I also had a friend make this sling for my 2 year old for when we are waiting in lines. (I also have a Ellaroo Hip Sling)

(This is my almost 5 year old modeling b/c my 2 year old was asleep):rotfl:

WHAT???? You are making us wait???? NO FAIR!!! I can't wait to see it!!

I'm so mean!! The outfit is finished!! No pictures though - camera's charging. It turned out so cute. I even mamaged to "whip up" a peasant top while the fray check was drying on the jeans. The peasant top still needs to be ruffled or hemmed - need to try it on DD first. I'm so excited! It turned out better than I had hoped!! I'll post tomorrow morning!! Goodnight all!

So excited that I saw this thread!!! I have 2 little boys (2 & 5) and we are going to WDW in March 2008. I have been collecting things and ideas of clothing to take for them. (I am bad about dressing them alike all the time).

My aunt handpaints clothing so I was able to get a lot of ideas from this thread! I am super excited now!!!

I spent over an hour today going through this thread and still didn't get to all of the pages!! LOL!:rotfl: Guess what I'll be doing tonight?? My DH thinks I am nuts!!

:welcome: Glad to have you here!!! You mean you couldn't catch up on over 1000 pages in an hour?? tsk tsk
;)
Here is the overall I had made for his 2nd birthday and for Sesame street live. He loves them!! I can't wait to see the ones my aunt makes him with the Fab 5 on them!!

Oh and his hat she made was precious too!!
DSC_0147.jpg

Awwww, your son is DARLING!!!!!!! The overalls are really cute too! Your aunt does nice work!

Ok I typed this reply earlier and even submitted it - must be lost out there somewhere....

Castle, Tom and everyone else - the newest creations are AMAZING - I haven't been able to post as much as I would like to now that I am FINALLY back to working full time everyday!!! :) No more temp stuff :cool1:

Castle - my daughter thinks she needs a dress like Ireland's Belle dress... I don't think I can make that YET!!!! But I guess I am going to have to practice:rotfl:

I have to share this with you all - when I shared with Dh he just smiled and said yes dear like I belonged in a mental hospital or something for being soooooo excited. I got everything in the picture below for $29.06, we have a Joann's store thats closing here in Orlando and even though the fabric isn't worth it for me (only 40% off and there's a two yard minimum cut - unless you buy what's left on the bolt then it's 50% off) th buttons, trims and patterns were a STEAL!!! I think it came out to be 15 patterns 29 packages of rick rac and bias tape and then some buttons too....

2150016003_e83dce43bd.jpg

Don't you hate those lost posts?? What I hate even more is the post you don't see, even after refreshing the page numerous times, then you resubmit it, only to have posted the same thing like three times! I hate that.

But you know what I do love???? A good deal!!!! WOO HOOO!!!! Looks like you had fun shopping!
Krispy,

Me TOOOOO I could have been there too (I drive faster than Castle) LOL (Ok I also live closer:rotfl: ). Which store is closing in Orlando?

Castle-road trip? LOL

Cindee

You guys really gotta stop rubbing it in how close to each other AND Disney (and Sea World) you all are! :)

Ok, there is something else I HATE.... GOAT CHEESE!!! YUCK!!! Lydia loves it, and has been trying to get me to try it again all day. Well, I just got her some on crackers, and accidentally licked my finger. EEEWWWW (sorry goat cheese lovers out there!) I actually had to run to the bathroom and was sick!!!
7.gif
(sorry TMI I know). She is sitting right next to me eating them, and the smell is really getting to me! (from the cheese, not Lydia)

randomnov2007017.jpg

Hey, that's great! I wish I had thought to make a sling out of Disney fabric when Lydia was little! My wrap thing was just some orangey fabric. And, Yeah to you for posting a picture of yourself allready! Woo hoo! Your son is a cutie!!! When does he turn 5? Lydia turned 5 about a week ago, on the 19th.

I'm so mean!! The outfit is finished!! No pictures though - camera's charging. It turned out so cute. I even mamaged to "whip up" a peasant top while the fray check was drying on the jeans. You ARE mean!!! I am really excited to see it!

