That looks beautiful! I want to make one for me!

I love this! Excellent job on the painted Lilo & Stitch!

I'm thinking Tessa needs an outfit, too. She is a "Call girl" after all. :rotfl: That's how she pronounced "Cowgirl". She goes around telling people she's a call girl.

It's really cute! I also tried working with the metallic thread on the My Little Pony applique I made. My thread did the same thing- seperated and I had to keep re-threading it. Ugh! But, we made it through. You go, metallic thread sister!

Ok first of all... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Tessa is too funny!

Second, thanks for the 2nd comment on metallic thread. I was really tempted to get some, but have changed my mind for now.

There is a pattern for a bodice like this in the bookmarks. Then, you could use the directions for the twirl skirts to put the bottom on it. I don't think you'd need a pattern at all.

Oooooh where? How did I miss that?

hi everyone, okay - so i have the ruffler foot, i watched the video clip online of somebody using it, butwhen i make a twirl skirt and join the rows together, how does it end up working out even and how do you know what settings to use on the ruffler?????
thanks, wendy

Someone told me to take a piece of material that is 10" long and keep working with it and your settings until you get it to end up at 5". That way you know to double your fabric for the length of ruffles you need. Hope this helps! But you might want to wait for an opinion from someone that actually owns a ruffler foot! Due to the snooty women at Joanns, I do not! Long story  .

Aha!!! The long overdue AK twirl top w/ Princess Liliana modeling (don't mind the squishy face- she does that, you know).
And of course the Obligatory Twirl...

I love the squishy face! That dress is long-awaited and so adorable! I also love the animal prints, great job!

I make bodices like this all the time w/o a pattern. Just cut rectangles to the size you want and then cut out arm holes. I used a shirt to figure out how big the arm holes should be. Basically the armholes will be J shapes (or backwards J depending on the size.)

Would this kind of be the same as when you cut out arm holes for a pillow case dress or shirt? I'll look through the bookmarks. Anyone know what I should be looking for?

Thanks so much for the compliments guys!! I love the twirl top!! she does too. I even cut out and started sewing a little halter dress w/ the faeries fabric steph gave me. so almost 3 outfits down 2 to go. Still need to post pics of the finished minne dot set. PLUS halloween costumes, oh and maybe a few bows:scared1:

Our web at work is still down so I don't know when I'll get a chance to post again, maybe when I do I'll have another outfit to show ya'll!!!

...t.

Sooo cute! I really like the lime & red Christmas stuff.

It's adorable & so is she. I've sewn many things on with the seams on the outside & had to redo them. It usually only happens when you REALLY don't want to have to do that again...you know like when you've just sewn what seems like 400 yds of ruffle onto a skirt. ;) :rolleyes1

That's so cute. I like the tutu with the jeans.

Love the tutu outfit! And OMG, how can you watch your dd doing that scorpion? :scared1: I'd be freaking out! But, then again my dd16 is the most accident prone teenager since her mother! :rotfl:

It was pretty easy to watch her today (probably since Katie was laying on the floor at my feet throwing a fit, hard to imagine I know). She has been dropped so many times I think I am getting used to it :) I think I will be a nervous mess at the competitions though. She was a base last year, safely on the ground where I like her! I am more nervous when she tumbles. She is learning full twists right now and I am afraid she is really going to get hurt. DD however says "I can't do layouts forever, MOM". I am sure I will have gray hair by the end of the season!

Thanks for all of the compliments on Katie's outfit.

This looks really great and I like the fullness of the top...Your applique are looking great....I like her lady liberty outfit...Accessories and all.

I like the fullness of the top in this picture too. Of course that is not what it looks like without her arms down!! I deleted the pictures of the "true" fullnes of the top!! I had her try it on with a tutu twirl skirt - the top was almost as full as the skirt!!

I love your Minnie bow BTW. I've been looking for Minnie bows with yellow in them too. Great job!

Here is a pic of a template that I just made myself. I use it for both my DD5 and DD7. You don't want it as long as you would for a pillowcase dress because for that the dress is almost a halter and with this bodice it starts out lower. As you can see by the grid mine is 2 1/2 inches down by 3 inches across. Just decide where you want the top to lay on your DD then how far down under her armpit and add the top and side seam allowance. If you need more help just let me know.

