Chip has a brown nose - remember chocolate chip. Dale has the red nose.

They are fun. Last year, they pushed my dd twins around in their stroller. :lmao:

Oh T, you know you were a Feldman girl. The long hair, the bandana, the bad boy attitude, come on!!!

Luke Perry...Brad Pitt... NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! :scared1:

1. NO!!! I watched Lost Boys last night just to be sure and I am positive that at the time that movie came out Corey Haim was it!!! As "THE Corey's" did more I'm sure I eventually flipped, but initially a Haim fan. My girlfriends were always cooler than me and LOVED the bad boys so I always went the opposite way to be different. Besides, he was cute in the bathtub scene...:rotfl:

2. I KNOW!!! What was I thinking??:confused3

Glad Utahmama, spongie and Jham had a great time.....

I think us Tampa girls should gtg. Nana will be down for Thanksgiving and I happen to know this great singer/songwriter who is playing at this cool cafe in Safety Harbor w/ great food and coffee (and some boutique wines;) ) ON SATURDAY I'll be there- ya'll should come too!!!!

I talked to my2angels this afternoon (i think she thinks I'm stalking her) She was busy packing along with her DD's who seemed to think that taking the clothes OUT of the suitcase was helping:rotfl: Yeah. She sounds extremely excited and ready for their trip.

I went home last night to sew all the pieces of Littles outfit together after laborously cutting them all out and ironing them and MY SEWING MACHINE IS SCREWED UP!!!! GRRR so I am now at my MIL's AGAIN to try to get it all together, keep your fingers crossed.

...t.

and I need a new rotary cutter blade and it is starting to tick me off:mad:

Hey, you can call me Jam anytime! I just wanted to post this photo of Me, Spongie, and Utah Mama from last night:

charliesangels.jpg

WOW!!! That's REMARKABLE!!!!
Has anyone ever told you that you all look like the girls in the Charlie's Angels pic I posted earlier??? :rotfl2:

Chip has the 2 teeth together, I always think "chip"ped tooth, black nose. Dale has the 2 teeth that are gapped and a brown nose. There is something with thier eyebrows to, but I always forget unless I see them side by side.
Do you wanna know how my DH says he remembers between Chip & Dale?? :rotfl2:

Chocolate Chip (for his black nose) and Drunken Dale (for his red nose). :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey t - what time on Saturday??? We have some stuff in the afternoon, but if Nana is up to it, maybe we'll come by!!!

B plays from 6:30-10:00pm at Taste in Safety Harbor. It is right on Main St.

I thought I would ask this question here, because I trust everyone's advice so much.
DW asked me what I would like for Christmas. Can you believe I told her an embroidery machine! Yikes! If the guys at work knew that, I would never hear the end of it!
Anyway, I think is was Nana that did the Machine embroidered turkey applique, and I just like how smooth and perfect it looked, (yes my perfectionism is showing through!)
I know that I have seen on YCMT the files that you can buy to make these appliques, but what machine would you recommend?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Tom, I don't know much about other machines, but I have Husqvarna Vikings, and their Designer one and Designer SE are very user friendly. I have been using my D1 for almost 4 years now, and have had an SE for 2+ and I LOOOVE them. The SE connects directly to the computer and is a complete sewing machine too. The Vikings are VERY PRICEY though (VERY), though I know VIking is running a financing deal right now, from the mailings I get.

A warning: Embroidery is ADDICTING and can get expensive!! I love to buy designs, and had to buy a card reader-writer to use the brother Disney cards.

Good luck!! I'm SURE you'll use it well and a lot, no matter which you get.

Thanks, I will let DW know about this. We might have to venture out and "test drive" a few machines.

Yup the WHOLE time and about a half hour before.

RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER, RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER:headache:

You are all clearly enjoying your families and getting ready for tomorrows dinner while I am slaving away on a dress for thanksgiving that you all made me make. I swear I have made more mistakes than EVER today. I don't know when 44x44=40 but at some point that was the math I did. Halfway through sewing the bias tape I realize that this dress is not DOUBLE her measurement its QUADRUPLE What an idiot I swear!!! Okay, I've vented and had some coffee and am going to go back and ATTEMPT to finish this dress by midnight!:surfweb:

1. I can't watch youtube at work, but if that's the commercial where the wolf eats the bird or chipmunk then spits it out and keeps on singing, then I have a ha ha story for it too!
My roommate (she's really my partner, but whatever) had surgery recently and that commercial came on when she was in her drugged stupor.
She looked at it.
Looked at me.
Looked at the commercial again.
Looked at me again.

It took everything I had to keep a straight face - I just KNEW she was thinking "Is this really happening or is this the drugs?!?!?!"
She said later she was thinking maybe we should buy that car so it would happen to us. :rotfl2:

2. There's always a DIS connection! One of my online friends on here has a sister who plays Anastasia and will probably be there for the Christmas party since she was for the halloween party!!!

Hmm. I'll see if I can steal a pic.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: at the first story - thats "priceless"! :)

I have to say the girl who played Anastasia the two times we met them was AMAZING - she was PERFECT - here's a pic of my DD and the step sisters...

Many thanks to Theresajoy and everyone for all their help and encouragement, I finished this just this morning. Dd5 (in all her drama glory) said she loves it and is wearing it now. I'm sure she'll get it dirty before we leave, but it's okay. The sleeves are a little short and I wish the bodice was a little longer too....But it's a start!!! I'll make her another one before we leave and deco her capris to match. Now I just have to figure out how to make it bigger for dd9!!!

Maggi

What pattern did you use for this? I really like it!!!

Too funny!!!! This makes me think of my favoritest show ever- Freaks and Geeks. (not that your girls are freaks, or geeks for that matter)

We watched that show religiously, quiet upset when they took it off the air. We have it on DVD. My favorite episode was when the father's answer to his daughter was "you know what happened to him? He's DEAD" (Ok I'm sitting here laughing by myself...)

Okay. Much more calm now. Just RE-CUT my fabric, decided it needed lined so added that and am returning to the sewing table. :teacher: with better math-and decided it needed to ne 3x full (I'm never happy when I make it double) so was glad I had cut too big instead of too small.

Back to the drawing board!:hourglass

The police can only so much, sister.

I know, I actually have pretty decent taste in music except for Barry, I swear! My DH is just dreading going to the concert! It didn't make things any better when the operator who took our ticket order told him that he was glad there was another Fanilow in the world! I thought he was going to kill me!:rotfl2:

I am THE POTTY TRAINING QUEEN!! I have potty trained 4 kids, as soon as they turned 2 years old, in a matter of days- completely potty trained. I also had a hand in potty training many others at my mom's day care. This is what I did- NOTHING!! These kids decided they were going to use the potty and not pee their pants anymore, and they did. It was miraculous. I don't feel I had anything to do with it at all. I was nanny to the first 3 kids (1 girl and 2 boys, all different families) and the 4th was Tessa. So, all you have to do to potty train a kid, is find a kid that is ready to be potty trained and let 'em do it themselves! :rotfl2:

I think if I had waited for Grace (DD4) to decide she would still be wearing diapers!

I watched the Monkees when they were on the "first" time. Pre Nickelodeon. Now I'm showing my age. I have a friend that absolutely LOVES Davy and we've gone to see him in concert a million times. As Teen Idols ( Peter Noone does the best show), the Monkees and Davy Jones. Dawn is an autograph hound, and Davy can be downright rude to the fans. I've seen this many times. So is Mickey Dolenz. Peter Tork likes "younger" girls. Mike Nesmith refuses to tour with them. But then he inherited all sorts of money from his Mother, she invented White-Out when she was a secretary.

Off the Davy topic. I never heard of Kanye West until his mother passed away. All the kids around here know who is tho'. I just found out that I've worked with his Aunt for the last 3 years, and his cousin used to work for me for about 2 years. Who would have thought someone famous would have ties to little Ole Delaware?

