I'm HOME!!!!!!!!
I missed you guys! But, I especially missed my mostly sane family. Plus, my fairly quiet, clean, not too many people in it, no puddles of dog pee on the carpet, house. What a horrible vacation!! We didn't do a darn thing because someone was sick every day we were there. But, I did get a few pictures of Tessa, Sawyer, and cousin Shylynn wearing their outfits I made. I didn't get a picture of the build-a-bears in their matching skirts, though. Just picture them in the skirts, with one little paw foot pointed.

And just 'cuz I thought it was cute:
th_Prettygirlsundertreesmall.jpg

Glad you are home! Love the pictures. I've always thought Tessa has the most gorgeous eyes!

Whew! What a week! Hope you guys don't mind a little mini trip report here. With pics of the kids' customs, of course! This will be picture heavy and I'll have to split it into two posts, so bear with me, please!!

We flew down on Saturday, stayed the night at a nearby hotel, then headed to Disney first thing on Sunday so we'd have the whole day. It worked out great! Well, except that whole freezing/ice thing here in KC on Saturday. We live at the bottom of a big hill and I was so afraid we wouldn't make it off of our street to go to the airport. But we made it and our flight was on time and everything!

Day 1 (Sunday, Dec. 9)
We checked in first thing at All-Star Music and they actually had a room ready for us! We stayed in a Family Suite and it was so nice for the kids to have their own sleeping space! We did EPCOT for our first day. We also had Chef Mickey for dinner that night, so the kids wore their Minnie/Mickey outfits. Mickey and Minnie both made a big fuss over their outfits! It was so cool!

Day 2 - Monday
We did MGM and ate at Whispering Canyon. Again, tons of comments from Cast Members. So fun!

Day 3 - Tuesday
We did Magic Kingdom and the Christmas Party. I can't find any good pics of DD in her Christmas custom. Oh well. She slept in the stroller a majority of the night, anyway. Missed the parade and everything!

Day 4 - Wednesday
We slept in - recovering from the night before, then ate lunch at Kona, then headed to EPCOT for the afternoon.

Day 5 - Thursday
We had lunch reservations at Play-n-Dine, so we headed to MGM.

-- We'll call this the BEFORE photo.

All was well until about 1:00. Our lunch reservations weren't until 1:30, and we had a few minutes before we wanted to check in for lunch, so DD, DS and I stopped to watch a few minutes of the High School Musical show and DH headed to the bathroom. Well, the kiddos are dancing away, having a good old time, I get the camera out, go to try and snap a pic, then WHAM! DD falls flat on her face and then starts bawling her eyes out. She lifts up her head and blood is GUSHING EVERYWHERE! Oh my heck! I just froze. I was holding her face in my hands, trying to figure out where the blood was coming from, but I just couldn't DO anything. Yes, I am a nurse. But this was MY kid and I was sorta freaking out. A very nice couple saw what had happened and ran over to help, with napins and ice. So I finally figured out that she had busted her head open and most likely needed stitches. She had also busted up her bottom lip a good bit. Someone called the paramedics and they confirmed that she did need stiches, so they called the CentraCare van and we headed over there. She ended up getting dermabond, the liquid stitches, so I was really glad for that. As soon as she got her liquid stitches and some Ibuprofen, she was good to go. Kids are amazingly resilient. I just wish moms were, too, LOL. I still get heart palpitations when I think about it. She did great and was back to her normal self that evening. From then on out, DH and I started calling her Head Wound Harry. She was not amused by this at all, insisting she was "just Ella." Her outfit somehow survived with only a tiny smudge that I was able to get out with one of those Tide sticks.

So, needless to say, we didn't make our Play-n-Dine lunch and hadn't eaten all day, so after a little rest in our suite, we went to Downtown Disney to eat and shop a little.

Here's the AFTER photo:
th_10.jpg

The Doctor said we only had to leave the band-aid on for a few hours, but she wouldn't let us take it off.

Ok, I think that's it for the first installment. I'll try to come back and do the second installment tonight after the kids are in bed!

Love the mini-trippie! I may have to do that when I get back. I love all of your kids' outfits! In fact your DS's shirts have inspired me to try and make a couple for my DSs before we leave. I want to use the red fabric with black Mickey heads and I had to use mine up on a friends' sons pjs and now I can't find it  so we shall see...

Doesnt it figure.....someone always sick and then to come home to snow and airport delays....makes ya want to just stay home next time. :confused3 The outfits are just adorable and the girls look so pretty together. Sawyer is having a blast on the trampoline! :yay: I am so glad you are back....we missed ya here too!!!!

