OHHHHH how freaky!

A few months ago I googled something totally innocent and up popped the WORST porn....several images on this front page!!! !!! Thank God my kids were not in the room! I'd give anything to keep them away from those things I saw. Consequently, we upped the security screening BIG time. You can never be too careful!

We caught a virus once and ended up having to get a new hard drive. Love the internet, but there's such baaaaad people out there. Be careful.

I agree. Exact same thing happened to us with the porn. I was searching for a cheerleading coach gift. HOw could that stuff pop up with me searching for that?! We even still get some junk emails as a result. OUr security is not picking them up. It enfuriates me!
Anywho.... we had the same thing happen and our computer basically crashed and we lost ALOT of important info.:headache:

Hi, it's me, the lurker who made a couple of ribbon shirts with iron on stuff and then made one actual sewn ribbon shirt. I bought a sewing machine on Black Friday at Target. It came with an instruction book and a DVD. I hope to start making some stuff like you awesome designers!!

I just wanted to say I wish that this thread was easier to find things in. I know that off and on, I've seen people post directions of how to do things. It's impossible to find those though with 1,371 pages. Do you think they might give you all your own subforum one of these days?

Well everyone, I hate to say it again, but I'll be off the DIS and our sweet little thread here for about 2 weeks .

The movers come tomorrow and we're moving across the country again! :drive:

They should have everything packed and loaded in the truck by Wednesday, Thursday we need to clean the house we are living in now and then we will be on our way to Wisconsin by Friday morning. Luckily for us, the company let us load our car on the moving truck and we are flying! My biggest fear was driving through 2 mountain ranges and across the prairie of Wyoming, Nebrtaska and Iowa in the middle of the winter! You know it'd be just our luck to have the 3 worst winter storms to ever hit those areas in the history of mankind if we were driving!!

So please, if you are so inclined, remeber us in your prayers- I'd really appreciate it. I'll try to check in while we're in hotels, but it's not always possible to do that. And.... if you'd like, I'll post pics of the new house and all the many boxes we have to unpack once we get there! You guys can cyber-help me unpack- ok???

Take car in the meantime my friends! I'll miss reading your posts! :grouphug:

I'm pretty sure there's a coupon code out there for youcanmakethis.com. Can someone help me find it? I've searched disboards (no joy) and google'd it (again, no luck).

Thanks!

First of all, I want to tell everyone that you can't be Teresa's sister unless you spell her name right!! There is no "h" in Teresa!! So there! :p

Happy Birthday Heather Sue!party: party: Theresa that was really sweet what you wrote! I love how nice you are too each other!

I have a sister and we get along but we don't see each other as often as I would like. She works hard and hasn't been able to have any children. Her DH is kind of odd too. :sad2: But when we get together we have fun and she loves my kids.

So here's to Sisters! And Happy Birthday! Do you have any special plans?
Henry and I went to dinner BY OURSELVES!!!   It was great!

AWE...thats so sweet. I hope some day my girls have this type of relationship too. I don't with my own sister, so I try hard now to make sure my 3 get along as well as possible.
I'm sure they will!!!

I've been working on a new outfit. This portion will either be the front of a jumper, or a peasant top. I haven't decided yet.

WONDERFUL!!! I can't imagine how long that would take!

I am adopting Theresa and Heather as my sisters too. Mine doesn't like me.
Aw...how sweet. I like you, but not as much as I like Teresa! ;)

Ah, how could ANYONE not like you? I understanding wanting to adopt Theresa and Heather though. I don't have a sister at all. SO, to have a sister like Theresa or Heather would be a dream!
You guys are just wonderful! You probably wouldn't like us nearly as much in person, though! We have this "issue" with always having to be right.:lmao:

Wow, Wow, Wubbzie!! That is so pretty! I love it!!

That's just about the sweetest thing!!! :bday:
Thank you!!!

Oh Heather, what a sweet gift. How wonderful to have had that type of relationship that she wanted you to have that. I'm sure it makes you sad but happy at the same time.

On a happy note, Happy Birthday!
I just love Jo, too. We are very close, even more so this last year after we lost Stan. She is only 58 years old, so way too young to be my actual grandma. But, she was married to stan for 32 years.

AWWWWWWWW! Happy Birthday HeatherSue!!!!! What'd ya GET???? :yay:
A black and blue foot! :scared: I was carrying empty totes from Christmas decorations into the basement and ran my foot, full force, into Henry's scuba diving air tanks. YEEE-OUCH!!!! We also went (hobbled) out to look for a jewelry armoire for my birthday, but didn't find what I was looking for yet.

