Just wanted to let all you moms and grandmoms know how wonderful the Princess Storybook experience in Norway is...had dinner there tonight, and as you stand in line to be seating, there is a little alcove and there stood Belle in her golden gown and she was BEAUTIFUL!!!! When Makayla saw her, she was in shock....and then Ariel came around and held her and kissed her...and then Alice...then Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) and she knelt down and held her and kissed her too, and then Cinderella...who even put a lipstick print on her cheek...it was awesome! Will post phot when I can...her Sleeping Beauty gown drew lots of compliments...as did her Minnie outfit this am at MGM...having a great time...but if you haven't gone there, the Storybook Princess buffet is THE BEST!!!
Susan

ohh I am so happy to hear this! We will be having dinner there in 1 week! Hmm..now I am not sure which outfit DD should wear!!

Where did you get the cute little crown? My dd needs one like that!

oops I quoted the wrong poster lol

The little crowns are the ones they use at the BBBoutique. They are sold in WDW in almost all of the shops now. I got this one at MGM in a bin of little crowns at the first shop on the left as you go in. They have them at World of Disney store downtown Disney also. It worked so well because it is small and has a little come on the top rather than at the ends of the crown. During the day she wore it with her Minnie dress..all I did was pull up a little big of hair in that Minnie Mouse band and then slid that comb into it. They are so cute and come in different color accents...$10. I didn't think that was bad for WDW....

Oh, you will just love the princesses. Each one has a unique personality. Ariel is a scream...she is really naughty and just like she was in the movie...doing things HER way...Alice was sweet. Cinderella had the dearest little sweet voice. Makayla was in love with each one. They wouldn't have even had to feed me...it was such a great time for us...what memories we will have for many years to come! Have a wonderful time. Oh, by the way, I was so surprised. I didn't see any little girls in princess dresses...maybe because it was so late. Our ADR was for 7:55pm. I am used to seeing the princess buffet at the Grand Floridian...every little girl is dressed up.

I am so happy I made these little outfits for Makayla. It just makes the trip more special...Oh, I will have to take a photo of the autograph book I made her....it is sweet...

Well, I better get off to sleep.. big day tomorrow...

 Susan

I wanted to share what I have been doing this weekend :) Besides spending 8 hours working concessions at the Ohio State football game. We usually go to watch the games, but this is a fund raiser for our cheer gym.

Anyway- DD 10 had a pep rally today to get ready for the first competition in a few weeks. You know it is bad, when you wake up early to make something for your child to wear :rotfl2: Miss Katie had to have something to show her support for the Stars!

Here is my first wearable appliqué. I had used a teal shirt with a purple star, but my machine ate it. My new machine came with the foot that is clear so you can see where you are stitching. It really made this so much easier. I embroidered her name with my new machine (Disney brother). You can not really tell in the photo, but the dark purple star fabric has teal and silver glitter in it. I also made the tutu this morning. I tried to get DH to cut the tulle for me. I also had to make cookies for a fund raiser. Anyway, he said NO. I told him "Tom would do it for his daughter." After the LONG explanation on who Tom is, he said I spend way to much time online :) I made the jeans last year. They are a little short, I was hoping they would be capri length since they are 12-18 months and Katie is 2.5, but they kind of fit. I will add two pics so you can see the appliqué well and also the whole ensemble. She got a lot compliments today and they tried to talk me into putting her on the Tiny cheer team.

Here she is :) I love this face!

Notice her cast matches. That was no accident :) Only 1.5 weeks left to go.

Just for fun I am adding a pic of DD 10. This is her "flying". She is the one in the air. This is her scorpion, she has practiced that so much this last year, that If you ask Katie to do a scorpion she will pull her leg up behind her.
Sorry it is so dark. It was like 900 degrees in the gym and my camera was acting crazy.

Thanks for looking :goodvibes

The outfit is adorable.
You are in OHIO?!
What cheer gym does your daughter go to? If you work for the OSU games, then might it be the Cheer Center?
I used to coach cheerleading in Pickerington and also up in NE Ohio-coached for 12 years. I also judge competitions, but I am taking a long break to be home with the kids because, to coach a great cheer team, you need alot of time and I just don't have that with my 3 boys right now;) . Anyway, I do know those colors to be of the Cheer Center but maybe there is another Cheer Gym near central Ohio with those colors too.
BTW, her scorpion looks fantastic!!:thumbsup2

It was pretty easy to watch her today (probably since Katie was laying on the floor at my feet throwing a fit, hard to imagine I know). She has been dropped so many times I think I am getting used to it :) I think I will be a nervous mess at the competitions though. She was a base last year, safely on the ground where I like her! I am more nervous when she tumbles. She is learning full twists right now and I am afraid she is really going to get hurt. DD however says "I can't do layouts forever, MOM". I am sure I will have gray hair by the end of the season!