Good morning, everyone. Sorry I haven't been around lately. With DD4's MRSA scare, I was out for awhile. And now I have some thyroid issues. I have to get a biopsy done on Dec 26. Merry Christmas to me. :sad2: I've been getting bloodwork and some tests done so not much time for the boards or sewing.

I do have a few things I need to post. Stripwork dresses and an I Spy bag. And I have to finish the kids winter dresses and a blanket or two.
Gosh so sorry about the health troubles. You are in my prayers

My DH and DD4 worked really hard decorating our yard. My DD4 put out our 2 deer, and manger scene, we aslo have 2 blow ups, but she loves to decorate for Christmas! Well, this morning someone decided they did not like what they had done and drove through our yard and destroyed everything! I knew she would be soooo upset, so I went out to see what actually had happened! Luckily there was only one blowup that was completely destroyed, but I managed to fix everything esle and put it back.   How could someone be so MEAN?:confused3
:headache: I have two words for these kind of actions: End times!

People get ready! :hourglass

Well, I guess everyone is busy tonight! I have been dealing with my 2 kids for the past 4 hours!:scared1: My DD4 has asthma and it was really bad tonight!:scared: I gave her a breathing treatment and her inhaler several times and it just wasn't getting any better. I was preparing for an emergency room visit!
Garsh, I hate when I can't breath too. I am glad you got her feeling better and asleep. All those meds make you feel crumby. Hopefully it will pass and she will be good as new! :yay:

:welcome:BACK I am sorry you all were sick and didn't have such a good time. The outfits are adorable. Thank you again for helping me get the minnie dot fabric. I finally finished all three of them while you were gone. Take care and get some rest.

I am so happy she is ok. I would have been screaming for help and making a big scene. Looks like you had alot of fun and I love all the customs they are so cute.

T-beri: How about "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Dolly Parton and Rod Stewart? Now, that's obscure pairing!
It's 3 CD's..I'm sure I can't say what's all on them, but I can't see where some version of baby it's cold outside wouldn't be. I KNOW for a fact there is NO Josh Groban on it (purposely)
I have yet to get my photopass cd, should be coming this week, but I had a few pics that I had taken at WDW to share with everyone!

I found the camera, and took some nice snowy pictures. Unfortunately, it's allready starting to melt, so it isn't as impressive as it was yesterday! I'm uploading them now.

I have a picture of Little in a jumper in that pattern but it is only thumbnail size or I'd post it.
Here is mine, it is huge for my california king bed

Oh I am so sorry she fell. That is so scary. Poor Girl. Glad she bounced back quickly. I love their Mickey Pajamas very cozy.

Those outfits are adorable! What pattern did you use for the Mickey "Parts" shirt and the Friends around the world shirt for your DS? I really like the contrasting fabric and detail it adds. Your stuff looks so professional!

THose photos all turned out great too! Looks like you had a lot of fun.:dance3: Can't wait for the next installment.

DD's school hosted an Evening with Santa, games, cookies and hot chocolate. We got there at 6:00 (Santa was set to arrive at 6:30) and decided to start with the cake walk. DD didn't win and DS wanted to crawl around and check out all of the goodies. I wouldn't let him and he was not happy!! Next we went to the games - they had 4 different games set up in the gym. DS even got to play.

Waiting in line.

IMG_2759.jpg

As DD was picking out her prize for the last game, her principal announced that Santa was here!! We quickly got in line! Now when we went to see Santa at the mall, DS wanted nothing to do with him and cried while he sat on his lap. Because of this I didn't dress him in a cute Christmas outfit. So of course, he wanted to sit with him!!

IMG_2765.jpg

You can tell DD is thinking of what she wants for Christmas. DS is showing Santa the licorice that he won.

Cookies!!

don't have too many, don't know why. But also the most recent snow we had was about compacted into 2ft of ICE. YUCK!!!

Hello everyone, just caught up with the posts. Some cute stuff! We only got a dusting of snow where I am in WV. We did get some ice, though, and a lot of people were without power.

I am getting ready to pay for my room for Disney in April. I cannot wait, and looking at everyone's pics, it makes me more anxious for April! haha!

glorib, I hope dd is okay. My daughter fell one year during vacation, and had to have stitches in her chin. We were traveling on our way to Myrtle Beach, and had stopped for the night in Charlotte, NC. It was about midnight, and dd cut her chin open on the sofabed. Try finding a hospital in a strange town! It was horrible! At least at disney, you had the cm there for you.:goodvibes

I love the NYE outfit, too! It is too cute! And the quilts, they are great!

