Ok, I found these sneakers and I thought only you ladies (and man) would appreciate them. They remind me of the decoupaged jeans, but with ribbon. My husband says they are the ugliest things he has ever seen!
th_100_1974.jpg

I should take a picture of my feet too. I walked the dog in them yesterday and when I got home both heels were bleeding! I also have a blister on my big toe. But they are cute, aren't they?

Ok Mindy, my big project will be in the next post and it includes shirring! Get ready! :yay:

Amber would love those shoes! She might not be crazy about the blisters, but she'd think they are cute! I hope your feet feel better today!!!!!

Can't wait to see your shirring project!

Ok, here it is, the most favoritest thing I have ever made and it is for another kid! My neighbor has two little girls, two and six year old. I made the two year old a jumper top and am going to ribbonify some jeans for her and this is what I made for Megan's friend. It was a great learning experience so I don't mind spending so much time on it. And, she was admitted to the hospital last night with breathing problems so she has had a rough week. I need to finish the inside seams of the corset and add a ruffle to the peasant top but then I hope to take it to her tomorrow.

The peasant top is the Dainty Designs one and gave me a few fits. The corset was incredibly easy and shirring is fun! Thanks to Mindy for the encouragement and I hope the baby butt is better!

Thanks to everyone on this thread for being so encouraging and nice. You guys get me to try things I think are way too hard and complicated.

You did a great job! That peasant top pattern is terrible, but it turned out really good, next time it will be easier. :)

:thumbsup2
Too many fabulous customs to list in the past few days! Great job DISers, as usual!!! With a little encouragement, I'm braving out & posting my 1st attempts at Mickey appliques. Just mailed these off to my niece & can't wait for her to where them to Disneyland! They're not perfect but my 1st "practice" at this....

Well, I'm off to pick my son up from his preschool Thanksgiving Feast! Have a great day!:grouphug:

FANTASTIC JOB! These look great!:thumbsup2

Josephine wore this to school yesterday. it has nursery rhymes all over it. I made capri length cut on the bottoms and I think they may be a tad toooo small.
IMG_3544.jpg

Soo cute as usual!

I made a really easy back back style bag that was made with fat quarters. Let me know if you want the pattern number. The kids and I had fun picking out the fat quarters, but you could use scraps. I also appliqued a letter on it to personalize it.

That bag is GREAT! I need to make one of those! And great shoes! I am a shoeaholic, i have so many pair, I can't get enough!

OMG! This is FABULOUS!!!!! :cheer2: I knew you could do it! :cheer2: It is just amazing and your daughter looks so cute in it! I guess you will have to make another one! Okay I must get the pattern for the corset top and give it a try! Is it the pattern from ycmt? i really really like this! And yes, baby is feeling much better today!

I just wanted to let eveyone know that I added an Eye Spy Bag pattern (directions) to the bookmarks along with links to the YCMT Twirls for Girls Charity patterns.

The Eye Spy Bag looks pretty neat. Has anyone tried one of these before? I'm thinking it might be a good thing for our religious meetings to help Lydia hold still in her noisy dress!

The eye spy bag is under toys, the YCMT patterns are under Charity and Dolls.

I made the girls I Spy Bags for our trip to Orlando 'cause we have to drive & they NEED something to do! They came out pretty cute, but I'll have to wait to post pics after we get back.

what is everyone woking on today?

Let's see...finishing the packing, the laundry, the dishes, picking up the house (I HATE coming home from a trip to a messy house. Makes me feel stressed out about how much I have to do.), cooking breakfasts for the trip...I'm sure I've forgotten something.

I just have to keep telling myself it's all worth it because...
I going to Disney, I going to Disney, I going to Disney.   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :dance3:

:rotfl2: Only an hour away...man you guys really are lucky!!! Colorado is a beautiful state but there's nothing like being close to the ones you love! I wish we were headed there for Thanksgiving but this year we are spending it with my DH's family in Arizona! However, he waited forever to get the tickets and now we fly out at 12:45pm on Thanksgiving DAY and by the time we get to his parents house it will be after 6pm....BUT they are all eating Thanksgiving dinner at 1pm!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 So I hope there are some leftovers...not my favorite way to spend Thanksgiving Day!!! Oh well. Hahahaha

I agree about being close to family. We used to live on the MS Gulf Coast & we loved it, but it was a 9 hour drive to family & esp. with little kids that's just too far.