OT - Does anyone have clip art or coloring pages for Halloween Hello Kitty? I'm looking for her dressed up as a witch.

Here she is :) I love this face!

Notice her cast matches. That was no accident :) Only 1.5 weeks left to go.

hi - i've been wondering about these tu tu's - do you use the rolls of the material, or do you get it off the bolt? how do you know how much? soooo cute!!!
:thumbsup2

Great job! I think it looks wonderful!

I didn't see it! Could you post a picture of the others for me? I want to make a dress for Lydia with a contrasting peasant top style bodice. Coordinating fabric would be great!

I did not buy the Butterfly one(it was purple and I did not think it really went with the other fabrics), but I did buy the other two.
Here you go:

I really like that bow!

Teresajoy, tell Arminda thanks for the compliment on the Lilo outfit.
DD is a big goofball and will pose forever if there is a camera around.
I will tell her! Arminda and Lydia love to pose for the camera too! Although Arminda is at this stage where she first pretends she doesn't want her picture taken! But, then she wants you to keep taking more when she gets started!
Here she is :) I love this face!

Just for fun I am adding a pic of DD 10. This is her "flying". She is the one in the air. This is her scorpion, she has practiced that so much this last year, that If you ask Katie to do a scorpion she will pull her leg up behind her.
Sorry it is so dark. It was like 900 degrees in the gym and my camera was acting crazy.

Thanks for looking :goodvibes
Katie is so adorable! I love the outfit!

AHHH!!! I couldn't stand to see Arminda up there doing that! I think I would have a heart attack!

Oooooh where? How did I miss that?

I put it under tops/ halter tops/ childs sleevles top instructions.

Thanks, great directions!

Just wanted to let all you moms and grandmoms know how wonderful the Princess Storybook experience in Norway is...had dinner there tonight, and as you stand in line to be seating, there is a little alcove and there stood Belle in her golden gown and she was BEAUTIFUL!!!! When Makayla saw her, she was in shock....and then Ariel came around and held her and kissed her...and then Alice...then Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) and she knelt down and held her and kissed her too, and then Cinderella...who even put a lipstick print on her cheek...it was awesome! Will post phot when I can...her Sleeping Beauty gown drew lots of compliments...as did her Minnie outfit this am at MGM...having a great time...but if you haven't gone there, the Storybook Princess buffet is THE BEST!!!
Susan

A little off topic- but it I need to coordinate outfits.

Has anyone been to the 1900 Park Fair Breakfast? Which characters are there? We had to rework our dining plan. Since we were able to get Hollywood and Vine I had to ditch 1900 dinner. I am not sure who is there.

ETA- What is the weather like in early December?

Sorry, Belle had her eyes closed....this is the only applique I can do so far...two Mickey heads...I will try harder next time, I promise...
Susan...thanks for looking...see all the princesses???? Loved Princess Storybook!

I'm crying like a little baby!!!!! That is just precious! I didn't even want to make them thumbnail size, they deserve a full page! I can't wait to take my dd2, she is going to be in awe!

Here is a better photo of Belle...can you just see how in awe little Makayla is??? She couldn't stop grinning...and here is her lipstick mark from Cinderella...she didn't want to wash it off!!! What a wonderful night...I don't know who was more excited, Makayla or me just watching the expressions on her face!!!! I told her she is one lucky little 2 year old!

Will post more tomorrow...who knows what tomorrow holds? And which outfits we will try tomorrow???

Susan:love:

There I go again, all teary and can't see the keyboard!

Did you do her hair? It's gorgeous!

You are too sweet! Well, her mommy did the hair...she has really fine and very curly hair...it isn't easy to do much with it, but the price was right and she is too young to do the BBBoutique...I was in tears myself just watching her. When she looked over her shoulder and saw each princess coming her way one by one, she just was so excited she couldn't contain herself. But that little alcove with Belle in it, you can't see her until the host escorts you forward, and there was Belle in that beautiful gown!!! Oh, it was breathtaking...we are going back this week for lunch...it was so worth it....I just love being a grandma...