OK, I just ate my last cookie. Which kind of ticks me off. It wasn't that great of a cookie. If I'd have known it was my last I would have ate a better one. I just saw a picture B posted on his myspace page (www.myspace.com/workingclassproject) and OMG!!!! I have been thinking of walking to work but it's been in the upper 40's at 7 in the morning these last few days, so I was waiting for it to warm up. NO MORE!!! I can not continue to eat the way I've been. Being totally broke and having tons of carbs (hey, pasta's cheap) around the house has made me a major sugar junkie and I've been shrugging it off cause I'm too poor to fill my house w/ much else. Not to mention there hasn't really been enough food in the house to eat as frequently as neccessary. But I HAVE to be done with the excuses. I almost burst into tears when I saw it.

At my new job at the bloodbank there is ALWAYS food around. They keep cookies and cheese and whatever else available for donors. They bake the cookies fresh every morning (in one of those Ottis Spunkmeyer ovens) Not to mention an endless pot of coffee which would be fine except they have regular (not fat free) creamer and regular sugar which I have thought nothing of dumping in my coffee. A couple of the girls have dared me to NOT gain weight after starting let alone lose it and they have been less than helpful, but nowI see that I can not afford to gain a few so I have got to be VERY careful. UGH, I am just SO UGH...

I spied mr. square pants and my contributions:) now I feel all warm and fuzzy.

You can tell DD is thinking of what she wants for Christmas. DS is showing Santa the licorice that he won.

Cookies!!

Whew! What a week! Hope you guys don't mind a little mini trip report here. With pics of the kids' customs, of course! This will be picture heavy and I'll have to split it into two posts, so bear with me, please!!

Day 5 - Thursday
We had lunch reservations at Play-n-Dine, so we headed to MGM.

-- We'll call this the BEFORE photo.

!

Hey Glorib, just wanted to say that we saw you at MGM before the head incident behind the hat on Thursday. You were going one way talking to your husband, I was going the other, but I spotted your little guy in the stroller with his sunglasses on so he looked exactly like your signature pic. I didn't say anything because you were in conversation and we were headed in oppostie directions but I wished I would have. Hope your DD head is okay. I saw another little girl with a band aid in the exact same spot at Disney. My DD6 fell off the chain rope at Peter Pan but luckily all she got was a big goose egg and some small abrasions on the back of her head.

All your outfits look gorgeous.

We just got back last night so I will post pics tomorrow after I upload to photobucket.

I finished my niece and nephews shirts today! I think they look so cute!!! I love all of the great ideas I get on this thread!

Thanks everyone for your comments about the customs and DD's head. She's fine now and hey, she'll have a permanent Disney souvenir, right?

Day 6 - Friday
We had a big day with three customs! Yes, I made far too many!
Breakfast at Crystal Palace, then a Princess outfit for the day at MK, then Chip and Dale for dinner at Trail's End and then the Campfire.
Breakfast - I met Clutterbug briefly - she came over to our table after recognizing DS's shirt. I think I forgot to tell her who I was, though. Clutterbug, if you see this, thanks for coming over and sorry I was such a ditz and didn't properly introduce myself!

We also had a little Magical Moment. We were sitting by the fountain outside of the Castle and a Dream Squad member approached the kids and asked if they'd like to have some pixie dust and make a wish in the fountain. So they got to do that and then got Magical Moment certificates, signed by Snow White and all 7 dwarves! It was pretty cute!

DD meeting Cinderella - all the princesses made a fuss over DD and her outfit, which she just loved! (and so did I, LOL)

DD at the campfire - she would not meet Chip or Dale, but LOVED the smores!
She also finally let me take off her bandaid, so you can see her battle wound - I mean souvenir - in this pic.

Day 7 - Saturday
We spent most of the day at Animal Kingdom, then went to MK for the evening (to meet the princesses again), so two customs for this day. I also met a disboutiquer this day - Karen in TX? is that right? Anyway, she spotted DD's dress. Her DD was already getting on a ride, so I didn't get to see her, but Karen had a super cute Mickey Head top on!

Meeting Belle - Belle was so cute with Ella - she commented on DD's outfit, then kept talking to her, told her they must be sisters because they both have brown hair and brown eyes, then said she wished Ella could stay and be a princess with her. It just about melted my heart!

Day 8 - Sunday - our last day
We went to MK, then to downtown Disney. I didn't have a custom for DS on this day, so he just coordinated.

We flew home yesterday and are trying to adjust back to real life. It's no fun. I want to be on vacation forever!

I think that's it. It went by way too fast! We had an absolute blast and if I could go back tomorrow, I would. DH and I kept joking about looking for jobs and moving down there.

Hope everyone had a good week and I'm going to try to maybe catch up on the posts I missed, but I have a feeling it will take me a long time!

Now is this the neice that gives you a hard time and doesn't like anything? She is adorable and so is her brother (and their shirts!)

And glorib--more great photos! Your DD really does look just like Belle! And I love the gingham with the purple toile!
