upon a store LUKE c6v37 (seller is broken*and*beautiful) anyway, she had the CUTEST polymer beads for sale. it was like 5 characters or so for 9.99. she says she has lots of sets and her shipping prices were good too.

tink561- she had the most gorgeous, yet simple princess outfits. i immeadiately thought of your little one. my budget wont allow it or id scoop up a cindy one for my dd.

anyway, thought id share. check out her store if you have time!

how sad when you cant even stay away from this thread long enough not to have two posts back to back!:rotfl2: anyway, question for all:

i think i have the three tier twirl skirt down pretty good. ive made 2, both using patchwork squares. now idl like to try a twirl skirt w/ vertical strips. im thinking im still gonna have a top tier (or the drop waist as ive seen it referred to) and then my 2nd tier would just be the vertical strips as long as i want. then hem the bottom. does this sound like it will work?

Saw the beads they are cute. her outfits seem a little overpriced. can find the same pieces 20 - 25 $ less from other sellers. but those beads are cute!

I just e-mailed the Epcot applique pattern to those of you who asked. I didn't have e-mail addresses for three or four of you and I can't send an attachment with a PM. Please PM me with your email address if you didn't receive it already in your email, and I'll be happy to get that right off to you. There were a lot of people interested in it, so maybe I'll see if I can figure out how to post it here for everybody.

WOW I just found this board today!! and this is the first thread I stumbled on. I love to sew and we just booked our trip for Disneyland for Thanksgiving weekend! there are some seriously awesome outfits on these 155 pages!

Here is something I made today. I had these fabrics lying around and figured I'd better get them sewn into something. I wanted a more "earthy" look for Animal Kingdom. Hope you all like it. This is my first time appliquing a Minnie face.

CASTLECREATIONS---Do you use a satin stitch or an embroidery machine for your appliques. They look great! LOVE the dress!!!