I knew one of their mothers invented White-Out but I couldn't remember which one.

You didn't know who Kanye was? You don't know about Gold Digga? I love that song, cracks me up! Although I'm sure that isn't the intent of the song but still...........

Oh I forgot these:

All from The Lost Boys Movie.

Keifer Sutherland and all the others.

Does any one remember that movie??

Melanie

Lost Boys, I still have a real hard time with maggots from that scene in the movie where the rice from Chinese takeout is maggots. Yuck! Makes me sick thinking of it!

OK- it's a hijack of the original intent of the thread, but since everyone else is doing it, I'm gonna too!!! LOL

Just for you sahm1000- a pic I took from a recent concert I attended:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hello Ladies and Tom! Been away for a few days (well, just lurking here and there.) I'll have to play catch-up tonight.

Here is what I've been up to - I'll narrate as I post pics. . . Go ahead and get something to drink - this may be a wee bit long. .

First up is the Mickey head Christmas Vacation countdown. We had this little grouping of trees that didn't have any ornaments on it and I was racking my brain trying to think of something to do with those trees. So it hit me! We needed a vacation countdown. Went to the Home Depot to get those adorable little mickey head paint chips, one for every day until we leave. I cut the mickey heads out, punched a hole (sorry Mickey!) and strung the ribbon. So, every day we hang a Mickey on the trees and when the bag is empty, it's time to go to Disney!

th_mickeytree.jpg

Next is the crayon roll-ups. These were posted a long time ago and have been on my to-do list since then. They are just too cute! And they come together very quickly, which is always a bonus. I normally wouldn't have put rick rack on the one for DS, but he said he wanted it "because it looks like dinosaur spikes." Who can argue with that?

th_crayonrolls1.jpg

th_crayonrolls2.jpg

Ok, next are the I spy bags. Now after all the posts about these recently, I just HAD to make some. So, can y'all stop posting all these ridiculously cute things that I MUST make? :rotfl: Now, I must also tell you the best thing about these bags - I was remembering all these small toys I used to have as a kid that would have been perfect for these, and then I remembered that my mom used to have this huge jug of all these "junky" toys of mine - all the little toys and pieces of playsets that I had. So I called her up to see if maybe she still had it around. Sure enough - she did! So we went over and brought it home and dumped it out on the living room floor and the kids had an absolute blast going through all of my old toys! There was a TON of stuff perfect for I spy bags! I also went through my scrapbooking stash and found some fun stuff for them! These were WAY fun to make!

Still with me?
Here's an experimental shirt I made for DD with some thermal and some rib knit fabric. I had never worked with knits before, and I was dying to try one of those spiral hoodies I've seen on ebay. I searched and searched for the pattern for those hoodies (it's Farbenmix Jule but I could only find it in stock in a couple of stores - european, of course, and I'm too impatient to try and order from out of the country.) So, I played around with a couple of different patterns - Burda 9627 for the shirt and Burda 9676 for the hood, although it is just a plain hood - I added my own spiralie thingie. Anyhoo, I was thinking about doing something along these lines for that black and white Tinkerbell fabric. Thoughts?

th_snowmenback.jpg

Just one more to go!
I bought some Aristocat Marie fabric from you know where a long time ago and finally used it. DD's middle name is Marie, so a Marie outfit was a must, but fabric is sooooo hard to find! I was also making a twirl top to go with this as well, kind of like aimeeg's cinderella, only with Marie's face on the bodice. It looks good on paper and I've got the pieces cut out and mostly fused, but I just can't bring myself to actually applique it right now. I've got a few more things to sew for the trip, so if I get those finished and still have time, I may go ahead, but it's on the back burner for now.
th_marie1.jpg

th_marie2.jpg

Ok, I think that's it for now! Thanks if you stayed with me till the end of this monster post! Now I've got some catching up to do. . .

You've been a busy girl! Love the hoodie and I especially love the Marie applique. Fantastic!