I was going to suggest that you make sure you have the right ruffler for the type of shank you have. low, high, or slanted. I know there are pictures of the different ones in the photobucket account.
Yep, that's what I was going to say. I thought I had a low shank machine and the ruffler seemed to fit on it, but it would clunk and break my needle instead of making ruffles. So, I got a slank ruffler and it works great!

Welcome back, lurker!! When someone posts really good instructions, Teresa usually puts the post in the bookmarks (located in my siggy, Teresajoy's siggy, and the first post in this thread). I don't really want our own subforum because then we'd lose the "family" feel that this thread has! Of course, it would be easier to follow, I suppose.

Well everyone, I hate to say it again, but I'll be off the DIS and our sweet little thread here for about 2 weeks .
Good luck with your move!! We'll miss you!!:grouphug:

Good luck with the move! We'd love to see photos of the new house, and I am great at cyber-unpacking!

that turned out way cute and lil lilly's is adorable too , omg you cut jayden's hair :scared1: it looks cute..
My Jayedyn just asked me if i could print off the picture of your Jayden so she could hang it up in er room on her friends wall.. i think she may have made a huge impression on my daughter . it is hard because she does not have a sister and never will... how would you feel about adopting another jayedyn ;) .

you guys are just too adorable:goodvibes i wish me and my sister could have your relationship:rolleyes1 i think it is getting better now but we are 8 yrs apart so it is hard:headache:

Thanks, tell Jayedyn hi from Jayden. That is so cute! We are adopting her for sure! Jayden would love to be her big sister! And we can't wait to see you all again. You and Wendy will even have to bring the boys some time. My boys would love it. Too bad it's not summer and we could throw them all in the backyard!

I feel like I missed out yesterday. No time for computers or sewing. I had unexpected company and had to convert my craft/sewing/computer room back into a guest bedroom. But on the good side, I got to see my neice and on her 19th birthday even! She lives in Alaska and goes to school a couple of hours away from here so that has been fun. We did go see Enchanted yesterday---LOVED it! Especially the fact that she sews! I think Giselle should be our new mascot (not that we had an old one).

Can we just drop the boys off?????? Really they're no bother at all. Just throw them a box of Fruity Pebbles if they get hungry. We can call FEMA after they leave...really. :rolleyes1 Just don't get them wet or feed them after midnight!

I made DD a pesant top last night out of a stretchy velvet. The material was a PITB, it turned out pretty! DD loves it, it's sooo soft - she was petting it this morning! Now I just need to make the stripwork jumper to go with it! I used the YCMT Portrait Peasant dress pattern. I just made the bodice part longer and didn't add the "skirt". I've said it before...I love this pattern!!

I need to try this pattern, I've got it, just haven't used it yet. What a great idea to use the velvet, it makes a simple pattern so much more 'glamorous'!

I've wondered the same thing - why don't they open a sub-forum? Have you tried looking in the bookmarks? There is a huge wealth of information there!

This is awesome! I love that fabric as a peasant top.

This was super easy to do! The instructions on how to put it together confused me, but with some help from eeyore3847 we figured it out!

I hadn't looked at the bookmarks in a while. I looked through them again today, and it seems like a lot of the directions are in there. I'll just have to try harder to keep up with this thread to see all the good ideas!

So dh said since I am currently using a borrowed sewing machine that I will need to return eventually, that he would get me one for Christmas :santa: .

What machine should I ask him for?? Any recommendations?

Thanks!!

what are you planning to sew and in what volume?

:santa: Well today I finally got our new tree up! DD9 and DD4 helped me. We had a little scrawny tree so this one was quite a step up! Notice the tags still on it :rotfl:

IMGP4457.jpg

So here are the girls in front of the tree before we started decorating it. The two little ones are wearing their Christmas Bear dresses. They were a pre-printed pattern which was soooo much fun and easy to make. It took about 2-3 hours per dress. I sewed bells on so they are jingly! :thumbsup2

IMGP4452.jpg

Here's the hem:

IMGP4459.jpg

Here's the bodice:

IMGP4460.jpg

Here is the back of the dress.....can you see the bell button?

IMGP4461.jpg

Instead of adding a pocket to the front of the dress...I turned it into a little purse for DD4!

IMGP4462.jpg

And there you have it! Oh here is the tree all done.....

The big tree...
IMGP4470.jpg

And the little one which was my husbands tree before we got married :santa:

IMGP4467.jpg

mostly clothes for my three girls; dresses, skirts, tops, tulle ballet skirts, you know all that girly kinda stuff :cutie: Mostly this would be a hobby, but who knows maybe I'd get good enough for :wizard: one could hope ;)

Thanks again!