Thanks for all of the compliments on Katie's outfit.

Oh, but the fulls are awesome, esp the great ones!! I love X-outs and nice layout stepouts too. Good for her! You'll have to keep me updated on how she is doing!!

Here is the Minnie dress I made and the shoes I bought from Voldemart...her Sleeping Beauty dress that was a bear to make, but worth every penny!!!

Oh my! Love the pics!
I esp love your dot dress! It is adorable.

What a cutie! I like that the cast coordinates!

And, Yes! You're darn tootin' I would have cut the tulle for my daughter! I laughed when I saw my named mentioned!

I don't think I am ready for my baby to do anything remotely close to your daughter's scorpion. Looks great though!

You are too sweet! Well, her mommy did the hair...she has really fine and very curly hair...it isn't easy to do much with it, but the price was right and she is too young to do the BBBoutique...I was in tears myself just watching her. When she looked over her shoulder and saw each princess coming her way one by one, she just was so excited she couldn't contain herself. But that little alcove with Belle in it, you can't see her until the host escorts you forward, and there was Belle in that beautiful gown!!! Oh, it was breathtaking...we are going back this week for lunch...it was so worth it....I just love being a grandma...
Susan

When we went last May, Ariel was in that alcove and we weren't expecting that at all! It was a nice surprise, isn't that place beautiful!

We leave for the USA first thing in the morning. See you in your great country soon. WDW in 12 more sleeps NY first.

Have a nice trip Sam!

You can also check your local Target. I bought one for my DD and myself and I think I paid 1.99 for them.

Wow, I think our Walmart had them for almost $10 too! I'll check Target.

I need some advice and figured you ladies (and gentleman) would be great to ask.

As silly as it sounds, my DD (6) does not know HSM is a movie. She has seen the Pep Rally at MGM several times and also saw the stars live when they were filming the Christmas parade last year. I "think" what she likes about HSM is the cheerleading and the music.

Now of course they have HSM stuff everywhere, the dolls, books etc. I don't think she puts it together that the dolls are from the movie (if that makes sense). So my question is this-should I buy her the movie? Is there anything "objectional" about it? Has your 6 year old seen the movie and did they like it? I think there is a lot of singing in the movie?

Can you tell I am HSM clueless?:lmao:

All of my girls love it (2,6,8,16) and I don't recall anything about it that would be questionable. And yes, they sing everything! I think she'll love it!

OT - Does anyone have clip art or coloring pages for Halloween Hello Kitty? I'm looking for her dressed up as a witch.

Here you go. I know I saw her dressed as a pumpkin, Frankinstein, a bat, & a black cat also.

I love that your girls coordinate - very cool! Did you make the skirts too? I've got appliques down (I like to embelish) but at this point skirts like that are beyond me. Very nice!

I am trying to make a top with an EPCOT ball on it, but cannot find any material that looks like the ball (minimal material shops around here - Walmart and a quilt shop)....

wondering if anyone had any ideas how to maybe paint one with maybe some of that glitter silver paint stuff...can you think of anything else?

How about some silver fabric layered over some white with quilted diamonds? I can't believe I would try something like that! I still have a hard time believing that I can actually sew! I keep waiting for a white rabbit to slap me and say "wake up Alice, you're in wonderland!!" :rotfl:

Here we go...

Here you go:

Cindee
So now I want these fabrics desperately! My DD loves princesses and butterflies. And I love purple, so I amy have to get that one too!! I hope the fabrics are still there when I get paid!

Yep, got it at Walmart. I changed colors throughout the applique.

Wow that sounds very challenging!!

Alright now back to the topic at hand I don't sew but I thought I'd share something I made (disney of course) enjoy!

I love her face and the colors of the shirt, tutu and jeans. Purple is my absolute fav color! How smart of you to get a matching cast!!

These bows look great!!

Aimee g...I didn't post your quote because I thought by the time I got to the last page, someone else would have answered...anyway the characters at 1900 Park Faire when we went a year and a half ago were.. Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter and Pooh. Not sure how he fit in there though! Hope this helps!

you mean to suggest that I quilt the 2 together? I too am like you in the sewing dept...I threaded my machine for the first time last night without having to pull out the manual ! It probably would look right though..thanks for the idea - only 4 days left I guess I need to try it tonight !
