Hello, I have been lurking on this thread for a while, trying to read all the posts! LOL! You guys are so creative! I do some sewing, and I may try my hand at some of these. One question, though. Where do you get the pattern for the mickey head that you appique on the shirts? Do you just make it?

Oh, and do you use the bonding tape to hold the ribbons on the shirts? I am anxious to start a project, now! LOL, It looks so fun, and my daughters love to twirl in a skirt, so I guess I am going to try one of those!!!

I love, love, love your designs!!!!

Some people use mickey shaped things they have around but there is a template you can use.

Loved seeing all the beautiful pics of your DGD at WDW in her customs. I just noticed in this one your DS or DSil is wearing a KU hat - GO Jayhawks. Did he go to KU or live in KS now? My Dh and I were just trying to figure out last night which KU bball games we were going to try and go to, we split season tickets with 3 other couples.

DSIL and his family are from Kansas. They moved to Hershey PA when DSIL was a teenager, so no he didn't go to KU, but would have if they would have stayed. They are HUGE KU fans...in fact, my DD was after him in WDW to get a new hat...that one is so old and stained..but nope, no KU hat in DTD..everything BUT KU. I graduated from Penn State (surprise, surprise) and other DD and SIL from Temple University. Makayla has a PSU cheerleader outfit and a Temple sweatshirt...but she isn't permitted to wear them in DSIL's presence! They are from Huchison (sp) well, that's the phonetic spelling of what I hear them saying.

BTW, glad they moved to PA or I wouldn't have my DGD and of course her daddy!

100 pages...

That's how far behind I was. I'm caught up now, and though it was fun reading, it got too confusing to try and respond to everything I liked! I was about 3 weeks behind, and it felt weird to comment knowing it was so far out of date.

Good job on all the new items posted, they all look great!

I like to look @ Voldemort too, but can never find any of you listed when I do a search for you sellers name...I know you can post links to specific auction, but if someone could tell me how to work it, I'd sure appreciate it. PM is fine. :)

Custom dressed kids do get lots more attention at WDW! CM's and strangers alike always talk to DD2 when she's dressed up, and she loves it!

Hi All,
I finally finished my Old MacDonald outfit.
There are panels all the way around with different animals, a chicken, a pig, and sheep, and the tractor.

Sorry about the photos. I'm definately not a photographer...;)

I just noticed...the first picture actually makes my yard look good....LOL... We don't have sod, I'm waiting for a new sprinkler system first, and on 2 acres, it will be a pretty penny. So in the meantime, I spend my free time mowing weeds...hey at least they are green weeds....LOL

All you talented ladies have really inspired me to try some sewing. I am working on a simple dress right now for my dd....any ideas what are some easy thing to try and make for a beginner. My dd is 4 and ds is 2..and they will be almost 5 and 3 for our next trip to Disney adn I would love to make them some customs for the trip.

What about red and white dot pants/capris, and matching tees? This would be an easy project for a beginner.

]Yes, you are exactly right on the measurements!

I *might* be selling some of her customs from our trip. I just have to uncover them from the pile of vacation clothes, and get them cleaned and pressed for their "new" owner.;)

thanks tom! my dd3 (almost 4) is so girly- wants to wear a skirt EVERYDAY! and she always comments on leighanna's outfits- and her hair!:rotfl: she always says "i want one (outfit) like hers and long rapunzel hair liker her too!:rotfl: i told her id work on the outfit thing (so pm me if and when youre ready to list/sell) and i told her that we would just have to be patient on her hair getting long. poor thing- she didnt have much more than fuzz until she turned 18months, and then it was a mullet for a while!!:rotfl2: now we have 2 piggies worth!

Hope everyone has a great Columbus day. My kids are actually in school. KS is a little backwards you know.

My DD went to school today but has Friday off. I don't understand but oh well...

Is anyone else a little freaked out by these?

I think my girls would love them, but this picture is a little freaky, with the blank eyes and half a face!!!