Hi all! Favor time -- could you please keep the talking about folk's items for sale on the auction site way, way down. It's okay to have your ebay id in your signature so if the seller wants to do that it's fine. You can discuss this stuff in private messages though.

Thank you kindly.

I just tried shirring too last week, thanks to everyone here. Loved it! Maybe I'll have to try a corset, just for all the shirring!:rotfl:

I LOVE the "pose"! Your DD is tooo cute!

See shirring can be fun!

We're going to Arizona (Wellton, which is near Yuma) to do Christmas with DH's family. But, we're having an early Christmas (we'll be there from Dec. 8-15). I am NOT looking forward to the flight!! I don't mind flying, but we've never flown with 2 little kids. I remember how hard it was when Tessa was Sawyer's age. :sad2:

Oh that is a sweet deal...two Christmas for you guys!!! Aww, I hope you have a nice flight. I am pretty lucky in that department because my DD has always been so very good on all the flights she has been on. Just make sure you take lots of goodies for them to play with and snacks to eat. My little one loves to draw so coloring books always work for her.

So do you think the flight would be easier to deal with if the plane were heading to WDW instead of Arizona????:goodvibes

I would like to make DD a pair of Grinch Decoupage jeans. Does anyone have a scrap or two (of Grinch fabric) they would be willing to part with? I can't find any fabric, and I really would only need a few good scrap squares? Anyone?

I could NOT find any Grinch fabric either. Wish I could have because these appliques are not that easy! Hahaha

Hey, Mousetriper changed her siggy pic! I like it!! Very cute!

Thank you so much Heather!!!! :cloud9:

Hmm..is it weird to wear snowman when you live in Houston, where it doen't even snow? LOL

Aww this is a great shirt, I love the snowman! I say snowmen are PERFECT regardless of where you live! :thumbsup2

OMG this is so DARLING....I really love how this turned out. I wish I had made DD a Thanksgiving outfit like this but I went from Halloween right to Christmas. What was I thinking? Your outfit is so perfect. Okay, I may have missed all the talk about shirring but do you think a novice like me can do something like that??? Is there a link or "how-to" posted somewhere?

I agree about being close to family. We used to live on the MS Gulf Coast & we loved it, but it was a 9 hour drive to family & esp. with little kids that's just too far.
.

Yeah distance may make the heart grow fonder but it still stinks being so far away!!! My little one is not too keen on road trips either so I know what you mean!!!

I have a question about patterns...normally a pattern is for multiple size, and since my dd wears a size 5 right now...is there a way to not cut the pattern so I can still use it for the bigger sizes?

I went to Joann's today and they had alot more Disny fabric than normal. I didn't see any "new" fabrics, just more than they usually carry.

You can trace off the size you need onto tissue paper, or if it's something you think you'll be using several times you can trace it onto stuff called Pattern Ease. It's like interfacing without the iron on stuff, and it's sold at fabric stores (not sure about walmart) with all the other interfacing. I use this for most of my projects, you just have to be sure to get all the marks you'll need for matching pieces.

I went to Joanns this morning but didn't even have a chance to really look around. My kiddos weren't cooperating!! I will have to go back another day and hopefully they will still have some left.

Oh..why didn't I even think about tissue paper. I got some sitting in my drawer although I may need bigger pieces! I will have to look for pattern ease the next time I go to the store! Thanks!

I don't know how I missed these!!! How cute! If that is the first bow you've ever made, don't give up so easily! I can tell you where your problem is, it's that silky type ribbon! Working with grosgrain ribbon is soooooooo much easier. That bow looks cute, so don't be afraid to try again, you did a great job!

I lay the pattern on my fabric, then use tracing paper & a tracing wheel to trace my lines for the desired size. You can use tape to reinforce that area so it doesn't wear out. I learned this little trick from experience!
