Oh my gosh! The Little Einsteins fabric is adorable! I HAVE to get some of that! Has anyone seen it at Joanns or Walmart? The only Hancocks I know of (a round here) is about an hour away and I can't find the fabric on the Hancock website.:headache:

Cindee

I can get some and send it to you if you want. It wasn't on sale but they do have the 40% coupon in there ad. you/I could use for one of the pieces. I think it was $6 something. I'll check my receipt if you want.

Cindee--

Look up little einsteins fabric on voldemort and you should find it. ;)

It's that time of year! I found where to send Letters from Santa to get the North Pole Post mark. There's also a place in New York. I'll try to find that one.

Postmarked Letters From the North Pole

Want a child's special holiday letter to have a North Pole post mark? Here's how you can do it:

Put your stamped, addressed letters and cards in a large, manila envelope and mail them to:

North Pole Cancellations, U.S. Postal Service, 5400 Mail Trail, Fairbanks, Alaska, 99709-9998.

In past years the official postmark from North Pole Alaska (near Fairbanks) reads:

"Seasons Greetings, North Pole Station, North Pole, AK 99705."

You can also send your snata letters to;
North Pole Post office
Santer Letters Postmark
325 Santa Claus Lane
North Pole Alaska 99705

Well, I don't want to ruin Deann's vacation! This was taken by grumpy husband who was on a work call and you would not believe the dirty look I got when I asked him to take another one. Sorry, no twirling until Jacob gets home from school.

th_100_2003.jpg
It is so pretty! I really like the black sparkles around the top. I don't have a suggestion to make the skirt poufier. Although, I've heard WalMart bags are good for poufiness! :rotfl2:

I love it when you all talk about your grumpy/imperfect husbands. It makes me feel better about the grump I usually have around here. :3dglasses (this smiley has nothing to do with my post, but I've never used it and I really wanted to)

I really like the pants!! Make sure you post pics with the shirts when it's all done!

We flew Jet Blue and I think I will never fly another airline if at all possible. It was cheaper than Ted and has Direct TV in each seat, more leg room and comfy leather seats (geez, I sound like a commercial) it was a great flight. DD was tuned into Wilber, Hi-5, and then Nick cartoons. The child barely blinked.
Wow, Jet Blue sounds Fantastic!!! We are flying on United on Dec. 8th and I'm not looking forward to it (I've heard bad things about their customer service). But, our tickets were $100/each, so I can't complain too much!

Geez, you guys are getting all fancy on me. I was just going to stick it in the mailbox (after the mail comes) and tell Tessa it was from Santa. :upsidedow

Here's what I should have been working on last night when I was on here chit-chatting. I finished them this morning while Tessa and Sawyer played with Little People (thank you Fisher Price). I don't know what possessed me to make 4 of these things. They didn't turn out as I had hoped. I wanted the pettisirt part to show more. But, as with most YCMT patterns, there was math involved... I did make up the dimensions for the little skirts (for Build-A-Bears) all on my own. Tessa insisted that she wanted yellow bias tape on her skirt, but I really wish she would have wanted red. The red looks prettier!

11-29-074skirts.jpg

Here's a close-up so you can see they're not American flag skirts. :rotfl:
11-29-07skirtclose.jpg

Now, I have 2 long-sleeved white t-shirts that I want to applique something on to match these. Does anyone have any ideas? I want to use one (or both) of the fabrics from the skirt.

Those are super cute!!!! As far as the top goes, maybe use the stripe to make some lollipops (I think that is what the pic is of) and maybe use the gingerbread man too.

So here is what I was working on last night when the "late night club" was in session-
47b7cf08b3127cceb0bcc9547bdc00000026101AZsXLhszbMY

47b7cf08b3127cceb0bcc09a3b8e00000020101AZsXLhszbMY

I got one pair completely finished and the other 2 just need the top and bottom hems and elastic- They are for christmas morning- I am going to Iron-on some of those awesome DISigns with the star wars characters.