Anyway, here are a few pictures of some of the customs that Nana made for the girls.

th_MickeyAK.jpg

At the Animal Kingdom Lodge where we stayed.

th_MickeyAKDaisy.jpg

Same dresses - but Daisy was quite impressed with the girls dresses, and even had them each do a spin, and she instructed them to hold their dresses out for this pic.

th_Sandmen.jpg

The girls finishing their bead strings at AKL. You can't tell in the picture very well, but that fabric is "sandmen" on the beach, instead of snowmen. Nana thought that it was quite appropriate, since we live in FL.
cute outfits and cute girls i love the idea of sandmen instead of snowman

Once home, Emily put out the food for the reindeer. She insisted that it needed to go on a plate!

Here's the loot!!

The kids stockings...
th_IMG_2811.jpg

Matthew was the first one up and out of bed. He spotted Mickey in his stocking. (Both kids had really cute jammies from Gymboree but Em didn't want to wear them!)

She loved the nightgown so much that she wanted to wear it all day. And she's pretty much worn it every night since.

th_IMG_2832.jpg

We went to my sister in laws that night, but I never got my camera out. There were enough people taking pictures though that I won't go without! LOL!

Thanks for looking! Now I need to go work on Cinderella.
what a bunch of cuties . i love emily hugging her Hannah Montanna outfit:thumbsup2

How adorable

The bodice is a gorgeous gold brocade. I fell in love with it and had to have it. The skirt is made of two layers. One is a heavy maroon satin, that is lined in black. It's to die for...too bad you can't really see it. The top layer is a sheer maroon that had gold and maroon roping sewn into it. I had to have that as well. It all came to about 60 dollars. All of the material was 19.99 a yard, because it was decorator fabric, but I used coupons, and got some on sale. Ireland is really pleased with it and hopefully it won't be too warm for her. If it's hot that day, we will go to MK in the evening when they have extra magic hours at night.
Did I mention that it's really hard to yell at the kids when you've lost your voice?
Beautiful as always that is just awesome i can't wait till 2010 that is when we will be going to disneyworld and we will be staying at the nick hotel just for spongebob :lovestruc :lovestruc

congrats !!

OMG!!!! HOW STINKIN CUTE....

that is adorable i love the cookie monster i had to look twice because i thought i was seeing things

wow you scored:thumbsup2

what a cute idea ... and welcome:hug:

I love how you just whip things up:) It takes me forever to make things. I also suffer with perfectionist tendencies!

Can you tell me know you attached the tees to the skirt? I have a horrible time with mine stretching. I used a stretch stitch and a walking foot the last time and it was better, but I still had to add a sash to cover all of my inaccuracies. Have I mentioned that I hate turning fabric??? Any helpful pointers would be great. I have seriously thought about buying the YCMT pattern, but I know I can learn it with out spending the money. I am also cheap:)
I gathered the skirt and then attached it to the tee with my serger. Usually I run a row of straight stitching on the tee first to "stabilize" it, but I was in a hurry and just attached with the serger.
Wow I love those nightgowns TOM! Great job what did you use to make the letters nice and straight? I am making one for DD and DS and my nephew. I especially need a letter "P" I was going to print some letters out but Microsoft Word for Macs won't make the letters big enough.

OOOOhhhh Puppies :surfweb: they are adorable.:cloud9:
I love Gracie's petticoat and santa shirt. You get a lot of wear out of that Petticoat.
I have a photo editing program that I can make almost any letter bold and at any size. The font that I used was "Boulder". HTH

If you need them bigger PM me your e-mail addy and I can e-mail the file to you!
P.gif

I love the Golden puppies. We have had our Golden "Sophie" for about 7 years now. Such a sweet dog! Never growled once at Leigh, even when she used to pull her self up on her by her tail!
You can see her on the sofa here in this picture!

Ok, I have no blasted idea how to multiquote...

Heathersue: Tell Tessa we are sending "puppy breath" her way.

UtahMama: I agree Goldens are awesome, not that I am biased or anything:rolleyes1 . So far mine are useless as watchdogs. If someone were to break into my home they would be thrilled and falling over themselves to bring the intruder a selection of stuffed toys and tennis balls :rotfl2: I feed mine Exceed Performance (chicken based), Vitamin c, Triple Flex, wild salmon oil and biotin, spray down daily with a diluted conditioner solution and bathe, blow dry and trim weekly to keep coats in good shape.

