Ok, more picture from me!! These are from Halloween night with their costumes.

Nana made the Mulan dress for Emily (before broken arm). And, I spent ALL night Halloween eve making Madison's witch costume!! Nana hasn't even seen pictures of the all-night witch costume yet!!!

Wow, great outfits! My daughter loves the Pooh one and I think the Minnie one is just darling!

So I'm getting ready to get started on Thanksgiving outfits for my girls. I washed and dryed all of the fabric and I'm in the middle of ironing it. Am I the only one who does this? I swear half the time of making an outfit is the prep!

Ummm, I never remember to wash the fabric first. I am sure one day it will come back to bite me in the butt. :scared1: I need to take LisaZoe's advice and wash as soon as I get it home!

I would guess that they would only work with a rotary cutter. If you tried to use scissors the pattern would move. Right? or am I totally missing something?

Cindee

Hey Cindee, my daughter wanted me to tell you she thinks Morgan is beautiful and looks like Pocahantas in her poncho. Luckily she didn't demand that I make one for her (whew!)...

Wow, my daughter and I are just oohing and aahing over every outfit. I love the family picture where everyone matches! Thank you so much for posting!

Cute: I love the Mulan and that witch looks like it would be really hard to make!

I know! By the time you wash and dry and iron, I am over it! When I get ready to sew something I want to just be able to do it! This is why I've started washing my fabric when I buy it. That way when inspiration hits I can just go!

That's what I do, wash it as soon as I get it home. I used to serge the raw edges first so it wouldn't fray in the wash, but not anymore. I love ironing fabric, it's the finished clothes I hate to iron. Someone on here suggested a long time ago using Magic Sizing and that's all I use now and LOVE it!

Thanks! I had to do SOMETHING with some of the over four thousand pictures I have sitting on my computer's hard drive!

I've been putting mine on cd's, and I have a few!!

April, those are all darling!!!!!!! I love these poses! Amazing job on their outfits, you must post more!

Super cute! I've been wanting to tackle a Mulan outfit, but it's on my list! Good job on that witch, she looks beutiful!

O......M......G.....You are simply awesome. For someone that put their machine BACK in the box, you came out swingin'! You have made trip photos that would have been cute ('cuz ya got those cutie patooties!) to photos that are spectacular and something you'll always remember. IN-credible.

Cute, cute, cute. I wish I had a Nana too...sniff. Mine are all gone. One was awesome, one was just purely insane, but that's another story. The one that was awesome would have loved to have met my girls and love on them. You are a lucky girl.:goodvibes

I'm another lurker coming out of hiding! After seeing all the amazing creations, I had my mil teach me how to sew. First we made a bumper pad and quilt for dd's room. Then we made this outfit
Picture253.jpg
(hopefully I put that in right!) The smocking was so much easier than I thought it would be. Here's a close up of the smocking
Picture283.jpg
it's really not as dirty as it shows up in the picture! Unfortunately I picked a pattern that was the hardest my mil has seen in her 50+ years of sewing :scared1: She ended up sewing a lot of it!

Then I made this outfit
Picture266.jpg
which was so much easier. It doesn't show in the pictures, but my mil appliqued the characters to the legs of the pants. That encouraged me to move on to my next pattern, not containing the word easy in the title. I'm not sure that project will ever get finished :rolleyes1

Heading back to the beginner projects I made:

The T is for me. I'm hoping to make her a jojo set and my boys (9 and 6) camp shirts (the non-easy project I started awhile ago) and iron on star wars shirts before we leave in 1 month.

Thank you all for the inspiration! Without running into this thread and seeing all the amazing things that could be made I doubt I ever would have started sewing.

WOW! Did you smock that all by hand or use a pleater?? I am impressed. I have been sewing for years now, and am still intimidated by smocking. Maybe I should pull my pleater out of the box? Hmmm...nah.

I love the little pooh outfit. It's so sunny and happy!

I love other people's projects, too!! Thanks for stopping in from one lurker to another!

FABULOUS!

Where did you get the little einsteins applique on the girls' tee shirts?? I love those outfits!

I agree with everyone else about the family photo in front of the castle. Fabulous. You couldn't PAY my dh to wer anything matching like that. You're so lucky everyone went along with it. You got a great picture!

I love the pics of the girls with minnie, too. SOOO adorable. They look so happy! I love it.

Luckily my mil has a pleater (she has everything)! Then the design of course was put on by hand. I think the pleating part was harder than the smocking. There are people that sell pleated inserts.

Ya'll are so sweet. Thanks everyone for the nice comments!!!

Thanks! It wasn't easy to get the guys to go along. We just didn't tell them until we got there.

April, those are all darling!!!!!!! I love these poses! Amazing job on their outfits, you must post more!

Thanks so much? Yeah she is into trying all new poses for every picture. Some of the photopass pictures were some interesting poses.

WOW! FANTASTIC! What a beautiful family!

Thank you! It was great to go with the whole family. It was our first big vacation all together like this.

You are so sweet. I will go now to see how to enter the photo of the day. Thanks for the info.

I love the way the matching outfits make the pictures look. I think you are right it definately makes the pictures that much more special. I would have never thought of making coordinating outfits for each park if it wouldn't have been for all the great posters on this thread.

Thanks! Just bring something matching and don't tell him until it's time to get dressed. It worked for me!

The little einstein shirt is an iron on from the disigns board. They have some great stuff. I made some other iron on tees from there for the adults that came out very cute!

Okay, we are going on our WDW trip Dec. 9 - 15. Anyone going to be there when we are?

If you are what, will ya'll be making for customs?

We are going to two MVMCP's so I was thinking two christmas twirl skirts with t-shirts with a Mickey head on one with a santa hat, and the other a Minnie head with a bow and holly in the bow. I figured I could put a long sleeved t-shirt under it with leggings under the skirt if it was cold.

Then I'd thought about making decoupage blue jeans with matching Mickey head t-shirts for a couple of the other days...but I don't know about the weather. We normally go right after Thanksgiving, and it's a crap shoot then...last year it was so hot I was cutting off the girls pants to make capris!

I'd love to make some dress of some sort, but I'm not sure if it'll be warm enough!

Maggi

We'll be there Dec. 11-17 at the Poly. My kids will be wearing customs everyday (and me too, for a couple). They have a couple of different Mickey head tees, one with Santa hat on, one safari, and a Bling one. Princess toile dresses for breakfast in the Castle, and a HMS outfit for MGM. My son will be wearing mostly just different Mickey head Tees, didn't get very creative with him.

We went the first week of Dec. last year and in was in the 80s but I don't know if we'll get that lucky again. Like you said, I'll just throw long sleeves under the tees, leggings under dresses and skirts and then probably bring both shorts and long pants for the other days.

Say Hi if you see us.
Amy

How sweet of you to ask about her! I know she allready posted, but she isn't doing well. My poor little sister.

I was just starting to miss the both of you on here going back and forth it makes me laugh. I found a nice supportive friendly group of people that I enjoy talking with even though I might not ever meet anyone from here I still consider everyone a friend. So when i noticed she haden't been on much I thought i would ask if she was ok.:grouphug: to all.

Now I am on this early this morning to ask for help before I chuck my sewing machine out the window. (Remember I am upstairs here.) :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I don't know what i am doing wrong but I can't seem to attach my ruffle trim to the bottom of my overalls. I tried and tried and I got feed up threw the seam ripper and went to bed. Any help will be so apericiated.:worship:
