Here's a little something I just whipped up completely stress-free. In fact, I didn't even use a pattern  One of those cinchy 1 hour jobs. No seam ripper, either.

You cant see the shoulder straps, but there's little garter-belt looking roses :cutie:

And, it is not hemmed. I can't figure out how to hem a CIRCLE! Is that what the horse-hair braid is for?

It turned out gorgeous! I'm just glad my DD is into Cinderella and not Aurora. Hopefully the Cinderella dress is easier! Love the sleeves.

Here is my first attempt at sewing in 8 years (don't look too close) non-Disney though. I'm practicing re-sizing photos now.

I love that. I'm a sucker for toile, but that is just soooo cute.

I HATE hemming circles, but I'll tell you what I do. Usually, I iron in the hem & turn it under & iron again before I start to sew it, but on a circle I can't seem to make that work. It just makes a mess for me. So instead, I iron in the regular hem & then as I sew I turn it under. It's still never completely smooth, but I think that's because I'm just not patient enough to go that slow.
Another option is to use bias tape. You fold out one edge of the bias tape * sew it to the RIGHT side of the skirt in the crease from the fold. Then you turn the bias tape to the wrong side & sew it down.

Does anyone here go to DL too or just DW??? Hoping to see some customs this xmas!!!

Lori

I was in DL in June and I don't think that I saw one custom the entire time I was there! I was looking too.

Utahmama-

Aurora is beautiful. I am going to be doing that same pattern. I have one more big project to finish then she next. Have you deceided when Nora is wearing what?

Here is what I finished today.

nbc001.jpg

I have to sew some ric rack onto the Mickey Winter outfit and then I start on a couple big costume projects.

My jogging shorts were pink and white satin (or something shiney and satin-like). Not that it's very important. I wouldn't be caught dead in jogging shorts after birthing 4 kids and gaining a kazillion pounds since I was 17.

That is SO cute! Good Job :cutie: I love pink and brown together! I did a pirate princess print in that pattern. I like that pattern.
I've got a question for you all (I'm not southern. So, I can't in good conscience write y'all).

I HATE my username. I really hate it!! I mean, how exactly do you pronounce hkite? It sounds like you're trying to hack up a lugey, right? I really want it to be Heathersue. But, I don't want to lose my "status" of nearly 200 posts! Is there any way to change my username? Anyone know? Please, please, help me! I don't want to be the coughing up phlegm girl anymore!

BTW, my sister is a big fraud. That's right, a FRAUD! Her name is NOT Teresa Joy. It is Teresa Joyce! Perhaps she wanted to come across as being more joyful than she really is?? That's right, Teresajoyce, I finally called you out. :wave2:
A user name is like a tattoo. You are stuck. I suggest you change it and rack up the posts again! I have another username (my secret identity) and I racked up the posts to 600 by going on the game threads. Be careful, they're addictive!

I see you TeresaJoyCE :upsidedow Ya big poser!

OHHHH, Disneyland is GORGEOUS at Christmas!!!! I have Annual Passes that expire in Feb '08, so if we are good money-wise, we really want to go for a weekend.
Okay, thanks for the help teresajoy, I will now attempt to post my first photo (of DD10 in her Pooh jammies)

Shoot!!!! How comfy and cute!!!!!
Yay! I did it! Now that I finally reached 10 posts (it only took 8 months) I can post photos. As I mentioned before I have been lurking for a while and loving all of your wonderful ideas. Here are the minnie dot outfits I CASEd (what does that stand for anyway?) for my DD10 and DD2 (and Dneice not in photo).

CUUUUUTE! Your dd's are adorable!

ooooooh-kay. It's gonna be a lot of work due to the total length of the circumference . It is 16 pannels! I'm so glad I didn't line it!!!!!

Beautiful!! How do you get the collar to stand up like that?!?

Aimeeg - I love your NBC set!!

Aimmeeg - that outfit is super duper cute. Is that Jack Skellington material from the bed sheets that everyone has been buying?

Beautiful!! How do you get the collar to stand up like that?!?
I used a medium thickness "nicer" white fabric and lightly interfaced each piece. The collar is supposed to have little wires in each corner...let's just say the first bodice is in the landfill about now. That fabric is all from Walmart and the white collar fabric actually has large roses printed onto it! Oh, and I used heavy starch (Faultless) and it stays up just fine.

I also think a velour or velvet like fabric would make a very pretty dark pink part. Maybe for winter?

Be warned, this pattern assumes you are an expert (at least to me it did). I'm sticking to my easier patterns for a while till I recooperate.

Noah had lost his before we left - and Emma had lost one. She lost the other front tooth 2 days ago while we were watching the Nemo show at Animal Kingdom.

TOO FUNNY! i have a noah (6 almost 7) and my emma is (3 almost 4 but going on 13!) and i too, am living VICARIOUSLY (is that the word tj?) thru your trip and pics and others too since our trip was cancelled- we were supposed to leave this sat. now im counting down til next sept cause dh promised i get a week and mnsshp!

I really really really really really really REALLY!!!! love this outift!!! It is darling!!! Your daughter is too!

I think you mean CLASS OF "92" ROCKS Although, I suppose my big sister was pretty cool and I spent a lot of time looking through her yearbook wishing I was super-cool, too.
Hehe, you are the ONLY person who EVER thought I was cool!!! Little sisters are GREAT!!!!
Teresa is wearing a RED dress to the reunion. I can't stress how gorgeous she looks in it!!
See above
:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Iridescent and they change colors!
Yea Heathersue, what are the odds!!!!

I could only wish that my hair was ever that cool! I'm going to guess terrycloth as to what fabric the jogging shorts were. If I can find a lovely family photo of Teresa, me, and our brother, David, circa 1984 or so, I will post it!
Not if I find one first!!!!

Oh no!!! It finally happened! I knew you'd expose me sooner or later!!! At least though, Teresajoy is a HAPPY username, not like huhkite!

If I were you, I'd just start a new username, and like Umama said, go rack up your posts somewhere. In that little box over there to the left, you could put "formerly hkite". But, really, if you keep Tessa's picture as your avatar and your siggy the same. Us important people that matter will know who you are! Come on Heather, you can do it!!!!!!! Go Heather Sue, go Heathersue, go Heathersue!!!!!!! WOOO! Who thinks Heather should just start a new username, raise your hand!!! :thumbsup2 or your thumb.

OH WOWWWY!!!! LOOK AT THAT!!! It is GORGEOUS!!!!!! Lydia was just standing here next to me. When she saw it, she said in hushed reverent whispwer, "Is that the REAL Aurora? She's so pretty." So, there you go, it meets with a 38 year olds approval, and most importantly, it has the Lydia-Rose-4-year-old-whisper-of-awe or, you can just call it LR4YOWOA or maybe just WOA!
I am definitely a southern girl (originally from Alabama and now live in Atlanta) and I can say y'all.

Y'all crack me up! The banter between you and your sister could keep me laughing forever!!!!!!!!

Aww! , I like you!

Yes! You brave speller you!! that is the word!!! How sad about your trip getting cancelled though!

My jogging shorts were pink and white satin (or something shiney and satin-like). Not that it's very important. I wouldn't be caught dead in jogging shorts after birthing 4 kids and gaining a kazillion pounds since I was 17.

I will tell you why it is important!!! Because it means that I was right!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!   now, just picture that banana in a red dress, and that's me!

I am sure my lovely blue overall ensemble will inspire someone! Good thing Heather didn't look directly at the camera, because the glare from those ginormous glasses would have melted the camera!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Look at Heather admiring you!

Look at those short-shorts!!!!!!

Look at those LEGS!!!! WOA!

That is a great picture TeresaJoyCE!!!

Is that other kid the one who grew up and took a camper-held-on-a-trailer-with-bungee-cords-and-"duck"-tape to the last family camp out by any chance?

I am getting ready to try another applique and I want to make sure I understand what you guys are talking about...are the tear away stabilizers and the stitch witchery (wonder under, etc.) two different things? Or are they the same thing? Thanks for any help!

They are two different products. Good Luck! Which reminds me I need more of the stabilizer. The package of Ultra bond Light seems to last forever.

I am off to Softball Practice now.

Ok, here is one of my final creations before we leave. If I get the time later I may still finish off one more...but we leave very early tomorrow so it is doubtful!

This is completely copied from a post here, but I dont remember who so I can give credit to them! SORRY! The pants I did not sew, just added the ruffles, 'magic wand' and the rhinestone tiara iron on. The princesses were from some fabric I had, I cut them out and used wonder under to adhere them. No appliques for me just yet!