Yes, on their own those are freaky. I bet they'd be cute when worn, though.

How cute! I so understand what you mean about photography. I'm so frustrated with mine but just don't have time to do a lot of experimenting. When DD is coorperative, I just want to get the photos DONE before her mood changes! LOL

Umama and Tom - it looks like you both had a great time on your WDW vacation. I would love to go in Oct. for Halloween but I don't think we could handle the rain, my kids HATE getting wet (except in the pool). Your DDs look adorable and I can't wait to read your trip report Umama.

Here are my latest creations. I LOVED the carriage bling that someone did, I can't remember who, but I think it is perfect for this dress. So Thank you, thank you for your creative genius with the Bling carriage.

I absolutely love this dress and the colors. Purple is my favorite color but DD2 loves pink. I might have to just have to bribe her to wear a dress like this.

Susan, I just never get tired of seeing that child! Sorry, you're sick! Looks like TONS of GermX are going on the packing list right now!!!

This is what I worked on all yesterday - 2 patchwork twirl skirts, why do I put myself through the torture of these things.

I have had that Princess toile for a very long time but haven't seen anything I wanted to make until now!!!!!!!!! If you don't mind, I would love to CASE that!

Love the patchwork skirts, and you put yourself through that because they are so dang cute!!!!

You did a great job!! I am making three or four myself with NO ruffler foot so it takes me about 1/2 hour just to do one ruffle

I don't have a ruffler foot either, so I know what you mean! I love the ruffles though, and can't seem to help myself!

WOW That is adorable! I want another little girl to dress up. My daughter is 10 and wouldn't allow too many of these. Oh that and I can't sew. I have a machine but I can't change the thread- So I can make some holiday stuff as it the red from her ladybug costume that is in there (from when she was 4)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That was me back in June!!!

Oh, and do you use the bonding tape to hold the ribbons on the shirts? I am anxious to start a project, now! LOL, It looks so fun, and my daughters love to twirl in a skirt, so I guess I am going to try one of those!!!

Most of us use Heat'n'Bond Lite to hold them in place until we stitch them down. Just don't use the Ultra!

Pillowcase dresses are SUPER simple and so are twirl skirts. You can find simple instructions on the first page of this thread in Teresa's bookmarks.

Love the outfit and your yard looks great! At least now you know where to have them stand for pics to make your yard look good! I use the back yard!!!!

Oh LISA!!!! First the great Epcot inspired skirt and shirt, and now this???? OH I hope you want it to find another home:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Your yard looks great and is a perfect backdrop for the E I E I O outfit!!! Any COWS on there?? Or even better a HORSE??? We want more pictures silly!! Model or not!!

How in the world are you doing these brand new outfits and studying? Hope you are taking care of yourself too!!:grouphug:

Well, I finally took the plunge and used some of the animal prints I bought for an AK set... which is becoming 2 sets that can mix and match. I usually don't give in the urge to add more pieces but in this case I decided to go for it. I'm happy with the jeans and tee but not sure about the skirt or what kind of top to make to go with it. I think the skirt needs more Minnie dot on it as well as some of the squares with animals so I may add the squares alternating with Mickey/Minnie silhouettes of the dot near the ruffle.

Any suggestions?

I think I like it the way it is. More than likely it would be worn with the t-shirt untucked and I think that would leave just enough of the animal print showing! Good job!:thumbsup2 I sometimes get ideas of extra pieces, but I have a hard enough time getting the bare minimum finished up so I don't usually do the extras.

I found a really cool Mickey Head sheer fabric today!

Mickeyheadsheer.jpg

I found one lone yard of it at Joanns. I think it would be awesome for an overskirt. Time to get to work.

:rotfl: Thank you for answering my questions!!! You all are great! I am anxious to go shopping now for fabric. haha! I am looking through the posts, and my daughter is saying, "I want that one, and that one, and oh mommy, that one, and.........." :rotfl:

Well, maybe a skirt for now and a t-shirt! haha. Wish me luck!