O.k. I really liked everything that you posted! I just got some knit fabric and plan on doing something with it, but since I haven't used knit yet, I was askeered! But since now that I know that you have used it successfully, I might have to give it a try!

The Marie outfit is OUTSTANDING! Oh, about 3 months ago, I attempted a Marie applique, I think is was just like yours. I gave up and threw it in the trash. My applique looked like "Appli caw caw!" Yours looks amazing!

I have been skimming over all these guys photos, but I must admit I had crushes on ALL of the Charlie's Angels, Marie Osmond, Dolly Parton (I can't even believe that I owned up to that one!), and Kristie McNichol.
Oh, and I remember Square Pegs! It was like totally awesome! He, he!

Seriously, Dolly Parton:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I hope I can stop laughing eventually! Although I think she is such a nice person every time I see her interviewed.

Okay, and since now we are talking about movies, I loved every Brat Pack movie in the 80's but especially my all time favorite movie, Sixteen Candles. Love that movie! I even watched it while I was in labor with my DD4! It happened to be on at the time, I didn't bring it (but that is a good idea:) ). I watch it every chance I get and have it on DVD. It makes me laugh now to see Molly Ringwald as an adult when she is on things. She still looks the same to me! Just a little bit more mature.

Ah great! my nice multi quote disapeared! I hate when that happens!

Ok, lets' see, thank you for the Sodapop shower pictures! :thumbsup2 Much appreciated there!

Maggi, I love the peasant top!!! Your daughter is so adorable!!! I like the way the jeans look rolled up too!

Jham, Wendy, Misty, it sounds and looks like you were having so much fun!!! BUT!! I also spent the day with a Diser! So there!! The very famous Heathersue aka:hkite, invited me to an exclusive restaurant, MCDonald's! She even treated me to a coffee! OOOOHHH!!! So there! Now who's jealous????? :snooty:

Tifani, I'm glad to hear things are going better with the outfit!

Celery, that story had me crackying up! What is your partner's name? Tammy? Am I way off? Anyway, that was hilarious! I hope she is doing ok thogh.

Finally some friends to commiserate with...

Happy Thanksgiving Girls!!!

Well, the dress is finally starting to look like a dress but that's what I get for trying to franken pattern the double layer stripwork skirt w/ out the strips and put it on a bodice and USE BIAS TAPE FOR THE FIRST TIME (I made my mom do it on the pillow case dress;) ) of course I didn't catch the back of the bias tape in an obscene # of locations, I am going to iron it down w/ stitch withery tomorrow.
But I still have to add the ruffle to the second layer and attach the second layer AND make pants??? I may ditch the pants, we'll see what time I go to bed and how early I get up. I still need to make cranberry sauce before 11 tomorrow (we eat at my Grands at NOON- then again at the inlaws-4 blocks away- at 4:scared1: )

TJ- :headache: I hate it when I lose a multi quote.

ignore my typos it's late and my brain is fried:surfweb:

Well House was taped at 9 - so it was almost 10 - BUT technically it just felt really late, very hyper last night!!! I so hope he gets rid of "Cut Throat Witch" I don't like her at all, was surprised he fired who he did.

Here are pictures of DD's Thanksgiving outfit for tomorrow - was going to add a long sleeve top underneath, but it looks like it'll be about 80 for tomorrow so I won't need to.

After looking at this plus what I have posted in the past I need to branch out and work on another style - thought im getting the hang of the jumpers now!
Cuuuteee

I know I haven't been around in a while, but I wanted to share what I made this morning for my twins - Pink Floyd t-shirts. :lmao:
I think they're pretty cute. :cutie: :cutie: These are the things I come up with to do so I can avoid doing all the things I need to be doing. :rotfl:

how cute are those too and the pink floyd shirts are cool

Many thanks to Theresajoy and everyone for all their help and encouragement, I finished this just this morning. Dd5 (in all her drama glory) said she loves it and is wearing it now.