Twob4Him and UtahMama: Babies are color coded so I can be certain that all are gaining weight at the same rate. Also, so I can take notes on the development of their personalities and temperament as they grow and match the puppies I don't keep with the right family and lifestyle for that puppy's personality and temperament :thumbsup2

I have a question about this if anyone can help. When you wear it, is it hard on your neck or back? My 4 year old still likes to be carried at times (especially when she's tired). I think this would be great, but i'm not sure if it would hurt my neck and/or back. It seems it doesn't take much for my back to start hurting.

Well, here it is!! I just noticed that the ribbons on the jeans aren't even!! Other that that, I happy with it!! It's not crooked, it's just hanging funny! LOL! We're off to get Emilys hair cut then to lunch with daddy and grandma, I'll try to get pictures with her in it later!!

I used the pillowcase from Walmart for Cinderella.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I've been trying to post for an hour and the page wouldn't load. Anyway, I need your help. I am looking at these shirts on disneyshopping.com. But, they don't tell you if they are junior's sizes or women's sizes. It seems I always guess wrong. Last time I got an XL that was huge and an XL that was tiny. So, I was wondering if anyone knows how these specific shirts run.

It's not bad... easier than acetate and other satins:) It's just a nice thick satin.
I'm going to look for it on my next shopping trip! I have a Cinderella dress idea up my sleeve for the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique.

Much better! And, just for breaking the rules, I think you owe Heather and I a box of Girl Scout Cookies! ;)

My poor baby kitty.

Hmmm, what does that make me???
I 2nd that! Seeing as how she knew better and all!

MWUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Incredibly obnoxiously talkative!! :rotfl2: No, actually you're very helpful. I just like to keep things OT around here. ;)

So excited that I saw this thread!!! I have 2 little boys (2 & 5) and we are going to WDW in March 2008. I have been collecting things and ideas of clothing to take for them. (I am bad about dressing them alike all the time).

:woohoo: We love having new people around here!!! :welcome:
Your DS is absolutely adorable!!! Tessa is going to be 5 on March 19, so she's pretty close in age to your older DS. I keep thinking about her going off to kintergarden and I don't think I'm going to take it very well.

WOW!!! What a great deal! At least we can appreciate it with you!

You know it's time to go to bed when your eyes start crossing and you see little boys wearing girl's clothes. Oh wait, that's just me & 2cutekidz humiliating our poor sons again! :rotfl2:

Yet another cutie!! Your son's awful cute, too! I really like this idea. Sawyer will be almost 2 when we go in May and I should make a "manly" one of these for Henry to carry him around in!

http://bestsmileys.com/sick/7.gif[/img](sorry TMI I know). She is sitting right next to me eating them, and the smell is really getting to me! (from the cheese, not Lydia)
Darn it, I guess I'll have to eat that goat cheese cake I made for you all by myself.

Ok, I have no blasted idea how to multiquote...

Now you have me thinking I need a golden retriever!! But, my husband would NOT be happy about the shedding. I would really like a 2nd dog, but I'm just not sure. To multiquote, you just click on the little + sign at the bottom of each post that you want to quote. Then, when you're ready to multi-quote, you just hit "reply". All the multiquotes should be there for you to comment on.

I LOVE IT!!! Great job on doing the features by hand!!!

P.S. Did you all notice my new siggy pic?

WOW!! This is gorgeous.

Love the sandmen & the Daisy pic.

I think dh and I will "go out" this weekend- I want to see a movie.popcorn:: Any suggestions?? I think the last movie I saw in the theater was spiderman 3!!!

I'm jealous. I think the last movie I saw in the theater was The Holiday & that was last New Year's.

Just beautiful! That fabric looks so hard to work with. I tend to shy away from fabrics like that, they intimidate me. Great job!

Those are very cute nightgowns!

I used a sling with my youngest, but she's around 20 lbs now & I can't carry her for long in a sling because it hurts my shoulder. I don't think I cuold stand to carry my 4 yr old. Most slings like that are only supposed to hold kids up to about 35 lbs. There are other types of carriers that might work though. I'll have to look for some links.

Very cute!

They actually go more on your shoulder. This was just a quickie picture of my older son modeling it. I keep the wide part over my shoulder and the weight is pretty evenly distributed.

I found that I like my slings better than the Baby Bjorn. It would put too much stress on my back and neck (I have big babies though). THe sling is just more comfy.

The Babyhawk Mei Tai sling is awesome too. I plan on getting one of those for baby #3!!