And here is a close up of the little einsteins fabric
47b7cf08b3127cceb0bccb94fa2d00000026101AZsXLhszbMY
These are great! I want to make my son some pajamas.
We've already visited with the famous Peabody ducks. They were napping and completely unimpressed with the small person. She had a great time on the airplane. We flew Jet Blue and I think I will never fly another airline if at all possible. It was cheaper than Ted and has Direct TV in each seat, more leg room and comfy leather seats (geez, I sound like a commercial) it was a great flight. Well, I'll check in later. We've got a computer so I'll be online. I'd hate to get so far behind on the thread again that I can't catch up. :)

I'll be looking for the other custom mommies. If you all are wired up while you're here maybe we can figure out how to run into each other at MVMCP.

Have fun!!! Are you going to Character Premier? I hear they opened their new store. I have always wanted to see those ducks, but we have never gotten around to it!

I like the gingerbread men idea. These did turn out really cute! Is Tessa going to wear hers on Sunday?

If you think I am stuffing wal mart bags up my skirt you are crazy! :rotfl2:

Um, why did you make four of them? I am hoping they are for a neice or something because I just can't see Sawyer wearing one!

I think a gingerbread man on the shirt would be super cute and not that hard. Ric rac on his arms and legs, buttons for eyes, how cute would that be?

I forgot to quote the star wars pants: so cute! I have some soccer ball fabric I need to make some pjs out of for a cool little boy. :cool2:

Yoo Hoo, all you late nighter ladies:wave: ...
Ok, curious folk just gotta know...after you put the younglings to bed
& get cranking out these fabulous creations,
do you get to sleep in the next morning?:confused3
Does DH get the kids to school for you?:smooth:

I must say I'm just green with envy because ds(6)
get's the bus at 6:45 am. :faint: He goes to bed quick
at 8:30-9pm, but he's an early riser-often up before
the sun at 6:00 am or earlier. :sad2: It is impossible for
me to stay up late & create/work on anything-my brain
is a mush puddle at 8:00pm!!!:confused3 :rotfl2:

I was determined to get some sewing done last night
& drank coffee for dinner, to fight the exhaustion.:drinking1
Still didn't work-I cut up fabric all wrong & crooked. :sad2:
Then decided-I'll just cyber Christmas shop.:surfweb:
Just about snoozed out some where between "shopping cart" & price comparing!:ssst:
So I hit the hay & couldn't rest all night due to my
cup of joe surging & my brain trying to do financial calculations (shopping)!!!:scared1:

Here's to all the late night crew:thumbsup2 ,
I admire you much & one day-one day hope to be in the company!!!

Definitely applique Gingy & some sparkly glitter snowing around. I saw this fabric in the store & love it. It's soooo cute!!!!!

Wow these are cute. I never thought about making Build a bear outfits. Great Idea!

Yea Little People! BUT, what happened to Butterscotch the pony??:rolleyes1

As you can see, it's not that much fluffier so if anyone has any tricks for making the netting stick out more I would appreciate it. And it's itchy! I'm going to have to wear something under it!

Love the Dachshund Skirt! Very cute. I am not sure how to make it fluffier maybe some of that horsehair braid in the hem? But it sure is cute.

Cute stars wars pants! Post photos of your shirts too!

I love the Little Einsteins fabric. DS saw it and said "awww cute"! I think it would be great to applique on overalls or maybe even make a little camp shirt.

I can see a difference. Could barely see your do on the origional picture. You could try some horsehair braid. Or make a petticoat with more netting in it. I use petticoat net. The only place I've seen it is Walmart. But I was just in JoAnne's and they have some colored petticoat net in the bridal department. It's like a craft net, but really, really stiff.

I have the Gingerbread fabric too and have cut out pattern pieces for a long sleeve dress. I am putting a gingerbread boy on the bodice. I also have the striped red/white fabric.....hey do we shop at the same place??:upsidedow :rotfl: and two white long sleeve shirts. Great minds think alike. I am going to make pants with the striped fabric and then applique candy canes on the white shirt using the striped red/white fabric. What do you think? Wanna try it too???:thumbsup2

Where is a good (cheap) place to buy those Converse High Tops for kids?
I would like to get DD some but I would prefer if she tried them on first.

All the cuffs I have are the crocheted fun fur ones. The pattern is free in Teresa's links. I bought the pattern from YCMT. I don't know if they are exactly the same or not, but the cuffs look the same. I don't want to know because I hate the idea of paying good money for a free pattern! Here is a picture of my cuffs:
DSCN2948.jpg

Well, I guess I'm just going to have to do some crocheting...it was your outfit that inspired me to want them in the first place. :) I bought the same fabric, but combined them with some others to make a patchwork twirl skirt, so its not a total CASE, just good inspiration!

Awww, thanks! Can't wait to see photos! I make my sister-in-law crochet them, but I don't think they are too difficult. Oh, and you can't beat the fact that they are washable! DD wore hers to get photos with Santa. He gave her a candy cane. Later I found a large piece of candy cane hiding in one cuff. I just rinsed it and pulled it out no problem.

May sound crazy but here is what my mom did years ago (nearly 30 years ago) when I was in a wedding, mind you the dress was floor length. She made a 1/2 slip for it and then at the bottom she attached a hoop (similar to a hula hoop). It made it stand out.

I am going to throw out another crazy suggestion. If you have enough spare/scrap material, make yourself a twirl skirt but instead of the skirt having a hem, make it like you would a puffy curtain and stuff it with the Wal-Mart sacks. Does that make sense? I bet it would work.

I think your apple is great! I think I tackled an apple just after I got the mickey head down. I love your spider skirt: it looks just like the one I made for my daughter. I wish I would have thought to make a spider web t-shirt: it looks perfect with it!

That skirt is beautiful. I think if I had to rely on math for something like that, it would look pretty sad. Great job on everything!

LOL at the math comment. Math and I really get along so I would much rather use that than a pattern if I can. Oh, and I did an apple first and a Mickey head second!

Well I am glad to be back among my friends on the DIS, especially since my SIL just called and rubbed it in that they are leaving for WDW in 10 days...which is the same time that we were supposed to be going so I am kind of bummed right now.

But on the up side I got a job at a Mortgage company as a loan officer and they are willing to let me work whatever hours I want and my DH told the kids a few weeks ago that if I had a job that next year we would go to WDW!!!! So I am going to work hard and get some money coming in for the vacation fund!     That deserves a 5 banana!

Sorry you're bummed :grouphug: but yay on the job with flexible hours! :cheer2:

So I found my digital camera, DH still doesn't know where his new smaller one is, oh well, I have mine so at least we've got something. Sorry I don't have the pants and stuff with them but they are all packed. These are the new ones I've been working on.

Look at all the cute jumpers! Have a great trip!

tarazandra, I lost your post, but loved the pics!!

Oh yeah, and he packed his own clothes, not by choice but because I told him he could go naked for all I cared!!!

Thanks, Deann! Oh, and be careful what you say, my dh packed his stuff last year, guess what he forgot? His underwear!! All he had was the pair on his hiney. And did you know there is almost no men's underwear to be bought in almost all of Disney World? We finally managed to find some and they didn't have his size :rotfl: So we kept looking and ended buying just one pair for $25! Guess who had to handwash a pair every night for our whole trip? :laundy:

I'm really liking that with the black shirt underneath! Very cute!!

All of the outfits are so cute!! I'm thinking we need to set your little Minnie up with my little Mickey. He loves older women!:thumbsup2

You have a bunny!? We had a bunny named Jed (or Jedder bunny) long ago. I almost wrote "a few years ago", but it's been 13 years. Time flies!!

Thanks, Heather! I like it with the black shirt too :) We've had two house bunnies, one was a white angora named Augustus and the other was a gray dwarf bunny named Cleopatra. Sadly, we've been bunny-free for about 4 years now.

cute ,,, i love the last one that is def a case outfit okay they all are.
Thanks Spongie!

Aww, I love the outfits! The gypsey one was really cute!!!
What an adorable little Minnie Mouse!!!!

We found out that our van needed some expensive work the week we were planning on driving to Florida last year! But, we ended up getting a cheap flight down, ($500ish round trip or all of us) That was SO much fun!!! 2 1/2 hours and we were there!!! It STILL amazes me!

There was a little dance recital at the mall last year, and I could NOT believe the outfits or the moves that they had the little girls doing! Totally inapropriate! (Lyddy and Arminda weren't in the class, we just stopped to watch)

Thanks for the nice comments on the outfits! We have to fly since we're coming from CA, otherwise we'd have to take a week of our vacation time just to get there and back!
Inappropriate moves is exactly why Tabitha is not in a hip hop class. It's taught by her Musical Theater teacher and many kids are in both classes, but not my kid. She's 8! She should not be dancing to music about "come here boys" and shaking her non-money makers. No how.
